Hi ladies,

Just wondering if anyone is due in the next couple of weeks and wants to keep a thread of how they're feeling, their daily struggles or keep updated with labour stories etc?!

I'm 38+0 and have been having niggles for a week or so. I have mild polyhydramnios and have been told to expect baby anytime soon, although some days I don't feel pregnant and feel I still have ages to go!

How're you feeling and have you had any signs that your LO will be making an appearance anytime soon?

I wouldn't do it for three hours a day, that would just get bloody sore!!

MrsCorr · 16/02/2015 19:23

I'll probably get fed up in about 5 mins lol! Will keep that as my last resort then Smile before I finished up for maternity leave I worried about what I would do all day, nipple twiddling was not part of the plan Shock haha

hazel88 · 16/02/2015 19:36

Hahaha Grin

Haha my midwife told me to try nipple twiddling and hand expressing, my OH actually covered his ears and went bright red, so she told him sex would be even better. He left the room, such a prude! X

SconeCreamJam · 16/02/2015 21:43

Hi, can I crash the waiting party? I'm due this week with DC2, induced after going over with first and not wanting to repeat that if I don't have to!! Lots if painful BH on and off over past couple of weeks but never coming to anything. Sigh. Congrats to those who have had safe arrivals so far! Flowers

MrsCorr · 16/02/2015 21:47

Hi scone Grin the more the merrier. When are you due?

Think checking this thread is making the waiting seem more bearable, at least you ladies understand what I'm going through xx

hazel88 · 16/02/2015 22:03

Welcome Scone! I find being part of this thread is helping to maintain the scrap of sanity I have left! It's so nice being able to talk to women who know exactly what you're going through

Conhratulations Phantom! These thread babies are keeping us going!

As for the 2/3 mile walk..I'll have to try that but seems like a massive effort! Willing to try anything though...except nipple stimulation for 3 hrs..ouchy!

SconeCreamJam · 16/02/2015 22:43

Yep I've been lurking for a couple days of days and it's made me feel less crazy knowing I'm not alone in my impatience! I'm due tomorrow from scan or Saturday from conception date (I was tracking). Planning a walk tomorrow, I agree three hours of nipple stimulation sounds excruciating!!!

hazel88 · 17/02/2015 08:48

Humph.....lots of tightenings and period pains all through the night and constant tossing and turning as I was more uncomfortable than usual, but nothing. Not so much as a whiff of a contraction!

Has anyone made any progress?

I need help!! I'm 5days late on my period, I'm always as regular as clockwork I've done 4 pregnancy tests and all negative but I feel pregnant (sore boobs, fainting, dizziness, headaches, cramping and being sick) I really don't know what to do as doctors test also negative but In my gut I know I am! Help!

hazel88 · 17/02/2015 09:40

Hi Asewell, maybe wait a few more days and take another test first thing in the morning. If it still comes back negative maybe see your GP.

This is a thread for women who are due have their babies in the next couple of weeks, you might find you get more responses if you start a thread Smile hope you get the result you're hoping for.

Same as you Hazel, a much more uncomfortable night with period pains but no contractions. I feel huge but am going to try to have a good walk today with the dogs and boune on my ball a little bit.
Hi scone, good luck, sending you some labour inducing thoughts too, although they do seem to be pretty ineffective at the moment! x

hazel88 · 17/02/2015 09:53

bambi I feel much bigger too! Hope the walk works for you, I'm going for a bit of vigorous housework Confused

blankfornames · 17/02/2015 10:10

As for me.....nothing. Not as much as fanny dagger! I even slept amazingly...didnt need to pee once. That to me is not someone who is about to give birth any moment. Angry

Fearing the internal tomorrow. DH is taking morning off and bringing me. I live a good hr away from hospital, should I bring the bags with me tomorrow?

bambi07 · 17/02/2015 10:17

Don't tire yourself out too much though Hazel, my midwife is always worrying that I'll be too tired to give birth.
Apparently blank, a good night sleep can be your body getting ready! You never know, fingers crossed. Also I would put bag in the car, can't hurt to have it but could be a pain not having it. X

SconeCreamJam · 17/02/2015 11:18

Can't hurt to have bag with you just in case blank. I'd not question a good night's sleep!! I spent last night awake more than asleep, I had (what felt like how I remember) contractions, not regular but uncomfortable enough to wake me all night. Then this morning, nothing!!! So frustrating!
Sending positive vibes everybody's way today.

blankfornames · 17/02/2015 17:42

Thanks for advise re bags. Will pack them into the car so.

Scone..how frustrating! Our bodies are playing a game with our minds!
I've been having quite regular BHs today but nothing that feels remotely like a period pain...just real tight and uncomfortable.

hazel88 · 17/02/2015 18:16

Are you excited about the sweep tomorrow? I really hope it brings baby on quickly for you!

OP posts:
MrsCorr · 17/02/2015 19:33

Blank, hope these sweeps work for us tomorrow! My mum told me about someone she knows who was sent straight to hospital after her sweep because she was contracting straight away. Probably one in a million but these stories keep me going Smile
Have been out shopping today & went for lunch with my dh, keep hoping if I make plans something will happen lol, hasn't worked yet.
Now waiting on my pancakes, can't decide if I want Nutella & banana, maple syrup or raspberries & strawberries. Maybe I'll have one of each Wink pregnancy problems haha! Won't get away with eating what I want for much longer so I'm making the most of it!

hazel88 · 17/02/2015 19:38

Ooo Mrs Corr you have yours tomorrow too?! Hope it isn't long for you either!!

On the pancake front...definitely one of each, no messing about! You need to use the pregnancy card to its full advantage for the short time you have left! Think I'll be having 4: 2 lemon and sugar, 1 nutella, 1 ice cream and flake- how's that for pregnancy pig out?! Blush

OP posts:
MrsCorr · 17/02/2015 19:57

Sounds good to me, quite jealous of the flake one Envy
Was feeling positive about the sweep then my mil was just in & told me it's sore! Would my pregnancy excuse be enough to get away with punching her in the face?! I only want to hear positive things or nothing at all, horror stories don't help when you're 40 + 4 days pregnant Confused

bambi07 · 17/02/2015 20:01

I'm definitely an advocate for punching mil in face! Mine has one coming too. Mmmmm pancakes, forgot about that! X

bambi07 · 17/02/2015 20:02

Good luck with sweeps as well, I will keep my fingers crossed for you both. Smile

MrsCorr · 17/02/2015 20:34

Thanks, will keep you all updated Smile
