Oh bollocks. Can you see a line?

Tell me this is some sort of false shit line please? I have been having regular periods, my last was around the 11th, but I've been slowly putting on weight around my stomach but I thought it must be because of christmas binging.

Anyway on Friday night I had a horrific pain in my stomach and it's all massive and bloated, I posted here about it and people asked if it was possible I could be pregnant and I said no.

I went to the emergency doctor who also asked this and I said no. I'm on the mini pill but do throw up a lot, but we don't DTD that often and we haven't been caught in over 3 years of being together so I just thought it must be fine.

But being a paranoid human I went and bought a cheap test from savers today 'clear and simple' and have just taken the test and thought it was fine but I looked closer and I saw this faint line. It appeared after 2 minutes.

It's very faint. Tell me theres other explanations for this? Please?

Oh bollocks. Can you see a line?

yes, that's a line.

Hurr1cane · 26/01/2015 10:07

Also this weekend I've been taking laxatives to help me go through the pain. Bollocks could I have damaged it if I am? Which I bloody hope I'm not

Emmm I think its positive which means you ARE pregnant! I hope that's good news........congrats xxx

Specificity · 26/01/2015 10:07

Looks positive to me.

Hurr1cane · 26/01/2015 10:08

Hazle... But I had a period this month! The 11th! It was a normal period and they've all been normal and bang on time. Is that even possible? DP won't be happy at all.

GoldfishSpy · 26/01/2015 10:08

Yup. That is a line.

Thurlow · 26/01/2015 10:08

I can see a line on the first one.

It does sound like you are, what with the sickness and the bloating.

If you were, how far along would you be?

PotteringAlong · 26/01/2015 10:09

You're pregnant - I think you might need an early dating scan.

IAmNotAPrincessIAmAKahleesi · 26/01/2015 10:09

Definitely looks positive to me

If it appeared within ten minutes then it is a true line not a false positive

PlumpingUpPartridge · 26/01/2015 10:09

Looks positive to me, I'm afraid.

What do you want to do?

Hurr1cane · 26/01/2015 10:10

It is really really not good news Sad I've been drinking loads over christmas, I have an 8 year old with severe special needs and I can't work and I don't live with my other half because it's just not practical.

But I just couldn't have an abortion.

Fuck fuck fuck.

What if it means this pain is an eptopic pregnancy??

OP posts:
tomandizzymum · 26/01/2015 10:11

Yep, you're pregnant.

mummypig3 · 26/01/2015 10:11

Yes thats a line i see

Hurr1cane · 26/01/2015 10:12

Argh!!! What now? Should I call my doctor and explain? Do I carry on taking the antibiotics? How is it even possible when I've just had a period 2 weeks ago?

OP posts:
GoldfishSpy · 26/01/2015 10:13

I have had an ectopic.

Sorry if tmi but the pain was quite a lot like trapped wind. Made me double over and I couldn't continue with my day. I also got pain in my back, behind my shoulder blade. It's called 'shoulder-tip' pain, I think.

You need to speak to a GP to get checked for ectopic, I think.

HazleNutt · 26/01/2015 10:13

Can you go get a scan? the periods you get when on the pill are not actually periods, (as there should not have been an egg released in the first place), so I don't think you can rely on those.

tomandizzymum · 26/01/2015 10:14

Go and see your doctor or a family planning clinic, they should have someone that you can talk to about options.

GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 26/01/2015 10:14

First thing you need to do is find out how far along you are. If you go to the family planning clinic and explain you're unsure about the pregnancy, they can arrange a dating scan.

The pain might be implantation pain, not ectopic necessarily, and the bleeding could be any number of reasons. FWIW I bled with all mine and didn't have a problem carrying to term. I know anecdotes don't help but please don't assume the worst at this stage. Good luck.

Hurr1cane · 26/01/2015 10:16

Shitting shit. I can't ring today because DP is here and he's fucking awake. He's never awake. I can't tell him until I'm 100% sure because it will seriously upset him.

OP posts:
middlings · 26/01/2015 10:17

That's a line. Sorry. Don't worry about the drinking too much that early on.

Since you're on the mini pill, it could have been that that caused the bleed.

Given your circumstances, can you ask your GP for an HCG blood test? That'd tell you. Or could you pay for one?

Bless you - it's horrible when it's not good news.

RubbishRobotFromTheDawnOfTime · 26/01/2015 10:17

The line is quite faint though, it looks like one you'd see from no more than about 4 weeks gone (i.e. two weeks since conception), that's just from my experience.

You have to see your doctor for a blood test and scan if appropriate. I hope it works out for you.

Thurlow · 26/01/2015 10:18

Call the GP and explain and see if you can get a dating scan. The periods could be from being on the pill. You need to work out how far along you are, and that the pain etc is making you worry.

The first thing is to confirm that you are pregnant and work out how far along you are, then you can consider your options

Don't get me wrong I absolutely love children and wanted lots and lots. But my DSs condition is very rare and genetic and 1. I don't want to inflict the illness he goes through on another baby, and 2. I can't stretch myself much further to care for another human and 3. I can't work to support one!!!

OP posts:
WhatWouldFlopDo · 26/01/2015 10:19

Aye, that be a line. I'd get checked out for ectopic too, I've had 2 and got positive tests for both a week or two after a normal period. I didn't get any pain though because it was too early. I hope you're ok.

It is a line. You need to see the doctor after your stomach pains at the weekend. Hopefully they will be able to confirm how far along you are.
