Last thread ended with a series of Really Good News, so let's hope this one keeps up the trend!

Yay for eight weeks milestone treacle! And definitely fantastic news on the heaving front. Mine started around then too and still not stopped, bar Xmas day and Boxing Day!

I was feeling great this morning, no nausea or sickness, and even bought some pick n mix sweets for our little trip away to the Peak District tomorrow and a can of Pepsi.... Only to wake from my afternoon nap feeling sick as a dog. Sure enough, pukeylicious replaced broodylicious. What's worse is that I'm cooking a chilli in the slow cooker and the smell is just repulsive. Nice that dh just came back from work and said how delicious it smells though!

Treaclepie19 · 08/02/2015 18:19

I've not heaved since lunch time :)
I do feel very sick though.
Turns out i was starving and only fancied mcdonalds so I ate a bit too much. Now I'm stuffed and nauseous.

Sounds like a lovely trip away :)

DoctorDonnaNoble · 08/02/2015 18:24

Feeling really nauseous today. Not sure why. I hate being sick but think it might be just round the corner.

Treaclepie19 · 08/02/2015 18:30

I'm exactly the same doctordonna, a complete wuss with being sick.
So much so that I ran to be sick earlier but held my breath to try and keep it all in. Amazingly I did manage.
We're about the same due date aren't we?

DoctorDonnaNoble · 08/02/2015 18:45

Yup, think I'm a couple of days ahead at the moment - but that could change!
I'm not an emetophobe BUT, if I can avoid being sick I will. My DSIL who has 6 weeks left to go is only just struggling now with tiredness! It's amazing how different each pregnancy is!

gingerbreadmam · 08/02/2015 19:07

when did sickness start lol? i feel quaesy on occasion but not sick and i wasnt sick last time so think its something to look out for for me even tho i know not everybody gets it.

worked out my edd today, 19 october. i did something else too, bought some baby things. i know peoples opinions on this varies but last time in the 9 wks i was blissfully unaware i so desperately wanted to buy something and people told me not to. when i discovered the mmc i remember being heartbroken that i hadnt experienced that joy. so today i feel really pleased with myself Grin

longestlurkerever · 08/02/2015 19:50

Lovely ginger! I think a bit of positive thinking is a good thing.

I haven't actually been sick on any pregnancy but have been very close very often. Is normally worse if I am hungry or tired and eating normally helps even if I don't feel like I am hungry.

24 weeks now. There was a time I never thought I would get here. Think I might be past the comfy stage though, which was pretty short-lived!

Brilliant news tea. Thanks for stopping by. X

gingerbreadmam · 08/02/2015 20:11

was only a baby grow set and a towel but just something that made me think my bby is going to be in that before long.

oh im already getting tht a bit where feel sick then mouth goes all watery and feel like trying to hold it in. i didnt really get that last time not a bad anyway so is good.

oh 24 weeks very good over halfway there. lovely!

SuzyBean · 08/02/2015 21:04

Congratulations tea, lovely news. Congrats too to all the great scan news for those in the first trimester, those first three months are the slowest in the world!

I'm 31 weeks now and I can't believe it I'm now in the top third of the stats, last time I didn't even make the stats list!!!

The short lived blooming second trimester is definitely over, I've got really bad pelvic pain and feel like an old lady every time I move, hoping it's just a phase and not going to be like this until the end. 4 weeks left till mat leave!!!

Boozle80 · 08/02/2015 21:20

Hey all. Hope everyone's doing alright :). Quick question, when did you stop heparin - there's a difference in opinion between two of my consultants. Sigh, if only they could agree!

tannyLoo · 08/02/2015 21:24

12 weeks boozle, but that was under Coventry, so no clotting history.

Boozle80 · 08/02/2015 21:33

I haven't been tested so don't know if clotting is an issue or not - got a BFP the week before my first appointment at RMC. One consultant says 20 weeks, the new one wants me on it until 28 weeks but the first consultant says I shouldn't be on it for that long... It's a minefield!

envious it's exciting and scary all at the same time :) slightly worried how DS is going to take everything he has been very tearful over the weekend Sad but he'll get there baby has bought him lost of presents so hopefully that will help a bit :) sorry your finding it hard to be positive at the moment sending big hugs

tannyLoo · 09/02/2015 07:55

*boozle, that is annoying! And without knowing if the heparin has been doing you good through supporting the placenta or thinning the blood, it seems a bit of a gamble. I know of people who are on it until close to term for clotting. Maybe pop over to the RMC thread and ask there too? How many weeks are you now?

Boozle80 · 09/02/2015 09:11

I'm 19 - so only got enough to keep me going for another week but can get another prescription if I need it. It's just frustrating, and now I don't know what to do! I don't want to stop and have this one not make it.

CommanderShepard · 09/02/2015 11:21

Boak boak boak boak boak. I hate morning sickness. The only good thing is that it doesn't seem quite as bad as it was with DD.

I've signed up to a research study - www.interbio21.org.uk/ as I meet the criteria with my pre-eclampsia history. Looks quite interesting, and the bonus is growth scans every 4-6 weeks Grin I am a bit of a sucker for these things - DD was in a vaccine trial (adding hep b to the standard childhood vaccines) which was great as her baby jabs were all done at our house and a blood test has confirmed her immunity to the diseases. Yay science!

In more mortifying news, the only pair of work-suitable trousers which fit today are maternity trousers. I'm 8+1. FFS.

I felt bloody sick this morning and two day smug feeling and banging on about 2nd trimester glow. Commanded at 8-10wks this time I was struggling to close my jeans but then I found it was just bloating - about a week ago I developed a slight bump higher up ands weirdly can get back into them again!
Can I ask if anyone has struggled with weight gain... The scales yesterday were basically as they were in October. I'm really trying and eating more than I was - and I look different (my waist has left the building) but with the earlier food aversions I guess I was struggling. Should I be worried at 16wks about it? Or count myself lucky??

Treaclepie19 · 09/02/2015 13:14

I'm the same. I. Feel. Sick.

Food is not my friend.

I'm struggling to eat anything but not actually being sick. I never fancy anything so worrying that my diet isn't very good.

I've lost 2 lb now which doesn't sound a lot but I'm so bloated that it must be more than that minus the bloat.

I lost 2 stone with DD as I had hyperemesis. GP and midwife weren't bothered about the weight loss; they said that the foetus would get all the nutrients it needed and I'd get the rest, so chances are I would be rough as but the foetus would be fine.

Littlelady it's definitely bloat going on here!

OP posts:
Treaclepie19 · 09/02/2015 13:53

That's good to hear! (That they weren't worried I mean)

I just worry as I'm not getting many nutrients as it is.
Just managed to eat waffles and spaghetti hoops. Most ive enjoyed a meal for ages!

Littlelady33 · 09/02/2015 14:01

Thanks commander that's reassuring. Between 6 and 12 weeks I basically ate toast and marmite but the baby was developing fine, I guess I shouldn't worry. I do feel slightly pressured by all the internet advice about eating pregnancy superfoods... The thought of avocado or kale most days is absolutely horrendous - although I ate plenty of that kind of thing before I was pg!
