Last thread ended with a series of Really Good News, so let's hope this one keeps up the trend!

Hey All, can I join? I think I may feel brave enough! I'm currently just over 17 weeks pregnant and swinging between positivity and crapping my pants!

longestlurkerever · 26/01/2015 17:33

Hop aboard Boozle! Nice to see you over here.

Sorry you feel so rough purple.

Interesting about the gender theories. My dm and her twin dsis have only dds after years of infertility. My dgm had just them and was one of five girls. So far I am the only one of my generation to have dcs but will have 2 dds. Who knows really but I guess it's possible there's a connection.

happygojo · 26/01/2015 17:37

Hello boozle we all have 'crapping our pants' days on here so you are in good company.

In fact I am having a wobble now. MW rang me and has told me I need to see the consultant because I had a lletz procedure 6.5 years ago for CIN3 cells on my cervix. Since then my smears have been fine, I have had the IUD, and no-one mentioned it durging my medical management for my blighted ovum..... Soooo I searched for a board discussing it on here and found lots of 'meh! It is fine, nothing to worry about and you sometimes get a sneaky extra scan or two' but also some 'you will MC or never dilate'. I would like to know what to expect from seeing the consultant but I should probably step away from Dr. Google right?

Mslad · 26/01/2015 18:37

Welcome boozle - you're in great 'crapping pants' company Smile

happy that sounds scary- but everything on Dr Google can sound scary. I don't know anything about it, but hopefully the 'meh it's fine' group are right. When is your appointment? Did you MW seem overly concerned? But yes, definitely step away from the scary Dr Google!

charlieis30 · 26/01/2015 18:49

happy I had the same surgery about the same time ago so I talked to MW at booking in and I just have to get monthly cervical scans to check how it's all going. My first one is this week at 14+6. They monitor throughout the pregnancy. She seemed totally unconcerned, I'd consulted dr google too so was a bit worried but she said likely to be totally fine. The most important thing is that they're aware. I don't even get a consultant for it!

I've realised that I have about a 10 day post-scan tolerance before I start freaking out again (yes, even into 2nd tri). I'm hoping at the cervical scan they can check the HB as well (assume so?!) It's been a crampy few days, pretty sure the round ligament pain is kicking in. I can definitely feel something firm under my belly chub, think my uterus is popping out a bit. Trying to stay posifrickintive!

happygojo · 26/01/2015 18:53

MW's words were 'they'll probably see you once and then refer you back to me' so not concerned. At the time of the procedure I was told to not get preg for 2 years, I left it for 6 so I am sure I will be ok. To be honest if you google 'sneezing in pregnancy' you would probably find some horror story or other. I just need to think of it as good that they are checking me out and if there is an issue they will do a stitch. Need to get next weeks scan out of the way first!

broodylicious · 26/01/2015 19:23

boozle!! It's so lovely to see you. Don't worry about being worried - I'm 15 weeks today and am still petrified. Keep thinking I feel wet (tmi) and rush to loo thinking I'll be bleeding. I'm a flippin nightmare and I'm doing my own head in!!

Boozle80 · 26/01/2015 20:07

Broody thank goodness in not alone in my craziness, I've almost convinced myself i've gone into early labour several times already! Yup 17 weeks and knicker checking like a good 'un! I'm sure my colleagues think I've got some weird bladder infection... I blame the sudden lack of scans - I've gone from weekly up to 12 weeks to nothing up until 20 weeks - although I've bought a doppler and I've already got through a set of batteries, (obsessed me, not at all!)

I've had the same sunbathing! for about the last week now. It goes when I lie down. I assumed, as it was the top of my bump that it was just normal growing, or that I ate to much....I didn't dare google it.

Littlelady33 · 26/01/2015 22:04

Boozle great to see you here! 14 wks here and still worried worried worried - good scans buy me almost no peace of mind at all. DH baffled I could possibly think anything would go wrong again. I'm all alone on planet crazy.

Treaclepie19 · 26/01/2015 22:06

Hi Boozle :)
Lovely to see you.

We're the same Tori.

Sunbathing, DH has banned me from googling :p

Mslad · 26/01/2015 22:36

I could be wrong sunbathing but as it's at the top of the bump I wasn't so freaked out. If it's not one thing to worry about its the other though, right?

Boozle80 · 26/01/2015 22:39

I haven't had it at the top of the bump but it does feel like my cervix is going to collapse any second - like some bizarre pressure - the consultant said it's normal though... Sometimes I think they just say that when they don't know what else to say...

Hi all, I haven't read back yet and have a lot to catch-up on.

I had some bright red spotting yesterday when I wiped (this was just after a bowel movement) at about 5pm and then again in the evening at home. Just got up in the middle of the night for a wee and a few more bright red spots on wiping. Put a a tissue next to the entrance of my vagina a few times and a few drops of bright red blood on the tissue each time. What do I do? Text my midwife in the morning, ring the hospital? I'm sat here worrying! I did some exercise on Sunday (pregnancy work-out DVD), could that have irritated something?

thesmallbear · 27/01/2015 02:22

I'm 17 + 5 btw. I'd started to let myself get excited about this pregnancy. Please don't tell me this is the start of the end Sad

DoctorDonnaNoble · 27/01/2015 05:35

Hope everything's ok small?
Was completely pointless going to bed last night. I was woken up by boob pain and couldn't settle for a variety of other reasons. Symptoms didn't get this strong last time with my MMC. Been awake since 2. Got a whole day of teaching to get through now and I'm really not sure how I'm going to get through a full day of teaching followed by a 6-9 parents' evening tomorrow.

happygojo · 27/01/2015 06:46

Hi small I hope everything is ok and that you managed to get some sleep. Text your midwife and/or call the hospital and they can hopefully put your mind at rest. Big hugs!

I hope everythings alright small. I'd definitely give your midwife a call for peace of mind - she'll get you in for a scan hopefully. Pregnancy is so scary! It might be completely different but I had a bit yesterday as I wiped and after much ferreting around I think I have a small cut or graze just in the entrance - goodness knows how that got there! Sending you hugs.

Treaclepie19 · 27/01/2015 07:48

Hope you're ok smallbear, could just be a sensitive cervix?
Let us know what they say x
