Last thread ended with a series of Really Good News, so let's hope this one keeps up the trend!

I have been brave (or stupid depending how you look at it) and booked my early scan (7weeks) and booking in (8 weeks). eek.

Hello Rebecca! You're in good company; I am a neurotic mess at the moment.

Scan at 4. Eeeek. Little bit more brown stuff today but nothing like the mc. Just realised though that the GP said they would want an FMU sample and I forgot Blush I hope they can accept a lunchtime dribble.

In other news I feel so, so sick. Seriously considering taking the rest of this week off.

Daft question one I should probably know the answer to as well lol but midwife said Today that baby is 4/5 engaged is that allot??

Got to have weekly bile acid tests now on top of the other stuff and see the gp for treatment for the itching Confused oh and it's looking like we are going to have to move again before baby makes her appearance :(

HollyBen · 20/01/2015 14:58

My understanding is that you are 5/5ths engaged when in labour, so you are as close as you get!!! Sorry to hear about more tests and that you might need to move again. You really don't need the extra stress.

Just back from 34 week growth scan. All looking good. Placenta is no longer low so looks like we are on for starting sweeps at 38/39 weeks with induction at term if required. This us feeling real!!!

happygojo · 20/01/2015 15:35

Hi Babytinx it depends on the midwife I think. It depends whether they can feel 4/5 of the babies head (as in 1/5 can't be felt because it is assuming the position) or whether she can only feel 1/5 of the head because it is very nearly time.

Either way that baby has got to come out!

Sorry you might have to move! nightmare!

Babytinx11 · 20/01/2015 16:37

That's fab news holly :)

I couldn't work out which way round it was happy I do know it feels like she is gonna fall out when I am walking lol.

Be glad when she is here now had enough but sweeps start at 38 weeks provided the consultant remembers to write it down when we see her at 36 weeks

Mslad · 20/01/2015 17:17

Holly Happy and Baby Sorry I can't contribute as I don't know anything about childbirth or the later stages of pregnancy, but hoping you're happy to be almost there Smile

commander hope all is ok and your scan went well?

CommanderShepard · 20/01/2015 17:50

4/5 engaged usually means 4/5 of the head is palpable.

I had my scan: she could see the sac and yolk straight away, but not much else so she thinks I'm not as far on as 6 weeks. She did say it all looked promising though, so I'll take that. Follow up scan next Friday.

I'm a liiiiiittle bit worried that I'm not measuring where I thought I would but then I don't know for sure when I ovulated (I did do an opk but I'm not good at reading them) so trying to put it out of my mind. Just such a relief to see something there, unlike last time.

Oh fuck. Is it normal to spot red after in internal scan?!

OP posts:
CommanderShepard · 20/01/2015 18:23

Phoned and they said it can happen and to try not to worry. God that was scary.

God it's such a roller coaster isn't it Commander. Sounds positive though. Hope you're able to relax a bit now x

CommanderShepard · 20/01/2015 19:03

Thanks worried - really bothered now though. Just when I thought it was going my way :(

Sending good thoughts commander.

Littlelady33 · 20/01/2015 19:54

Sending positive thoughts your way commander. So after promising myself to start enjoying things after a 12 week scan I'm worrying again! How on earth will I get to 20 weeks without going nuts??

cavamonster · 20/01/2015 19:57

commander I have always been told to expect to bleeding after internal scan so don't worry it is normal.

Flumpy2012 · 20/01/2015 21:19

It's such an emotional roller coaster!

I do need to say to all those who don't have children though. When I was pg with my Dd I had pain and bleeding from 4 weeks which happened randomly throughout my pregnancy, we had 17 scans, I had gestational diabetes, kidney problems, severe spd and ante natal depression. On 5/12/12 she was born, 5 weeks early after a 42 hour labour, delivered by ventouse. I was always told how hard being a mum is etc but from that moment we were just so relieved that the other was ok. I love being a mum, she's totally healthy, she had 1 cold last year and she goes to groups and nursery etc.

I need to hold on to this now when I'm anxious or nervous, because the odds were stacked against us then, and we made it and she is perfect even at terrible 2 :)

Just wanted to share.

Today we are pregnant x

50degreesintheshade · 21/01/2015 07:34

Good Morning everyone,

second scan today and apparently I am actually pregnant! we saw a baby at the scan and heard the heartbeat :-) I am measuring 8w5d and it all looks like a totally normal pregnancy, words I thought I would never hear after a cmp.
NT scan is booked for 4 weeks. Feels very strange to think that there is something normal and positive growing in my uterus.

commander, sending positive thoughts your way.

blankfornames · 21/01/2015 08:13

Commander, I had an early internal scan at 7 + 5. I was warned that I could bleed after but it would be due to the scanner and nothing else. Baby is well protected a lot further up!

longestlurkerever · 21/01/2015 08:39

Hope all is well commander.

Glad you had a good scan 50degrees - great news!

Little - I am afraid I still have wobbles at 21 weeks! Scanxiety replaced by lack-of-movement anxiety. Am trying to get a grip - dd got into a scrape last week, reminding me that it's not going to get any less stressful once baby is here so I need to find a way to relax.

That said I am more positive overall, excited even!

Hi Sunbathing I hope everything goes well tomorrow. I had a bit of a wobble last night. Me and my bf were discussing NT testing (by discussing I mean me talking, him shrugging) but it seems so silly to discuss this when I don't even know if there is a baby there.

My mum sent me a message saying she has found me a 'hospital grab bag' and she will bring it next time she visits (I live about 5 hours away). I know she means well and is all about the PMA but I am feeling the pressure to have a healthy baby at the 12 week scan - like the happiness of my family is reliant on me not having an MC.

It doesn't help that after my MC my MILs words of kindness included 'Your pregnancy was helping with my depression'....

apart from that I feel icky, tired and constipated and I only like breakfast foods (cereal, toast, crumpets, fruit)
