Last thread ended with a series of Really Good News, so let's hope this one keeps up the trend!

I did Flumpy. Had a clear but faint positive at 9dpo then took about a milion tests on 10dpo too.

With my mc last feb I didn't test until 18dpo because we'd had IUI and I was told not to (had slightly more will power back then). I got a really really faint squint at it under a bright light positive on an FRER. It never got any stronger and I never turned a Boots own brand test positive. The blood results then confirmed it was a no be starter and I lost it at 5 weeks.

Not sure what any of that actually means though. I think it may depend how late you ovulate and how soon after implantation you test. Since I got a positive at 9dpo this time I've been assuming I must have implanted around day 6.

worriedmum100 · 19/01/2015 21:13

I didn't find ICs very good. This time I didn't turn one positive until around 12 dpo despite my blood test on 9dpo confirming that my hcg level was over the level they were supposed to work at.

Flumpy2012 · 19/01/2015 21:14

Thanks cat. It was a clear blue test this time high was strong. Last time a first response which was faint. I guess I just expected it to be more faint at that stage.
Is it normal for symptoms to come and go then? I didn't know that.

I wish I could enjoy this more, I so want to. But today I am pregnant, and I'm grateful for that

Good point regarding consultant care, I have a RMC consultant who I see weekly but at some stage much later on I'll want to move over to my local hospital.

What are some of the reasons they advise consultant led?

Ah sunbathing that does help as it makes it pretty likely I will need to bring it up then as at 37, endometriosis, ashermans, on RMC protocol up to 34 weeks with clotting issues plus a heart disorder 3 years ago which tachycardia was one of the symptoms I suffered with before I had my ablation - think I'll prob be quite a strong candidate for consultant led!!

tannyLoo · 19/01/2015 22:30

Cava I have stayed under my RMC consultant throughout my pregnancy, but it isn't his only field of interest, iyswim. I'm due to see him again on Thursday at 34+2 when I'm hoping he'll sign me off his care and I can go to the local mlu for delivery. Apart from the early days when I was obviously high risk, I have had a healthy, normal pregnancy, so there's no real reason to keep me. Can feed back after that appointment if it helps any.

If you, or anyone else wants any specific support around RMC, then feel free to join us on the RMC thread. We are a mixture of TTC and pg at the moment and welcoming to newbies at all stages. I'd post a link, but I'm on my phone and not sure how to do it...Blush

tannyLoo · 19/01/2015 22:32

Damn! Took too long again! Sounds like you will need consultant led care after all...

CommanderShepard · 19/01/2015 22:36

I don't hold much truck with ICs either - I got my BFP this time on a Tesco test, although saying that I was about 15dpo.

Told MIL this evening. We don't have a history of getting on that well but we had a huge fight in the summer which cleared the air, and actually she did all the right things when I miscarried (which was basically not bring it up until I did). And she was great this time too; very positive and supportive. My mum, despite being a nurse, completely lost all tact and we had a huge fallout, so I'm holding off on telling her. Feels mean but it's self-preservation in case it goes wrong again.

Thanks tannyloo I lurk around the RMC thread as well, but trying to limit my usage and exposure to things that make me worry! Very much popping in and out at the moment. Smile

Flumpy2012 · 19/01/2015 22:44

Commander - I am doing the same with not telling my mum. She just told me my mc wasn't as bad as hers because I wAsnt as far along, tactful!

This time I've told no one except DP and mumsnet and I'm going to try and keep it that way

Perhaps it's a generation thing but these mums really don't seem to understand how much a mc or mmc can affect people. It's an awful experience to lose a baby whether you're 6 weeks or 20 weeks and I would never belittle someone's thoughts or feeling about it. You don't just forget how excited you felt, when you found out and the dates of how many weeks you should now be or the due date of that baby. Some people may move on have another baby and not even think about it and that's their right but for those of us who don't feel that way, it's such a. Shame that our loved ones don't seem very supportive or understanding of that.

I feel a bit sick and three lots going on in my abdomen which makes me happy as I feel pregnant!

Rebeccaelizabethxo · 20/01/2015 10:16

Hello everyone, I'm having a panic !! I'm 5 weeks today after 6 months of trying after a mmc. I have had such sore boobs for the last few days and today they feel pretty much back to normal, I remember I'm my mmc I lost my symptoms and now I'm worried history is repeating itself :(

Mslad · 20/01/2015 11:04

Hi rebecca sorry you're having a panic. From my experience, and reading others on here, symptoms really can come and go, so it's probably nothing to worry about, I'm sure they'll start hurting again at some point. if it helps, mine really hurt during my mmc pg, and didn't at all in this pregnancy, and yes it did worry me, I just tried to remind myself that the odds of history repeating themselves were much lower than the odds of everything being ok.

Interesting chat about mother's reactions....mine was extremely supportive during my mmc, but she found it hard to understand why I was so concerned in this pregnancy. Even though her first baby was stillborn at 7 months, she said she never worried at all through her second pregnancy- I can't imagine how she did it. I wish I had a stronger mindset like hers....Confused

Rebeccaelizabethxo · 20/01/2015 11:22

Thanks mslad. I keep trying to remind myself to keep positive and take each day as it comes !

It's nice to have support on here, so limited to who to turn to because after last time I haven't told any one about this pregnancy. Mslad how far along are you ?

Mine comes and goes Rebecca.
I had no sore boobs, then the past few days they've been really painful and today nothing again.

Rebeccaelizabethxo · 20/01/2015 11:40

Thank you ladies, this is all reassuring, I need to get out of my own head and off bloody google !! I never thought I'd be so paranoid ! Just keep reminding myself I'm young and healthy and there's no reason why I won't have a happy healthy pregnancy this time round, how ever the next 7 weeks will be torture ! Hope your all doing well :)

Flumpy2012 · 20/01/2015 11:45

Hello Rebecca, I'm just coming up to 5 weeks too and my symptoms come and go. It panics me the whole time, I had the same loss of symptoms with my mc. They do come back though, I can go all day with no nausea and go to bed very disappointed about things and then I have a huge wave of nausea or boob pain and then I feel better

Today we are pregnant!

Treaclepie19 · 20/01/2015 11:54

There's a few of us in the 5 week club to keep each other sane :)

Mslad · 20/01/2015 12:28

I'm 23 weeks rebecca I found I became very neurotic since my bfp, which has only eased slightly after my 20 week scan. My anxiety was made worse by getting some bad odds at the combined test, but thankfully they turned out fine. I wish some of us in the later stages had some great advice, but unfortunately I don't. It's really hard being in early pregnancy after a mc. this thread was a brilliant help as I could get honest feedback from people going through the same thing, instead of 'worst case scenario' from Dr Google. Otherwise, time will pass, even if it feel's like it isn't and do whatever it takes to distract yourself
