Last thread ended with a series of Really Good News, so let's hope this one keeps up the trend!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm very relieved to hear that the diareah is common.

I'm just taking the folic acid and vitamin d which is what my gp told me to take, I have a lot of pregnancies which I'll start at 8 weeks when these run out.

Commander I'm so sorry to hear you're so anxious, I feel exactly the same, I mc last month and every twinge makes me panic. I just keep telling myself that today I am pregnant and what will be will be no matter how much energy I waste worrying about it. Sometimes it helps and sometimes I just sit biting my nails and overthinking. Hugs

Flumpy2012 · 17/01/2015 22:42

Pregnancies = pregnacare!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 18/01/2015 08:03

Feeling a little scared today. Not sure how I'm going to get through to March! However, I don't want to go to a private scan again as it was so horrible being somewhere that isn't set up for bad news. Wish I was still naive like last time Confused

Flumpy2012 · 18/01/2015 10:55

Hugs doctor. Try not to look at the weeks ahead and focus on today. Today you're pregnant Smile

DoctorDonnaNoble · 18/01/2015 11:57

I hooked up my big girl pants and went and got some maternity bras in M and S. Only problem is if my boobs continue this way they'll be too small and then I'll stuck with the internet as nearest bravissimo is an hour on the train either way! You'd think they'd have more bravissimos in Essex! But no.

hestialou · 18/01/2015 12:24

Hey donna, I thought there was one at lakeside, maybe there used to be? Looks like a trip to oxford street ughh at least its not Christmas!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 18/01/2015 12:29

Lakeside's the other side of the county to me (north East Essex) and I'm not the biggest fan of the A12. I've driven on it twice in the three years since I passed my test (cowardly I know). I usually go to Norwich out of preference. Less stressful than London or Lakeside. Think I know what I'm doing this half term! (Hopefully)

twilightstruggle · 18/01/2015 12:58

I'm in North East Essex too! Colchester to be specific.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 18/01/2015 13:36

Twilight - me too! Grin

twilightstruggle · 18/01/2015 14:15

How exciting. Maybe we'll be in the same nct or whatever class!

happygojo · 18/01/2015 14:28

Hi everyone. I feel the a12 pain, I live just south of Lowestoft. Anyway... I had a question about anaemia. I have never been prone to it but I have dry itchy skin, and I am more pale than normal (taking on a slightly blue/grey/transparent hue), and my lips are cracked. I am also tired and have no attention span at all! Is this just winter and early preg joy? (I am 9+6) I am not taking pregnacare or similar just taking folic acid and vit D instead as preg vitamins make me really constipated! And I already get chronic constipation without being pregnant. Anyway any advice gratefully received. I am booking in with my MW tomorrow so will ask her too

DoctorDonnaNoble · 18/01/2015 15:14

Maybe twilight.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 18/01/2015 15:48

Ooh posted abruptly there as my trainee came back from the toilet (we're were out for lunch). It would be lovely in a weird way to have a familiar person at class who had been through the same.
I also have constantly dry lips but I think it's because I'm getting really dehydrated no matter how hard I try!Confused

charlieis30 · 18/01/2015 15:54

happy I think they test blood iron at booking in so that should tell you. I have low blood pressure so docs always think I'll have anaemia and they normally check the inside of my bottom eyelids, I think if that's really pale it's a sign.
I think I heard that the liquid iron stuff that comes in bottles is less likely to make you constipated, so perhaps try that? Otherwise TBH it could easily be pregnancy stuff. I get very very dizzy at the moment (have since about wk7, I'm now at wk13) and dry lips, and i have an itchy rash on my belly which the GP said not to worry about. I'm trying to drink lots of water in case it's partly just dehydration. But defo ask your MW tomorrow.

HollyBen · 18/01/2015 16:11

The midwife should do a blood test for anemia at your booking happy. I am usually borderline anemic but midwife hasn't been concerned. Last few weeks i have been feeling exhausted with really heavy limbs and constant thirst. Some of the ladies on my ante natal thread recommended spa tone which is a natural iron supplement. I got some in Tesco yesterday. Only taken one today so can't personal comment yet. I have a mw apt on Thursday so will ask her then

caley1 · 18/01/2015 18:08

Hello ladies, may I join you?
I am currently 10+1 weeks, due 15th August. My first pregnancy ended in mc at 11 weeks, I have since had ds1 who is 9 and ds2 who is 5. Had a mmc in August, started spotting at 9 weeks and a scan revealed baby had died at 6 weeks. We were given a scan last week at 9+2 and all looked lovely, strong hb, moving its arms and legs.
I have my 12 week scan on 5th February.
I don't know why but I almost feel more nervous now I have seen that there really is a living little bean in there. I think before the scan I had managed to get by just with the not knowing not really believing it yet feeling.
So although I am hopeful I am quite nervous at the moment. Thought this seemed like a lovely thread to come to for a bit of moral support. I have been lurking a while and love how you keep each other strong.

worriedmum100 · 18/01/2015 18:53

Welcome Caley!

I've only been on the thread a little while but I already feel glad it's here.

Feeling wobbly today. Have had hardly any symptoms and a nagging sharpish kind of pain in my groin. I feel less pregnant than I did a few days ago. Still testing strong positive but I just can't relax. Sad

longestlurkerever · 18/01/2015 19:01

Welcome Caley! Congratulations on your flickering bean. Yes, this is a supportive thread. We understand the bitterness.

longestlurkerever · 18/01/2015 19:02

Jitteriness, even. Posting fail!

caley1 · 18/01/2015 19:40

Thank you for your welcomes.
Worriedmum I had that at the start of all my pregnancies. Niggly sharp pains. I think it is just everything stretching. It is the hardest time before any symptoms kick in.

worried I was having sharp pains like being stabbed with a knitting needle (some were strong enough to take my breath away) around weeks 4-6. EPU scanned me and all fine, they suggested it was either my corpus luteum cyst or just stretching as caley says.
Also, weirdly, I think I've mistaken digestive issues as uterine issues quite a lot in this pregnancy. Like today (around 13.3) I've been having some pains but I'm almost certain it's just my digestive system acting up. When it's all in the same general zone is can be hard to tell as pain refers around.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 18/01/2015 20:43

My digestive system has gone totally to pot! At the in-laws for a curry and my stomach has been gurgling away like anything! I'm so bloody gassy I'm surprised people aren't asking what's wrong. I only had a korma. Confused

Flumpy2012 · 19/01/2015 06:27

Welcome Caley, I've only just joined too. I worry about every moment when my tummy is not feeling crampy or I'm not feeling sick and I'm only 4+3
I've decided to be positive and count down rather than up. So 35 weeks 4 days maximum to go! That's only 36 more Monday's and they're always coming around!!
Dd is still asleep but she's poorly and woke for medicine at 5! And I haven't been able to settle again since!

worriedmum100 · 19/01/2015 07:49

God I need to step away from all plastic stick like items. I took my temp this morning (I know I know). Anyway there was a drop. Shit shit shit. I'm going to obsess over this now. On way to clinic for a further hcg level check so I guess that will give me my answer. Sad
