Welcome along and congratulations! Today you are pregnant!

Well I had a funny old night... Some sex after a bit of a drought triggered over an hour of braxton hicks contractions only 3 minutes apart! Although I knew they were BH, it still got me a bit worried, especially as the got a bit painful, with backache and period pain type feelings.

They went off, and am back to regular irregular BH, but was a bit of a shock! Might ask the MW about it, as I really don't want to have a drought for the rest of the pregnancy...

Broody cross posts! You must be so pleased to be feeling symptoms. There'll be some jealous early birds here, as it's been anxiety provoking for them when symptoms have dropped off for a bit. The early days are such hard work!

I've had a healthy but anxious pregnancy so far, and am due 3 March, which suddenly doesn't feel far away.

Really very pleased for you, keep us posted about how many are in there!

Welcome newbies!

Fingers crossed for you baby All sounds a bit scary but sounding positive. Hoping the next 11 weeks are trouble free.

Eeeeeeeeekkkk!! 11 weeks to go. Really must start at least thinking about getting organised.

longestlurkerever · 14/12/2014 17:18

Sex always triggered bh for me with dd. Not as extreme as you describe Tanny but I never had any at all any other time.

Welcome and congratulations trees and broody. May your beans be sticky. We are due some twins on the thread! X

How have things been with you tanny?

longestlurkerever · 14/12/2014 22:56

Glad you're home and less sick at least baby.

tannyLoo · 15/12/2014 07:22

Baby, Glad you have the time for (some) rest. It all helps! Keep going, we all have pom poms waving for you...

We're fine, usual hiccups along the way, and started waddling on Friday, but actually not a bad pregnancy. Just struggling to work and function through tiredness and distractedness and heaving myself around.

If only I could relax and enjoy it!

I have a consultant appt in Jan and hoping to have a scan and get a birth plan together.

Welcome newbies . Lovely to see you all here. Past MC can make pregnancy, especially the first trimester a very anxious place but we're all here for you. This thread has been such a help to me and I'm finally feeling a bit more relaxed at 15 weeks (although getting a some scanxious rumblings about my 20 week scan in January!)

Baby glad you're home. I hope the feeling better continues and that you can rest up a bit.

charlieis30 · 15/12/2014 08:11

Morning all! 8w scan in less than an hour, my heart has been going 100 miles an hour for about the last 30 mins. This is where it's all gone wrong in the past. Wish me luck xxx

Good luck charlie!

Glad you're doing well tanny. Did you get the consultant appt for any particular reason? My appt schedule says only midwife appts ahead... 29 weeks today.

Phryn · 15/12/2014 08:20

Good luck Charlie - thinking of you today and hoping all goes well.

tannyLoo · 15/12/2014 08:29

Hi Silver, thanks. I've had consultant led care because of my RMC issues, so at the beginning of this pg, was being closely monitored because of the treatment I was receiving. Early scans showed a low lying placenta and I'm 42, so I'm a geriatric mum. I think (hope) my appt with him will be the last one, my placenta has shifted enough and my pg has been healthy, so I can transfer back to midwife team for the rest. It will be nice to see him once more though, I've been through so much with him, and I think we both thought I'd never get this far... Smile

So. Hello all! Sorry it's been so long, but it will all make sense.

Went in for induction on Wednesday, & was given pessary. By 8pm was having regular contractions which lasted overnight. 2 mins apart. These started slowing down in the morning, and they wanted to put in the gel, ur the doctor was really busy,, and was 6 hours late, by which point they had pretty much stopped. Had 2x 6hr gels and nothing, so they planned to break my waters as I was 2cm.
Friday however, they closed to delivery suite to new admissions for 5 hours as they were overun. I went down on Saturday morning -having been at the hospital now for 3 days at this point.

They broke my waters and put me onto the drip. I went from 0-100 in about 30 mins. After 4 hours of back to back stronger contractions I had an epidural. Heavenly, until baby started to get into distress. By 10pm I was only 4cm & baby didn't like me on my back. Doc said that If I wasn't 6cm by 1am I would need an emergency c-section.

1am (after the longest 3 hours ever) came, and I will still 4, with baby getting more distressed, so we went. I was soo nervous. And was shaking through the whole thing, visably shacking.after 10 mins, baby Birt was born crying at 2.21am and I was sobbing I was so relieved.he weighed 7lb 3oz. No-where near the 9lb 38 week whopper they predicted!!!
I didn't
T realise however the c-sec goes on for about an hour, and it was horrid! But the worse, is the recovery. The midwives and nurses are being amazing, but I am in agony! Barley able to walk! No driving for 6 weeks and be careful picking up my new son!!

So, for the stats Alexander William, born 14/12/14, 7lb 3oz.

Good luck to all, to those early birds, I was nervous throughout, but positive thinking does help :)

GailLondon · 15/12/2014 08:36

Hello Broody I recognise you from the TTC thread!!! So happy to see you here!! Hope the booking in appointment goes well.

Im 34 weeks now (hurray!!)) People keep asking me if it is going quickly....it really isnt!! probably because I've been pregnant for over a year now as my last pregnancy lasted until 13 weeks, then a fairly short gap, then pregnant again with this baby. So I have spent pretty much all of 2014 pregnant and sober :)

Off for my 34 week midwife appointment this morning and will be interested to see which way round baby is positioned. He was breech, but spent all of Thursday in what I think was transverse position as I had two big lumps sticking out either side of my stomach. It was excruciatingly painful! And I had 10 new stretchmarks appear that afternoon! So Im hoping he's managed to get himself head down after all that.

charlieis30 · 15/12/2014 09:44

All good! Baby measuring 8.1, 2 days ahead with nice strong hb and everything else looking good! Relief!

Hello to everyone else Grin

Rikalaily · 15/12/2014 11:00

Congratulations Liesal!

So pleased that the scan went well Charlie

All seems to be well so far with this pregnancy. I'm 5+1 and yesterday I got a 3+ on a CB digi. Hoping to book a reassurance scan for in the New Year... Seem to have thrush though doh.

charlieis30 · 15/12/2014 13:05

Thanks team! DH and I had agreed before scan that if it was ok we'd just enjoy being pregnant and try not to worry too much. I'm absolutely done in today, I hadn't been sleeping well as I guess I was worrying and MS seems to have kicked in with a vengeance. Taking a cheeky sick day to just try to chill, but can't even be bothered to get up and eat!

Liesal70, BIG congrats!! Well done, you've been through quite a lot, hope the joy of holding baby Birt had wiped away all the pain CakeFlowers

Charlieis30 so genuinely happy for you. You must've been a nervous wreck. I dread my scan day so much I can't even describe the sheer terror. You have to enjoy it now!
