Tori, that is exactly how i feel. After being on 5 different types of antibiotics in hospital, I don't want to put anything else unnatural into my body!

tannyLoo · 06/01/2015 07:54

Blank, I was proactive and booked an appointment at around 12 weeks to have the flu jab, but my ditzy brain means I missed it. I felt really embarrassed, as I have a thing about missed appts, so couldn't bring myself to rearrangedBlush

Thing is, I don't really get flu. I get about 2-5 colds a year, but I've probably only had flu three times in my life, and the last time was in Thailand in 2011, so I guess I'm not very susceptible. That had some bearing on my decision not to go back, and now I'm 32 weeks, it seems to make little sense.

Babytinx11 · 06/01/2015 08:10

I had the flu jab last week bit late but had it same time as my whooping cough again a bit late but I figured with everything else the last thing I need is to get flu on top. From what my midwife said though it's something they advise rather than something you have to have Smile

How's it's going this morning mummytogoldie

longestlurkerever · 06/01/2015 14:39

charlie - I totally HATE that reaction when you tell people before 12 weeks. It's your body - why should you have engage in lies and subterfuge if that isn't your choice? As if we haven't got enough stress to deal with. Why has it become a rule, rather than an individual choice?

Feeling a bit wobbly today. Not felt many movements the last couple of days and some disconcerting stomach pains. Also there is no hiding it now and, despite what I said above, EVERYONE knowing feels a bit of a hostage to fortune...

Next scan a week today but think I'll be getting the doppler out tonight, though have a friend staying so a bit awkward.

Welcome newbies. May your pregnancies be smooth.

50degreesintheshade · 06/01/2015 15:26

Well I went to see my lovely Dr and was rushed through for a scan and apparently there is a baby! It seems quite surreal as I was so sure that it would just be the cancer back.

I have to go for another scan in two weeks and have been given some medication to take for the next 3 months.

I think it will take a few days for the news to sink in as even though the sonographer and consultant was explaining everything in great detail I just couldn't believe it.

Hope everyone is having a good day :-)

Mslad · 06/01/2015 15:47

aww lovely 50degrees that's great news. Hope it sinks in for you soon, and you have a very uneventful pregnancy Smile

Hope you're ok longest I think movements are supposed to be irregular for a good while? baby could be facing backwards and kicking that way? (I've hardly had any movement, so I can't really advise). I totally agree with you about the pre 12 week sharing. It's so annoying that it's almost obligatory to hide it, especially when you're usually feeling so awful.

I have my 21 week scan tomorrow morning and I have become a nervous wreck about it (first time in weeks I don't have constipation! Blush )! I've convinced myself that there'll be bad news. It seems like a very long time since my 12 week scan.

Littlelady33 · 06/01/2015 16:00

Thrilled for you 50degrees!!

thesmallbear · 06/01/2015 18:31

Oh I hate all this 12 week crap as well. Especially as you had a scan at 10 weeks charlie. It's only 12 weeks because that's when you have a scan to confirm everything - if you've had one at 10 weeks it really not that much difference.

And so what if people decide to tell before a scan... If I MC I'd rather not have to pretend that nothing's happened when the shittest thing in my life has just happened. It's the only form of grief people are expected to go through on their own!

thesmallbear · 06/01/2015 18:33

Great news 50degrees.

Yay 50! So pleased for you.

I've not told a soul about being pg (apart from dh and mw, obvs!) but you're right small, it means that if I mc again before my 12 week scan (next Wednesday, when I'll be 12+6), it'll be a bolt out of the blue to those I need to rely on to get me through again. I did discuss telling our parents but dh was v much against the idea again caused a few hmph and strops actually so I haven't in the end. Just want to get good news next week then it won't matter...

Littlelady33 · 06/01/2015 19:58

Broody I'm also desperately hoping for some good news next week - what date is your scan? I wonder how close our EDDs will end up being after all Smile

Mummytogoldie · 06/01/2015 21:00

I haven't told many yet but I am going to start to as when I had the mc I hadn't told people and then had to tell everyone anyway cos they had to help with dc!

longestlurkerever · 06/01/2015 22:29

Great news 50! Thanks mslad. After that whinge baby has been kicking again this evening so all good apart from a bit of scanxiety.

blankfornames · 07/01/2015 08:16

Happy days 50!

Broody, we went for a private scan this time at 7+5. It gave us reassurance but also we both told our parents as we figured we would need the support if anything went wrong again. We never mentionned the MC the previous time until only very recently and they couldn't believe we hadn't spoken about it. I just found it comforting this time knowing. It's a hard one though.

longestlurkerever · 07/01/2015 08:16

Bah, ill. Was up half the night coughing.

On the upside I have a friend staying and I have told work I won't be logging on this afternoon while dd is at nursery so we are off for a leisurely adult lunch.

And I rashly told dsis I would store her wedding dress for her and it just arrived and looks gorgeous so I am getting vicariously excited about that. She found a bargain on ebay. It is in perfect nick. Feel all teary thinking by the time it comes around my family might be complete...

broodylicious · 07/01/2015 08:33

Sympathies longest. Think the coughs are going round. Flippin miserable isn't it?Hmm dd has had one for nearly a week now and she had a few nights where she just couldn't sleep. Vicks rubbed on her feet didn't work this time eitherConfused Hope you're feeling better soon x

Well, I'm 11+6 today. The dates I started to mc last time, with those horrid spots of bright red. Feeling v v anxious and teary. Scan isn't until next Wednesday (14th)... that'll be another worry because my 12 week scan last time was bang on 12 weeks and so I turned up to the appointment literally a few hours after I'd finished passing the baby. Devastated.

Littlelady33 · 07/01/2015 08:36

Broody it's horrible I know - I found h time around 10+2 horrendous as that's when I started to mc last time. I've also been plagued by the most vivid dreams about blood, awful. It's normal to feel teary take it easy on yourself today. My 12 week scan is on Tuesday (would have been this week but we are away for a few days) and the wait is utter torture

longestlurkerever · 07/01/2015 08:56

Hugs broody. After today you will be further than last time. Try and keep yourself distracted to get through today.

Hugs broody, getting past your danger zone is fraught with anxiety, but you have done well to get this far, and this is a different pregnancy. Good luck with distractions, and yes, tomorrow you will be further than your last pregnancy! Smile

I have an poorly boy at home, so no work. Not very unhappy about it tbh, except that he turns into a mini house wreaking despot... I've also given notice that I'm going to start maternity leave on 30th Jan (less than a month away!!!!!!!) so I guess this is actually happening. Don't quite know how we're going to survive financially (niche market for pg birds quite limited!), but hey ho...

Mummytogoldie · 07/01/2015 13:47

Well now I am really confused bloods came back at 17545!!!!! Which is high for supposedly being 5 weeks. Scan bought forward to Friday. So confusing I only miscarried the 1st December - strange. What can cause high hormone levels?
