aftynoon ladies, hows everyone coping?

Just a quick question/advice...how do you cope with the date you last lost your previous baby?
(im at 6w1d the exact time i lost our last pregnancy...all day ive been tucked up in bed, terrified to move! however this time last pregnancy i was doubled over on the sofa with horrendous cramps, and spotting puking into a bucket with the pain...this time no spotting, no cramps just sore boobs and very queasy with morning sickness) Im terrified to go back to work on monday just in case something happens.

Its quite exhausting all the worry. :(

Babytinx11 · 03/01/2015 17:22

elley honestly when I got to the stage where I lost my last baby I just tried to pretend it wasn't happening and freaked out on here. It's really scary sending massive hugs just remember today your pregnant :).

Finally got an answer from the hospital they said wait till Monday and see my gp unless it gets worse

charlieis30 · 03/01/2015 18:02

elley its perfectly reasonable to be worried around the time you lost another baby. i just tried to keep my mind off it, but i actually had 2 losses at completely different times so i didn't have quite the same fear. Tbh now I'm further than I've ever been and it's all looking good but I'm still terrified. Sorry not so helpful eh?

I'm finding my due date thread a bit of a struggle there are still 6 months to go but the chat is all about buggies and other stuff to buy. It makes me sad that I still think "there's still heaps of time for things to go wrong" rather than just enjoying it...even though today I am pregnant!

charlie I soo get what you're saying, my thread is the same. I completely skip through /ignore all talk of buying stuff. If my 21 scan goes well this week (even typing that makes me nervous) then we plan to do a quick budget plan of what we'll need & then will not even think about getting them till much closer.

elley hope you're ok, and hope you'll feel better after today. Mine was an mmc so it was scan day that frightened me. Sorry for not being too helpful, but the chances of history repeating itself in the exact same way is unlikely. Flowers

broodylicious · 03/01/2015 19:01

charlie, I'm sooooo pleased you said that!!! Looking at pushchairs and buying clothes at 12/13 weeks is madness to me. I was starting to think I was being just grumpy Ol me, so pleased you feel the sameSmile

broodylicious · 03/01/2015 19:03

Oh lord, just read that back - I didn't mean you were being grumpy! ?????? sorry hun x

tannyLoo · 03/01/2015 19:19

My AN thread is the same! I read an interesting article about people spending more time thinking about buggies than about giving birth! Craziness...

I also pissed off the same group on FB by getting a bit grumpy and defensive about Count the Kicks, so decided to retreat from the "everything is awesome" group all together.

Never mind, eh?

longestlurkerever · 03/01/2015 19:36

I have dropped off mine too. Every one is ahead of me anyway as my edd is right at the end of the month and I was just getting jealous of them feeling kicks and having their scans. And I have most stuff I need, assuming mice haven't attacked the loft. It was only meant to be up there a few months.

Haha! That's so true, tanny! No doubt there will be talk of hospital bag packing once we have the 15/6 week bloods out the way Wink

broodylicious · 03/01/2015 20:00

That's my plan of action sunbathing - we have neutral stuff from dd which will be more than suitable for the first few weeks. Think we may even still have unopened boxes of first size nappies too! Even if we didn't have previous stuff, people love to buy baby clothes once he/she has arrived, so what's the need for a mad rush now?! January sales, yeah, you might a good deal but ime, you forget about stuff you've bought and then end up buying twice as much further down the line. False economy my dad would say!

Good start llama! Everything crossed for you. X

Babytinx11 · 03/01/2015 20:14

Listening to you guys talk about people shopping at 12/13 weeks made me giggle 8 weeks left and I am only just starting to get started on clearing the spare room so I can start shopping so keeping everything crossed she doesn't arrive early inspite of what the docs have said about that. Coz if she does she'll be naked and sleeping in the sock drawer lol suppose I should get my butt in gear but even at almost 32 weeks it's a bit scary

CallingAllEngels · 03/01/2015 20:15

Not stalkerish at all tanny ! We were on the same pg after mc thread in Oct 13 when I had my last mc as well.

Yes mslad that's who I thought you were. lovely to see you here!

I know exactly what you all man about tempting fate and wanting to wait before buying things or thinking about hospital bags etc. This time we were lucky to get an early scan at 8w which was later than both of our losses. Once I reached that stage I relaxed to a certain extent, but even now I won't be happy until he or she is here. I really freaked out last week when baby had a quiet 24 hours, especially since I'd fallen over that afternoon in the ice.

elley I tried to keep busy and be with other people. If I was alone my mind would just wander.

Hoping I can update you soon ladies but could be a week (am 40+6 today).

broodylicious · 03/01/2015 20:22

Great news envious! So pleased for you ThanksThanks

baby, I was like that when we were pg with dd - everyone kept saying she'd be sleeping in our drawer and I used to say I was sure that's where babies in the old days used to sleep before all these useless Moses baskets were invented! Lol! You'll be fine, don't worrySmile

I'm SO glad to hear you all say this and I now feel like less of an awful person for hating my AN thread and leaving after one post. There was talk of buying maternity clothes at 4 weeks and I just couldn't hack it. Although I'm staying quite positive I felt like a constant harbinger of doom compared to everyone else so I disappeared quietly

Obvs though little, you didn't hate me on our AN threadWinkGrin xx

Babytinx11 · 04/01/2015 00:18

I haven't joined an antenatal thread Hmm can you believe though even with how many times I've been admitted I don't have a hospital bag packed Hmm think maybe I should do that. It is nice to hear it's not just me though :)

Mummytogoldie · 04/01/2015 01:17

So I am awake into the early hours again, I can't stop worrying about miscarrying :( hopefully it will get better if I make it past Monday CIA that's the point I miscarried last time . I hate this, pregnancy is supposed to be an exciting time

happygojo · 04/01/2015 07:09

Hi goldie we all worry. Monday is the day that last time I found out about my MC (blighted ovum). Not going for an early scan this time.... Well I am still debating that in my head. It's hard but you have support here. I hope you managed to get some sleep xxx
