Oh and to all those worrying about their symptoms going - I freaked when my nausea pretty much went way before the 12 week mark. But had a scan at about 9 and half weeks and the bean was wiggling away in there. I think the symptoms we get and when they start and stop are just really individual.

Hi all. Not swung by here much over the last few days - this sickness, while much welcomed, is just bleurgh! I'm so grateful of the symptom but mint matchmakers will never pass these lips again after rather a violent bout of puking tonightShock

I had my booking in appt on Sunday. All went fine apart from - inevitably - the bit where she asked about previous pregnancies. I just burst out crying, I couldn't help it; even though I mc on feb 27, every time I think or talk about it, it's like it happened yesterday and it just hurts me so much all over again. Does anyone else feel like that? I know I'll never forget our baby that was too beautiful for this earth, like I know you ladies won't ever forget your bubbas either, but I just wonder if I'm crazy sensitive, getting so upset by it all this time afterwards? Is this normal? Pg hormones defo have a hand in it all too I'm sure....

Hugs to those who need them..... Oh stuff that, we are preggo right now, ladies, hugs and positive high fives to all of youSmile

Thanks Sunbathing. The thing is I didn't want to be the one who brought up her card and collection, but I was worried that if I didn't say anything, no one else would remember and she'd end up with nothing. Despite it being difficult watching her bloom after my MC, I actually like the woman and don't want her to leave empty handed. I was also worried that maybe a card hadn't gone round for fear of upsetting me, so wanted to let on I was ok with a card etc. However, after today I think they'd actually just forgotten.

Also, even if I was completely ok with shopping for her, I have booked tomorrow off to do my Christmas shopping. Because I'm so tired at the moment, I can only mange to buy a few items at a time and then I have to come home for a rest. I doubt I'll have the energy to finish my Christmas shopping and shop for her as well!

Maybe they thought I'd find baby shopping fun as I'm preggers. I would have def told them to stick it if I wasn't pregnant again, as I would have found it impossible!

I think it's normal broody Flowers

WrappedInABlankie · 16/12/2014 20:10

I haven't been on here for a while, hope everyone is okay and so is there pregnancy (I haven't read the ft)

I had my nuchal scan yesterday spent the previous three days worrying myself stupid it would be a mmc I even nearly booked a scan on Friday to check everything was okay, but managed to stop myself. The sickness has been horrendous I've had to take anti-sickness tablets daily otherwise I'm sick after every day we think it could be a girl as everyone gets really sick in pregnancy with girls

Anyway, it went really well! everything was okay despite me worrying. Nuchal translucency was 1.7 so within normal range I think and they and part from being sent a letter saying photos where £4.50 for 4 and they were £10! Or £5 for 2 it was nice!

I understand Broody. I saw some friends at the weekend who have massive bumps and talking about their birth plans and even though I am pregnant again I found it quite hard to listen to knowing in a different life I could have been at that stage and would never really have known the heartbreak and fear of recurrent miscarriage. Oh well, I am sure once our babies are here it will be easier as we won't wish them to be any different, or older than they are.

16 week appointment tomorrow. Am a bit nervous. Hope she listens for the hb and hope all is ok. I think I have felt quite a few movements now but still half expecting to be told I have imagined it.

Quick query for you guys. we're doing the hospital and midwife unit visits this week. does anyone have a list of questions to ask?

Treesandbees · 17/12/2014 09:28

Hi everyone,

I have been lurking as a newbie but could do with some reassurance today! I am 5 weeks pregnant today so have managed to be pregnant for 1 whole week! I had a mc at 9 weeks in 2012, then went on to have my DS in 2013. I was on this board after the mc and it was a huge support. This time around we have been ttc for 10 months which has been stressful and just when we had been referred to the fertility clinic (I have a chronic kidney condition so dont have all the time in the world to conceive) I fell pregnant. The problem is that I just dont feel pregnant and I am convinced that I am going to mc. I just feel that every day I am waiting for the bleeding to start. I am trying to tell myself that 'every pregnancy is different' but the words are a bit hollow at the moment. With my DS I had so many symptoms, particularly very sore boobs from the start. This time I have had a few cramps, particularly strong around implantation, but no sore boobs. The odd wave of nausea but nothing really noticeable. Like some of you I have been doing a lot of boob prodding! I have also taken tonnes of pg tests which have got darker (my only reassurance)

Do you think I should go for an early scan? I am worried that it wont change the outcome but maybe it would be better to know sooner rather than later if something is wrong? I cant ignore these feelings, Im finding it harder than when I got pg after my mc with DS. Maybe as we tried for so much longer.

Sorry for the long post!

Silver we didn't ask tonnes of questions but as they explain most of what you need to know. It was good to see the place and familarise yourselves with the parking arrangements/rooms etc. It will make it feel very real when you see it!

Skinnylegs33 · 17/12/2014 10:05

Sorry Silverine, never got to that point I'm afraid.
Treesandbees, helloSmile
I think you are quite early to feel any significant symptoms. Mine started at 5 and a half to 6. I chose to wait for as much as I can because last time the pregnancy stopped progressing at 7w4d and I went for a scan at 7w6d. Should I have went 3 days earlier I would have seen a hb and then would have lost it anyway, falsely believing all was good.
I don't know if it's the right thing to do but Ill try waiting this time.

GailLondon · 17/12/2014 11:35

Hey Everyone!

Wow - I'm really creeping up that stats list now - eeek!
Had my 34 week midwife appointment on Monday , and little fella has turned from breech to the correct position which is a relief! DS1 left it pretty late and only just turned at 38 weeks, the day before I would have been referred for an ECV which I was not looking forward to. So lets hope this one can stay head down from now on.

Silver - hope your hospital visits go well! Make sure you find out about parking, what payment is needed etc, I always stress about that kind of thing. Also make sure you find how to get to triage/reception/assessment desk from the front door, so you know exactly where to go when you stagger in in full labour feeling a bit dazed!

charlieis30 · 17/12/2014 12:35

I didn't know checking out the hospital was a thing... I live equidistant between 2 so I just went with the GP's recommendation! But I'm in London so things like parking aren't so important, I'm going to be the woman in labour in the back of a black cab!

OP posts:
Skinnylegs33 · 17/12/2014 13:04

Charliesis30 I've found out on mumsnet that I could chose and self refer.
When does the hospital visit happen, at what stage?

7 weeks today.
Had a tummy pain episode this morning that woke me up with a sense of dread. I vividly remembered my first pregnancy and consequently mmc. Feel very teary now.
Breast soreness also gone and not much nausea left SadSad

charlieis30 · 17/12/2014 14:39

Sorry I wan't clear - I knew I could choose, I just figure it probably doesn't matter that much, mine both have similar stats and they're both normal NHS ones. I actually ended up choosing the one where I didn't have my ERPC (not because of any emotional reason, my experience there was as good as it could have possibly been under the circs). But GP had previously worked at that hosp and said that I'd probably be considered high risk so posibly given extra care so I just went with it!

My first appt, booking in, will be when I'm bang on 10w.

OP posts:
longestlurkerever · 17/12/2014 15:25

My hospital doesn't do tours any more but I suppose I would be interested to know stuff like do they have a birth centre, birth pools etc, what is their policy on dads staying and do they do active birthing etc. Mostly it's just a chance to familiarise yourself with where you will be and where the entrance is etc.

Waiting for my appointment now.

Welcome trees. I honestly didn't feel symptoms for ages. I would recommend an early scan though. It won't make your anxiety vanish but will help a bit. You might be entitled to one on the nhs depending on your trust's policy.

longestlurkerever · 17/12/2014 15:56

All good at 16 week appointment Grin

Skinnylegs33 · 17/12/2014 16:01

Yay longest !!! Well done! This should give you a peaceful holiday. Can relax now.

catbus · 17/12/2014 16:44

trees welcome and yes, push for a scan, if only for your sanity!
longest great news Smile
silver I imagine it's just to familiarise yourself- I've not birthed in hospital before but have a feeling this time around they will want me to, so may get a tour also Smile
skinny how are you feeling now? Try not to panic- symptoms for me have lessened on and off. It can really wobble you out eh- try and stay positive and distract yourself as much as possible. Hugs x
