This is my second baby (DD has just turned 2) and I'm finding these last few weeks a real drag! I'm tired, my back hurts and I just want to get on with it.

Anyone else fancy a moan? Blush

Can I join? 38+2 with dc2, having lots of period type pains for the last few days. I was induced with ds so I'm not really sure how to expect things to start. Pains start in my lower back n move round to front, last a couple of hours then stop. Midwife said its babies head pounding on my cervix?? Pound some more baby!!!

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 17/11/2014 13:07

Glad I've found this thread and I'm not the only one waiting. Everyone else seems to be having their babies except me. Grin I'm 38+5 and completely sick of being pregnant now - and I feel bad saying that as I've had an easy time of it so far but I'm just so done now.

Ds was born at 39+3 so I'm really hoping I haven't got long to wait.

RumAppleGinger · 17/11/2014 13:28

Morning,
Just back from a long walk and plan on a decent cleaning session this afternoon, so bored of waiting for this baby to make an appearance!

That's not good Tricia, surely your wife having a baby trumps any work duties? Is there definitely no way he can get out of it? There is if course every chance you will go before Monday, fingers crossed.

Hi mumineed and pourquoi. Of course you're welcome to join however if you have your babies before me I will be pissed! Grin

DS(3) is convinced the baby will arrive on his birthday (Friday) and is very insistent that that happens. I think if that does happen in years to come he will resent it but at least I'll be able to get away with only doing one party! Maybe I could just buy one present for whichever one has been the most well behaved too! evil laugh

TriciaMcM · 17/11/2014 14:17

Hi new people!

He's self employed Rum & it's potentially a big thing that could be great for us as a family so I don't want him to miss it if at all possible. I won't be turning down a sweep at my appt tomorrow though, even though I'm still quite sceptical about them! I also might force myself to down a spicy curry. I'm probably just being silly, obviously have 6 days for baby to arrive first but I'm getting more irrational the further over I go (6 days now and counting)

DCs often seem to be share birthdays, not sure why but i know of several. Maybe your DS is on to something!

ButterMelonCauliflower · 18/11/2014 07:30

Hello all, just wanted to let you know DD made her appearance at 41+1 yesterday morning. All over in 6 hours so quite different to her brother who took 26! Hoping to be discharged soon. Hope you are all ok and not kept waiting too much longer x

RumAppleGinger · 18/11/2014 07:47

Wonderful news butter! Congratulations, hope you get home soon.

TriciaMcM · 18/11/2014 09:01

Congrats Butter! 6 hours sounds a lot better than 26 so maybe worth the extra wait Flowers

MumaBex · 18/11/2014 11:58

Morning all. DD2 A.K.A Maggie came along yesterday at 5.09am. After being a week late she decided she would make a quick getaway. Woken up by contractions at 2, got to the hospital just after 4 and by 5.09 she was out. Now home and enjoying some cuddles.
Well done and huge congrats to butters big and tiny hugs to both of you XxX

RumAppleGinger · 18/11/2014 13:28

Yay! Congratulation Bex! So glad she's out and you're all home safely. Love the name too.

TriciaMcM · 18/11/2014 15:19

Excellent news! Congrats Mumabex! Love the name Maggie too Flowers

DuckandCat · 18/11/2014 18:29

She was in such a rush that she was still in her membranes when she came out.
Hope more babies make an appearance soon. X

RumAppleGinger · 19/11/2014 10:58

You and me both Bex! Hope you're enjoying the first few days with her.

That's me hit my due date so of course today I have been bombarded with text and messages asking where the baby is! I've decided to hit 4oD for reruns of OBEM to try and encourage my body along with things!

How you doing Tricia? Still with me?

mumineedapooooo · 19/11/2014 12:13

Feeling for u overdue ladies.
I think baby has moved down some more (was 2/5s Monday) can feel it on my tail bone when I walk and lots of grinding feelings. Anyone else feel this?

RumAppleGinger · 19/11/2014 12:17

Know that feeling well mumineedapoo very uncomfortable indeed. How are you coping with everything else? Managing to get a decent night sleep etc? I'm guessing from your NN you already have DCs?

TriciaMcM · 19/11/2014 12:44

Still here! Had the dreaded sweep yesterday & had regular contractions (5-7 mins/1min) yesterday evening which never quite ramped up to enough pain to go to the maternity ward. They grew more irregular & eventually stopped in the early morning. The good news is they won't let me go past Friday now.

mumineedapooooo · 19/11/2014 12:46

I have ds who is almost 9yrs, I was induced at 37weeks with him due to pre eclampsia so I didn't go through this with him.
Managing to get to sleep ok but by 3am I'm so uncomfortable and turning over is a mission.
Waiting for dp to wake up from nights so we can take the dog for a walk, hate going anywhere on my own now and I'm getting fed up of being in this house knicker checking every 10mins Grin

RumAppleGinger · 20/11/2014 20:54

ARGGHGGGHHHHHHH!

(That's not the sound of labour, it's the wail of continued frustrated waiting)

mumineedapooooo · 21/11/2014 04:04

Is anyone awake? I think something happening?? Very slowly.
Lost what I think was plug yesterday morning, had few pains but didn't come to anything. Been trying to sleep through bad period type pains for last few hours but it's not working so I've got up. Also woke with stinking cold yesterday, just my luck

excitedforbaba · 21/11/2014 04:39

Just discovered this thread I'm 40+6 today off for my last sweep attempt at 9am and I still haven't slept yet!

Congratulations to all of you who've had babies and hopefully the rest of us won't have too long to wait! In for induction Tuesday if nothing happens before then!

mumineed hopefully your doing ok, I actually googled about giving birth with a horrible cough/cold as our house came down with it 2 weeks ago (needless to say it's been and gone and I still haven't popped) but apparently most people forget they have the cold to after labour their body seems to take over and block it out Hmm

RumAppleGinger · 21/11/2014 06:46

Morning mumineedapoo hope that was indeed things kicking off a few hours ago and you are now well on your way! Exciting.

Hi excited
Think most of us left on this thread are now over due, I'm 40 + 3 and at the end of my tether. It's DS1's fourth birthday today and he's always said the baby is going to come today so hoping his psychic powers are correct!

TriciaMcM · 21/11/2014 07:11

Going in for induction today & absolutely petrified of thought of any interventions. DD's labour went something like minor cramps, increased cramps, hospital & full on labour & arrived 4-5 hours (torturous!) later. This time it's been contractions on and off since Tues evening, some pretty painful & regular & often keeping me awake. Apparently it's very unusual after such a straightforward 1st labour to need to be induced for no medical reason than being 40+11 so feeling very HmmConfused & a little Angry

I've spent the last month or so worried about giving birth in house/car because DD came out in 3 pushes - oh the irony! I just hope against hope that I don't end up needing an EMCS - it would be so unfair on DD to have another X no. of weeks of 'please mind my tummy', 'no I can't take you to playground/party' etc.

Mumineed obstet told me he v v rarely sees women in labour with as much as a sniffle. I've had a bad chest infection over past couple of weeks so maybe my body was getting rid before baby? I bet if things are happening, you've forgotten entirely about the cold! If not, maybe you need to shake it off too? Good luck!

Good luck rum & all recent joiners. At least we know that after the stressful final few weeks, we can't stay pregnant forever (even if it feels like it sometimes!)

RumAppleGinger · 21/11/2014 07:23

Oh good luck today Tricia. I've been very much in the same boat as you after quick, easy, early birth with DS I've been on edge for weeks. Let us know how you're getting on, I'll be around most of the day if you need a distraction.

EstRusMum · 21/11/2014 07:48

Hello
Can I moan? I'm only 33 weeks today, ELCS is booked for 39 and I'm already quite fed up with this pregnancy. Actually being so selfish that sometimes think "how bad would it be to have premature baby..?"
My ribs are painful, my hips and back are painful and I keep developing cankles every week(luckily swelling goes down after day or two). Sad

RumAppleGinger · 21/11/2014 15:08

All moaners are welcome Est, is maternity leave in sight or are you already at home?
