This is my second baby (DD has just turned 2) and I'm finding these last few weeks a real drag! I'm tired, my back hurts and I just want to get on with it.

Anyone else fancy a moan? Blush

RumAppleGinger don't cry yourself to sleep. DS will be ok. Sometimes they have to learn when they have done something wrong. Tomorrow is another day and he probably won't even remember. Don't feel bad. Big hugs for you.
As for housework! At this stage of the game your given a pass. If she doesn't like the way the house is either don't go over or stop
Moaning and help out!

TriciaMcM · 12/11/2014 21:03

Thanks Rum! It's very hard managing the last couple of weeks with kids, isn't it? I've a DD who is 4 & I find it much harder at the moment to have patience as well. Your DS I'm sure will get lots of attention tomorrow to make up for this evening. Flowers

TriciaMcM · 12/11/2014 22:14

Thanks Mumabex, I hate when she tidies too though! She can't walk into house without picking up DDs toys or moving stuff on the table or whatever. Drives DH bonkers. I work full time from home office so if she calls in during the day & breakfast stuff hasn't been put away for example she starts moving it. She doesn't realise I WORK for a living, even though I'm based from home!! I'm not sitting around just looking at the dirty dishes all day. House can be messy but it is clean. I also don't really want visitors when I'm trying to work Confused

Anyway, that's an old issue made worse with pregnancy hormones I think! Sorry about ranting, worst thing is that she means to help but just makes me feel like a crap mother.

ButterMelonCauliflower · 12/11/2014 23:25

I'll join the angry brigade too!! 40+3 but feels like forever. Had a sweep today and she said everything seemed favourable, now unjust need some contractions... I know it's not midwife's fault but I just want a straight answer. Not "it looks good but we'll book another appointment for a week's time". Either it looks good or if doesn't!!! It's the anticipation that gets me - I just want to know when it's going to happen!!!

Don't worry about your DS rum, I 'm sure he'll survive. I've absolutely lost it with mine in the past. He's only 2 and so so small, and it makes me feel awful but we all do it sometimes. Especially when super pregnant. Mine is playing up big time with me - hitting and throwing things and fighting me on everything . He's all sweetness and light with DH, childminder and grandparents though, I 'm sure he's just doing it cos he knows i 'm pregnant and haven 'tv got the energy for a fight.

RumAppleGinger · 13/11/2014 11:56

Thanks everyone for making me feel better. DS just back from nursery and we're going to build a den and watch toy story with a good helping of his Halloween bounty.

Don't feel like today is the day, how is everyone else doing?

MumaBex · 13/11/2014 12:55

That sounds like fun. DD is napping and DS is playing on his ds. I'm having a seat on the sofa watching sex in the city. Managed to persuade DH for some of the good stuff last night (first time in about 5 weeks!) still nothing today but I've decided that maybe being stressed is holding off this labour and relaxing is the way forward. So it's feet up and my home is now going to be a stress free zone.

DuckandCat · 13/11/2014 13:05

Hello everyone.

Self-indulgent moan coming up...

So last night I started having (what I thought were) strong contractions. When I got to every 2-3 minutes we went to hospital. Midwife examined me and said I was only 2cm and cervix still high. That it was just early labour and I should go back home Sad Sad

Since then contractions have slowed down a lot (every 10 mins or so) but not very strong.

I just don't understand why this is happening to me? Surely early labour shouldn't last this long?? I'm so upset and holding back the tears.

I hope you are all ok. DD is with my Mum today so at least I haven't got a 2yo to contend with.

Mumabex, definitely relaxing is the way to go now. Though a curry for dinner might not go astray!

Duck- firstly, that is not a moan! You poor thing- must be awful to think everything has started & back to the waiting game like that. Are the contractions painful or just uncomfortable? At least the process has started, can't be too much longer.

DH has decided Sat morning would be best for the arrival now as he has a busy day of work tomorrow and a game of football tomorrow night! Grin I've relaxed about it all as well again luckily.

RumAppleGinger · 13/11/2014 13:55

How frustrating Bex! Come here and vent whenever you need to. You have my full sympathy. How long do they let people stay in early labour for? Or is it just it takes as long as it takes sort of thing?
[clueless].

My DH has made the same request Tricia, Fridays are his busiest day so if I "could just hold off to the weekend that would be great!".

RumAppleGinger · 13/11/2014 13:56

Sorry! Duck not Bex.

MumaBex · 13/11/2014 14:28

Oh I feel for you Duck . That sucks! Hopefully they will come back and full on. Take the time away from DD to relax and even have a sleep.
Think early labour is as long as a piece of string. Some people labour fast and others for days.
So we are all being told that Saturday is the best day for our other halves. Well best we get on that then shall we!Grin

RumAppleGinger · 14/11/2014 11:12

Any update duck?

Good luck today everyone.

TriciaMcM · 14/11/2014 11:20

No news here either, though have arranged to meet friends later who I haven't seen in a couple of years, so the universe may decide to start things off before then!

On a second dose of antibiotics here after first didn't clear up chest infection, so feeling a bit weak with a minor temperature. So hard to know how much down to pregnancy though at this stage. Gp pointed out that labour with a temp is not a good idea. Could do with a week in a sunny climate doing nothing...

MumaBex · 14/11/2014 12:07

Had a false one last night. 7 hours of regular contractions. Fell asleep and woke up this morning to nothing. Oh well Another day of waiting patiently. I'm sure this baby will show when he/she at some point.

Sleepyhoglet · 14/11/2014 15:17

Me too mumabex! How are you feeling now? I think my contractions are coming back but weaker

Sleepyhoglet · 14/11/2014 15:18

How are you getting on duck?

MumaBex · 14/11/2014 15:31

Feeling pretty tired now sleepy to be honest. Don't know why. How about you?
Had about 10 people phone/text to ask if I'm ok/anything happen. It's like people have got some kind of uterus montitor on me! Lol

Sleepyhoglet · 14/11/2014 15:45

Also tired and now contractions have gone again. I haven't told anyone that labour may have started though my mum txt last night to see if there was action. Prob need to sleep. Googling is no good- reading about how this stage can last weeks. I get disappointed when things stop but when it starts I'm terrified about having a baby and having to birth it and fearful about going to the hospital

DuckandCat · 14/11/2014 15:47

He's here Smile

Born at 1.41 this morning. After all the build-up he was born super fast (out in three minutes of pushing Shock) in the birth pool.

He's gorgeous and I can't wait to get him home so I can introduce him to DD.

Good luck everyone, the end is in sight and so worth it Smile

Congratulations Duck
That was super fast. Glad your both well and have a lovely baby boy.
What have you called the little guy?

I only mentioned it to my mum last night sleepy. My sister text me today and said she is getting impatient, so God knows how I'm feeling right now!
Fingers crossed last night was gearing up for the proper thing tonight. Xx

RumAppleGinger · 14/11/2014 16:01

Wonderful news Duck! Congratulations. Hope you get home soon. Does he have a name yet?

sleepy and bex keeping my fingers crossed for you both hopefully this weekend will see a flurry of arrivals.

Sleepyhoglet · 14/11/2014 16:05

Well done duck!

MumaBex · 14/11/2014 18:24

Can't believe nothing is happening!! And now if I go this weekend I have to deal with the in laws too! Chore that I just don't need. Sad

Sleepyhoglet · 14/11/2014 18:59

Why do you need to deal with in laws? Enjoy getting rest though if nothing is happening. I really want some sleep

DuckandCat · 14/11/2014 19:35

Thank you everyone. We got home a few hours ago, DD's face was magic! She was so excited to see her brother, I'll remember that little face forever. Smile

Don't stress bex baby will be here before you know it!
