This is my second baby (DD has just turned 2) and I'm finding these last few weeks a real drag! I'm tired, my back hurts and I just want to get on with it.

Anyone else fancy a moan? Blush

Wow Duck, congratulations! Delighted it didn't take too long as well Wink

MumaBex · 14/11/2014 20:34

My friend was gonna look after ds and dd when I went into labour, but she's at work all weekend so it has to be the in laws instead. And they make it out like its a huge undertaking but they will do it as a favour to us.

TriciaMcM · 15/11/2014 11:52

Mumabex, do your best to get some quiet time away from them then, under pretext of rest, spending quality time with DCs before baby or anything to get some peace. No point in having your blood pressure going up at this stage.

I got a couple of twinges last night doing bedtime with herself and became convinced something would happen during the night! So tidied our bedroom and set DH to tidy downstairs in case we had to call my mum at 3am. Of course nothing happened but it was nice to wake to tidy house all the same Grin

RumAppleGinger · 15/11/2014 13:33

Waiting game continues here too. More frustrating however is that I thought I would nip out and do some Christmas shopping this morning only to find that the car wouldn't start. I suppose it was better to find out now rather than during a dash to the hospital but OH FOR FUCK SAKE!!! AA on their way out as luckily we have homestart cover and have sent DH to cash point so we have money for taxi if we should need it. This was not the plan universe! Stop fucking with my plan!

MumaBex · 15/11/2014 15:01

Oh rum feeling for you big time. But like you said better to find out about the car now rather than later!
Zero happening here either. Looks like the hospital on Monday is going to be the time. Any body else thinking we have the stubbornist of babies?!?

OhMjh · 15/11/2014 15:22

Officially overdue now, after an apparently successful early sweep on Monday due to excruciating rib pain. Have another Monday coming and then I may just have to admit defeat and ask for an induction early Sad

Sleepyhoglet · 15/11/2014 16:25

Ouch ouch sore bum! Baby born this am 6.11 and weighed 7.01lb

cobaltblue27 · 15/11/2014 16:40

Also 39 weeks today! I was examined yesterday and they said cervix still very closed but then that they would do an induction a week today. I'm a bit confused and have been reading horror stories about increased risks of c-section (esp as this is my first) or otherwise ventouse/forceps. Trying to get some more info! Trying to keep as busy as possible but it does feel like quite a weird limbo period. Work was mental until the end, and now I'm feeling a bit lost! Going to go for a swim to try to maintain endorphins and energy!

MumaBex · 15/11/2014 16:41

Congrats Sleepy . Hope all went smoothly and your bum recovers quickly! X

RumAppleGinger · 15/11/2014 17:05

Congratulations sleepy! Another one out! Hope you heal quickly and enjoy you're new bundle. Did you have a boy or a girl?

Thanks bex AA been and thankfully were able to fix it. There was a problem with the battery so nothing too serious. Are you now over due? I'm not but as I went early with DS I'd sort of convinced myself I would this time too.

Hi cobalt, welcome aboard. If you're not sure about induction don't be pressured into it. Plenty of time for things to happen naturally.

ohmjh that's got to be seriously frustrating! Hope things get started soon!

MumaBex · 15/11/2014 17:49

I'm now 40+6. So yeah over due. A couple of false labours. Fingers crossed for something soon.

Sleepyhoglet · 15/11/2014 19:53

She was ventouse and the thought if it made me very teary but it was actually fine and I think much more preferable to forceps. She was basically out when they did it. I arrived at the hospital at 7cm acting like a werewolf at full moon. I was a woman possessed and created mess and chaos in the delivery room. Got in the pool and thrashed and was sick. Gas and air was pants for me. Asked for epidural and got immediately. Phew and after that was absolutely fine. Everyone is different but without that epidural I don't think I could have birthed safely or calmly. She is happy and healthy and cuddling daddy whilst I have a lie down. Oh how nice to lie on my back after so long of having to avoid. Good luck everyone and stay open minded. I

Anyone else have the idea that they'll go into labour at the same time as before? For instance, last time it happened at 8pm ish, so tonight my brain has decided it won't happen as it would have started already iyswim. Same thing with heading off during the day earlier, no need to bring bag/chart as sure it'll be evening. Illogical or possibly barmy but that's the way it is!

MumaBex · 15/11/2014 22:20

Yes I thought it would happen the same way. Start at 4pm in the afternoon and go from there. Turns out it's just not happening instead. Or hoping it will start at any time as long as it's soon.

TriciaMcM · 15/11/2014 22:26

I feel for you, the false start must have been so frustrating. Mon still a bit away though fingers crossed

Just want a night's sleep now, is 7 hours too much to ask for?

RumAppleGinger · 15/11/2014 23:30

I like the theory! Here's hoping for a 2am wake up call.

MumaBex · 16/11/2014 10:17

So ended up going in to the hospital last night and............ Still no baby.
Had a good sweep and head fully down just waiting to thin out and get going.
Anyone else had any luck during the night??
Will be needing plenty of Brew today.

TriciaMcM · 16/11/2014 10:40

Ah no Mumabex, that's so frustrating. Maybe this sweep will push things along.

Nothing here either, still can't sleep at night so got less than 4 hours again. Going crazy with semi exhaustion, at times can't get the right words out. This can't be good for the baby.

RumAppleGinger · 16/11/2014 10:43

Ahh good luck Bex! Another step along at least. Really hope you're holding your baby by the end of the day (or preferably sooner!)

Still nothing here. I've decided to come to term with the fact that this baby is just never coming out!

MumaBex · 16/11/2014 12:14

We will all get there in time. Thinking if we all have a good bounce today and think happy thoughts things will happen. Grin

RumAppleGinger · 16/11/2014 22:41

Hope you're doing ok Bex and little one is finally out.

MumaBex · 16/11/2014 23:21

I wish RumAppleGinger. No baby to be seen. Everyone seems to be a little be annoyed at having to wait this long but I can't do anything other than what I'm already doing. Finding myself apologising for baby being late! How are you getting on??

TriciaMcM · 17/11/2014 09:53

Any more activity overnight anyone? DH has to go away for work Mon/Tues next week overnight & can't miss it. When it was organised we were sure it was fine as obstetrician thought i'd be early... But if I've to be induced it'll be Mon... I'm starting to get a little stressed now. The thought of him not being there is awful.
