This is my second baby (DD has just turned 2) and I'm finding these last few weeks a real drag! I'm tired, my back hurts and I just want to get on with it.

Anyone else fancy a moan? Blush

So yesterday was a good day, today I am completely done. A family friend had her baby overnight and for some reason I had assumed I'd've first. I'm just so tired of thinking about it. I had to be induced last time after waters broke but no contractions, and I really don't want that to happen again. I know I'm being irrational, that I should be grateful I'm having a baby, that she'll be here within the next 2 weeks etc etc. But I've never known time drag so slowly and all I really want is to stop feeling like shit and to be able to play with my son properly.
Sure I'll feel better tomorrow, but today I just feel totally overwhelmed

ButterMelonCauliflower · 08/11/2014 08:21

Anyone else?!

MumaBex · 08/11/2014 09:53

Totally understand where you are coming from. I want to be able to move without discomfort or actually play with the kids without constantly having to tell to be careful. I also want to be able to run after my little girl when she starts running away rather than get stressed because I can't run after her quick enough.
Plus it seems the other half just doesn't understand that I'm absolutely exhausted and could just do with an hour here or there to just rest. I'm fed up of being grumpy too.
Don't think baby understands any of that however and just wants to stay put.

TriciaMcM · 08/11/2014 10:36

With you both on that. Fed up telling DD to mind my tummy & not being able to play properly with her. Plus really feels like there's no more room in there for baby & I'll end up with cracked ribs soon. Max 2 weeks to go now for me though, even if I'm over, they'll induce me by then.

MumaBex · 08/11/2014 16:44

They will only let me go 7 days over due to previous section. Feeling really pissed off that had a false one and bugger all since. Even took my dog for a nearly 2 hour walk today and still nothing. Not even a tightening. Might spend the next couple of days sitting in the dark hoping it brings on the labour!

RumAppleGinger · 08/11/2014 17:53

I'm with you all too; so uncomfortable and exhausted. Just back from hosting a fourth birthday party for DS. Sent out 24 invitations thinking not everyone would be able to make it, full 24 showed up. Seriously! That never happens! Not being able to use alcohol as a coping mechanism is starting to take it's toll.

Already in my jammies, eating left over party food and waiting for Strictly. DH being a star and entertaining very excitable DS, seriously hoping for a decent night sleep tonight.

DuckandCat · 08/11/2014 18:24

Struggling here too. Been to a 1st birthday party today and I'm knackered! Been trying to keep busy and active for DD's sake, but bump feels like it's getting bigger by the minute!

DD was 11 days late and I ended up being induced after my waters broke, but contractions never really got going. My local hospital has opened a lovely new ML unit since DD was born and I'm desperate to be able to give birth in there and have a water birth.

I just want my body to work properly and go into labour like everyone else seems to manage!!

I've just discovered what 'Lightning Crotch' is

Owwwww Sad

ButterMelonCauliflower · 08/11/2014 19:36

Ooh, lightning crotch is a whole heap of fun isn't. I'm also learning to really enjoy the cracking popping sound my entire pelvis makes when I roll over in bed...,
Hats off to you rum for hosting a party, I don't think I could have faced that, birthday or no birthday. Am also totally up for a bit of Strictly, got it recording ready for when DS is safely asleep. Made the first batch of mince pies this afternoon so looking forward to sitting down and tucking in!
Sounds like we had similar experiences duck. I was pleased I managed to avoid the emergency C section that was on the cards for a while but I really struggled with the whole induction process. Would be amazing if it all just worked like it's supposed to!

TriciaMcM · 08/11/2014 22:24

Anyone else have a sudden reduced appetite? Heartburn is back with a vengeance (had reduced when baby dropped) & today I just don't want any food. Forced myself to eat a half a sandwich at lunchtime & a bowl of Rice Krispies just now, but that was a struggle. A bit weak today too, but maybe it's lack of food. Still plenty of baby movement, just hoping this isn't an ongoing thing for remainder of pregnancy. 39+4

MumaBex · 09/11/2014 08:50

No appetite here either. Only thing I seem to fancy even now and again is a cinnamon swirl or a bowl of rice Krispies. The thought of anything else just makes me feel a bit sick. And whoever says heartburn/indigestion goes away is lying as im still chewing on gavisgon like it's going out of fashion. Definitely will be requesting a sweep on Wednesday. Went on 2 long walks yesterday and to the fireworks and still not a thing. Maybe a change of tactic is required, maybe being grumpy makes it last longer and being super happy makes baby come out?! (Yeah right) Grin

DuckandCat · 09/11/2014 12:54

I'm the opposite, can't stop stuffing my face Blush
In my defence eating is the only thing that eases my heartburn.

Still no action here, but sure bump has dropped down. May post a bump picture later if in feeling brave enough!

Due date tomorrow! Eek!!

Here you go duckandcat. Due tomorrow too, but just got a funny feeling we won't be meeting our little one for a while yet!

39 weeks today! Anyone want to join me in the last slog?
DuckandCat · 09/11/2014 21:25

Here's mine!

I went on a lovely long walk with DH and DD today to try and get things moving and... nothing Sad In fact even the tightenings I was having before have stopped! I think I've got a while to go yet.

OP posts:
MumaBex · 09/11/2014 22:44

We are in the same boat. Zero tightenings other than when baby stretches his/her legs. The only thing the walking over the last couple of days has done is given me more groin ache! Just shows you no good comes from walking! Wink
Hopefully our babies are just lulling us into a false sense of security and are going to surprise us sooner rather than later!

RumAppleGinger · 10/11/2014 06:58

Morning all. I've finally found some comfort and wanted to share.

MIL came to stay this weekend (that's a good thing btw, she's ace and helps out loads). We got out the inflatable bed for her, one of the massive ones that are the same height as a regular bed and OMG it's so comfortable. I'm sleeping on it until the baby arrives. I've spent weeks of broken sleep, attempting to support my bump and still be comfortable, back pain, neck pain hours spent wide awake in the night. Last two nights I've slept from 9pm (rock and roll!) to about 7am straight through. I'm comfortable on my back and both sides, it's my new safe place! I'm going to be splitting my time between here and the bath for the next week or so! Grin

If you have one of these in your loft go and get it now.

RumAppleGinger · 10/11/2014 20:55

Where is everyone? You better not all be off having babies leaving me here by my fat lonely self!

MumaBex · 10/11/2014 21:07

I'm still here rumandginger 40 weeks today and still no signs. Are you feeling better after some good sleep??

TriciaMcM · 10/11/2014 21:16

Still here too. Have reached the crazy stage where I've become convinced that this baby is never coming out by him/herself. Was like this with DD as well, but took a bit longer, prob at a few days overdue.

Seriously, I know I'm being illogical but my brain has decided that I'm waddling around here until the doctors intervene! Due date tomorrow.

MumaBex · 10/11/2014 21:35

Had a hot bath, followed by walking dog and a good bounce on the ball. Still no tightenings or anything. All I am is more tired!

DuckandCat · 10/11/2014 21:52

I'm still here too and nothing is happening Sad

I've been on the verge of tears all day because I'm convinced the baby is never going to come Confused

40 weeks today (although only 38 by my count)

OP posts:
TriciaMcM · 10/11/2014 22:28

If it's any consolation, I didn't have tightenings or Braxton Hicks first time around either, straight to labour pains (& a short labour then)

MumaBex · 10/11/2014 22:37

Laying in bed thinking oh well another day closer to a sweep. Oh the joy.

Ihatechoosingausername · 10/11/2014 23:02

I think I'm starting to get swirly stretch marks around my belly button. I thought I'd gotten away with it since I hadn't spotted any so far. Damn it baby make a move! Smile

Sleepyhoglet · 10/11/2014 23:49

I too can't see this baby coming out on her own. Really didn't want a December baby But might end up that way. 11 days till dd
