This is my second baby (DD has just turned 2) and I'm finding these last few weeks a real drag! I'm tired, my back hurts and I just want to get on with it.

Anyone else fancy a moan? Blush

We kept it a surprise too. people are guessing but it's been pretty 50/50. We are struggling (well I say we, I can't make up/keep changing my mind) on a boys name. Totally sorted for if its a girl and have middle name for boy. Just nothing is sticking for a boy.

RumAppleGinger · 06/11/2014 06:20

I'm having a boy. Already have DS who will be 4 in a couple of weeks.

How did you go through the night bump?

BumpOct2014 · 06/11/2014 07:42

Good reaction to 3rd tablet but now nothing Sad

Hubby is worried we're rushing things and wants me to say no to waters being broken this morning if my cervix still hasn't opened anymore.

Feeling fed up now and waiting to be examined after I sit on the monitor for a while.

Beginning to wonder if I even have a baby in there!!

ButterMelonCauliflower · 06/11/2014 08:55

Can I join? Due on Sunday and so bored waiting. DS was 9 days early so expected this one to be the same. Am going to copy you all and redo hospiral bag - no idea what I took last time! Expecting a girl and struggling for names. Remember thinking last time that girls names were way easier than boys. Apparently not!!

ButterMelonCauliflower · 06/11/2014 09:00

Hope something happens for you soon bump , sitting waiting in hospital is even worse than sitting waiting at home. Especially when they keep saying someone will come and see you "shortly" and yet no one ever appears. Is your DH coming to keep you company?

RumAppleGinger · 06/11/2014 09:35

Hi butter, yes please come and twiddle your thumbs with us! How old is your DS? Pregnancy is sooo much harder when you've already got one to chase after.

Hope you have a fully stocked Kindle and your DH can keep you company for a bit today.

mampam · 06/11/2014 13:58

MumaBex if you don't mind me asking, what are the names you've chosen or keep changing your mind about?

We're also having a surprise and can't decide on a girls name. We've pretty much decided on Eli for a boy, DH really likes Hetty for a girl, I quite like Hattie but I still feel I'm open to change my mind if something better comes along Hmm

Hopefully things are moving along nicely Bump ?

RumAppleGinger · 06/11/2014 15:42

I agree with you mampam, I prefer Hattie, and Eli is lovely.

The girls names I liked (that I will now never need) were Zoe or Annie.

I already have an Archie and we've narrowed down this one to either Lucas or Aidan. Honestly can't chose between them so going to wait to met him and see if one suits him better.

mampam · 06/11/2014 17:46

Rum I like all of those names Smile I'm definitely with you on waiting to see what will suit him better. We did that with DC's 2&3 (boy and girl) and we just knew without having to discuss it. My DC's names are Jada, Dylan and Tilly. Dylan was going to be Dylan or George and Tilly was that or Laila......They definitely suit their names.

MumaBex · 06/11/2014 18:10

Lots of lovely names floating about. We like Amelia, Evelyn and Ivy. But liked the one we (If its a girl) will go for the most (Sorry ladies, not putting it just because we are keeping it as a surprise).
As for a boys name We have made 3 short lists already, but i still cannot decide! So on our short lists are;

Angus, Arthur, Barnaby, Charles, Dorian, Flynn, Gilligan, Ira, Luke, Elias and Caleb.

Know thats still quite a few, but there was more!

Been feeling pretty uncomfortable today. Plenty of tightening and my back is now starting to hurt. Hoping things are gearing up to get going over the next couple of days.

Hows everyone feeling??

TriciaMcM · 06/11/2014 18:13

Re packed hospital bag last night & discovered I have only 1 0-3 mth sleep suit! Just as well I did. Have enough newborn ones but no idea what happened to the others. Just in case baby is big or long, need to have some in case.

Had to smile though, poor DH would have been ransacking the house with me insisting they had to be here somewhere if I had ended up in hospital sooner Blush

redexpat · 06/11/2014 20:57

Passed my exam Smile should probably pack my hospital bag now. Id like her to stay in for just a little while longer so i can get stuff ready!

BumpOct2014 · 07/11/2014 07:02

Just to let you know that baby girl (despite everyone thinking boy!) arrived rarely this morning.

She is gorgeous Smile and I'm recovering after a long and difficult induction/labour.

Hope everyone else's babies arrive quickly and easily x

RumAppleGinger · 07/11/2014 07:42

Congratulations bump and family! Hope you recover quickly and enjoy the precious first few days with your baby girl.

BAGSY ME NEXT!

DuckandCat · 07/11/2014 12:52

Congrats Bump. That's lovely news. Sorry to hear the labour was rough, but all worth it im sure. Welcome to the world Baby Bump

BumpOct2014 · 07/11/2014 14:36

Of course you can be next RumAppleGinger
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone!

I'm so smitten withy little girl - just lying here listening to and watching her sleep!
Got to stay in tonight Sad due to blood loss but hopefully back home tomorrow to start family life Smile

MumaBex · 07/11/2014 14:52

Had a false alarm last night. Started having contractions every 25 minutes that lasted just shy of a minute. (this is how it started last time) Carried on for a good couple of hours or so. Then i fell asleep and everything disappeared. Nothing happening today, just a little achy. A little disappointed tbh.

Elletorrito · 07/11/2014 17:17

Congratulations Bump great news.

Sorry that contractions tailed off Mumabex.

Bag nearly packed here. Just got toiletries to pack... I think.

Ihatechoosingausername · 07/11/2014 17:33

Does anyone else hear snapping noises coming from their bump? I'm 39+1 and have been hearing them for a while but now they're more frequent.

MumaBex · 07/11/2014 18:01

No snapping noises but did have a pop noise last night. Was strange but no water leakage or anything.
Is anyone taking music with them??

DuckandCat · 07/11/2014 18:02

That sounds promising Mumabex, at least you've got something happening!

Bump I'm can't wait to be sitting watching a newborn sleep! Hope you recover quickly and are home soon.

Ihate I can't say I've ever experienced that Confused Smile Lots of tightenings here, but nothing that can be described as a contraction. Boo!

TriciaMcM · 07/11/2014 18:23

Also had a popping noise from my tummy today! Luckily remembered last time that I got them frequently enough towards the end. Was freaked out but checked them out and was no big deal.

Did answer the door today to some teenage boys collecting for charity who kept staring at my bump. They looked like they'd never seen a pregnant woman before!! Feel like a whale now.

ButterMelonCauliflower · 07/11/2014 19:15

Hello all, massive congratulations bump, I am totally jealous. Nice day today, though no progress on the baby front. Took DS to meet a friend at a new soft play that's opened up the road. Kept him busy for hours, I think we might be there quite often once new baby arrives.
He's 2 and a half rum, and very active. He goes to a childminder 3 days a week and we've decided to keep that going as long as we can afford it, just to give me a break and because he loves it there - it seems mean to stop him going. Also I di't want to lose his place for when I go back to work.
It's still going to be hard work with 2 I reckon, I think I'm more worried this time than last, maybe because I know what I'm letting myself on for. Any other second timers feel like that? I'm sure it'll be great though, hard work but really fun.
How's everyone feeling today? Any more movements? I was relying on the full moon to get things going bit no such luck... Due on Sunday!!

MumaBex · 07/11/2014 22:06

Well this is number 3 for me butter. And I still feel a little anxious about how I'm gonna cope with all 3 but after seeing a couple of friends with theirs I think you just learn to adjust. Me and DH have decided we are just going to try and get into a good routine and hope for the best. If not once they are all in bed in the evening I'm sure a glass of wine will help ;-)
Nothing has happened at all today which is a bit of a bummer but obviously baby has changed its mind (or my body has)
Fingers crossed for everyone that things happen this weekend. X
