Hi ladies just wondering if anyone would like to join me on the final countdown from 30 weeks to newborn?!

I see there is another thread on here but the ladies are all at the end of their journey now, so was hoping to find some other mamas-to-be to natter with over the final stretch...!

Glad to hear you got moved ok Castle and that you're feeling more ready now. Hopefully your little one will stay put till the new year :)

Bugaboom · 25/12/2014 21:17

Merry Christmas all! Hope you all have lovely days . Well I think it is probably safe to say that baby isn't coming on Christmas day thankfully! I'm 39 weeks tomorrow. Midwife has said she'll do a sweep at 39+5 if I want it but will probably decline unless there are any problems (high BP last time so being watchful of that). Good luck, hoping to hear some more baby announcements soon

EstRusMum · 25/12/2014 22:33

Ladies, I am 37+6 and having ELCS next Friday. I must say, this is probably the worst 7 days I will have experienced in this pregnancy. I can't wait.

EstRusMum · 25/12/2014 22:34

Oh yeah, Merry Christmas as well.

bakingmad83 · 26/12/2014 08:19

Sorry to hear you're having a difficult time Est. Hopefully next Friday will come round quickly for you and before you know it you'll be having newborn cuddles :)

Castlelough · 26/12/2014 11:21

Oh poor Est sorry to hear that.

I have 10 days to go until my due date!
We are thinking of Lily or Rose for a girl and Christopher or James for a boy! Has anybody else settled on their baby names?

OP posts:
bakingmad83 · 26/12/2014 11:38

They're all lovely names Castle :) We have a shortlist of 5, but may still choose something else once he arrives.

CallingAllEngels · 26/12/2014 11:45

We have settled on Seth or Lara. Still negotiating middle names!

Bugaboom · 26/12/2014 12:25

We can't decide on names at all, love all the names mentoned here. est hope you are feeling better today, and everyone else is doing okay. One week to go for me.

Castlelough · 28/12/2014 00:43

Nice names Engels! Smile

9 more sleeps til my due date! Grin

I don't mind sharing my girl's birth date, but have a problem with sharing her name - how weird is that?!Grin
Thank you, ladies. It seems that my SPD is only getting worse. I might need crutches to get through these last days and I'd rather not. I hate the thought of being a mahoossive balloon with crutches. I think I will just sit indoors for those last few days. Luckily my OH is amazing and is willing to do everything for me.
I don't recall feeling like that with my DS. I was definitely in pain, but not that much.
Also had spotting on boxing day evening, went to hospital for a checkup and after CTG got a lovely "stop wasting my time" face from doctor on duty. Fanx a bunch, lady! Now I know I won't be calling them before I'm in active labour and baby's head is out, if will go in labour spontaneously before my ELCS. Angry

bakingmad83 · 28/12/2014 10:55

What a terrible attitude from that doctor, sorry to hear you had a bad experience Est.

I had a bloody show last night and period type pains intermittently since. Went for sweep this morning. Midwife is hopeful that will get things going, so fingers crossed she's right :)

Bugaboom · 28/12/2014 16:55

Good luck baking. Bloody show a good sign.

EstRusMum · 28/12/2014 17:52

Ooh, bakingmad, lucky! Let us know how you got on. I love reading baby birth stories. Smile

bakingmad83 · 28/12/2014 19:33

Thanks Bugaboom and Est. Will let you know how it goes :)

Castlelough · 30/12/2014 06:10

Any news bakingmad?!

CallingAllEngels · 30/12/2014 15:28

fx baking

Ended up being monitored on Sunday because of reduced movement but all fine. Went for sweep yesterday but mw couldn't do it as cervix completely closed. have another booked for end of week (my birthday - hoorah!) but otherwise we're talking induction next week.

Going slightly mad Xmas Confused

40+2

Bugaboom · 30/12/2014 17:56

A sweep on your birthday Calling? Oh no I hope baby comes before then! Glad to hear baby was ok on monitoring.

I'm 39+4. Seeing midwife tomorrow and have been told I can have a sweep but have decided to hold on til next week. Keep thinking I'm getting signs- the odd painful contraction, lots of BH, but nothing concrete.

superbfairywren · 31/12/2014 08:29

Hi everyone, have been keeping an eye to see how you all are. Hope to start hearing of some babies arriving soon as you all get close to due dates. We are doing great, it's still a slow recovery from the section and i've had a few points where I've pushed back my recovery by trying to do too much but am definitely getting there. Hope to hear some more birth stories soon and hope you're not all too uncomfortable these last few days and weeks.

Castlelough · 01/01/2015 18:41

Any new year babies yet?!
39+3 here, and not a sign!
Am quite happy to sit things out though. Still pottering in the new house and trying to get settled. A few more days would be wonderful Grin.

I'm 40 weeks today! And veering between thinking another week would be nice (ds has two days with childminder next week so could get a bit more rest) and thinking I just want this baby here already!
Hope everyone ok and we get some updates soon

CallingAllEngels · 02/01/2015 21:25

Thanks castle

Was 1cm dilated so mw was able to do sweep. Not convinced baby will make an appearance before my parents head back to the uk.

have another mw appt on Monday and then we have to book induction for end of next week.

40 +5

EstRusMum · 04/01/2015 00:23

Had my little girl on Friday, as planned. She is unexpectedly tiny - just 6lbs 13 oz. My OH cried when saw her. She is his first and he is learning very fast how to deal with nappies and other stuff. Godsend for me after section.
Still in hospital now, hoping to get home tomorrow. Today even. It would be a bliss to go home knowing that I have the quietest baby on ward. Screaming only when nappy is being changed. Smile
Have only one problem with her - lazy sucker. My nipples are bleeding because of her falling asleep while sucking.

Bugaboom · 04/01/2015 08:10

Congratulations Est, so glad to hear you and your little girl are both ok. Hope you get home today Smile
