Hi ladies just wondering if anyone would like to join me on the final countdown from 30 weeks to newborn?!

I see there is another thread on here but the ladies are all at the end of their journey now, so was hoping to find some other mamas-to-be to natter with over the final stretch...!

sally not very prepared! I know have all ds' s stuff somewhere just need to sort it out. I went over last time so think I will have time to get sorted when I go off work at 36 weeks (fingers crossed!)

TeaRex · 27/10/2014 15:29

Sally i'm really not at all prepared! :( sooo much stuff I've got to do, am banking on Mat leave to get things sorted but I guess I really need to pull my finger out and get the moses basket down and cleaned and hosp bag packed just in case. The sleep thing sucks as really pre-baby you'd ideally be able to sleep loads and sort of store it up, oh well, all worth it in the end :) xxx

LittlePink · 27/10/2014 15:31

Hi im 30+1 today. Due 4/1/15. Having a boy. Well I hope so as ive already got rid of all my girl things! Got a 2.4 yr old DD who is very excited about having a baby brother. Shes been out this morning and have tired her out at the park so shes currently lying on my tummy watching c beebies and chilling which im glad about because having a toddler and being pregnant is exhausting! Coupled with not sleeping well either. Cant get comfy and hips are killing me at night. Other than that everything else is going well so far fingers crossed!

Ducky23 · 27/10/2014 15:32

Im pretty prepared! Was told to have my hospital bags ready from 26 weeks as if there was any problems with growth they would get him out there and then! Shock

Had the nursery ready but then we started having work done on the house and the builder has filled it with tools, it's making me feel really angry!

Am hoping to get my induction date next week! Grin

noitsachicken · 27/10/2014 15:34

I haven't even thought about hospital bags yet!

regularbutpanickingabit · 27/10/2014 15:37

32+6 here and ready to pop already! This is baby #3, was induced with the other 2 and will have to be with this one as well. Both inductions were absolutely fine and so not too worried about doing that again. For now, anyway!
Sleep is definitely at a premium and the baby is currently breech so really hoping it will turn soon.

LittlePink · 27/10/2014 15:38

Ive started to get a few bits together for the hospital bag but not planning on packing it for a few weeks yet. I went 2 weeks over with DD so if that's anything to go by the bag would be sitting there for another 3 months if I packed it now! Really hoping I don't go over this time. Consultant said she'd let me go 10 days over then it would be elcs as I had an emcs with DD. Don't want another section really, just because of the recovery time with a toddler but apart from that I healed really well last time and recovered fairly quickly all things considered.

2014MrsH · 27/10/2014 15:58

Ooh can I join this thread? I'm 34 weeks with my first and really starting to feel heavily pregnant now.

Have had constant braxton hicks pretty much all day everyday for two weeks now - midwife keeps telling me birth is close!

Everything is going well luckily with the pregnancy except cluster headaches due to stress from controlling mil who is insistent my baby is hers!

katiegee · 27/10/2014 16:06

I am so unprepared! it's only been in the past two week that we've bought a Moses basket, pram and steriliser/bottles...planning to go to a shopping centre this week and buy some sleep suits etc and I guess that'll be most of the basics covered... haven't even thought about a hospital bag... oh dear :-/

LittlePink · 27/10/2014 16:10

Lansinoh is a must for the bag! No one told me about this until 3 days after DD was born. It was a life saver!

Bugaboom · 27/10/2014 16:13

I second Lanisoh! Their breast pads are great too.

Ducky23 · 27/10/2014 16:22

This is going to sound stupid but what is lanisoh?

LittlePink · 27/10/2014 16:26

Its nipple ointment for BFing to help with cracked nipples. Its alot cheaper on amazon than boots, mothercare etc. Its a must have if you're going to BF. You put it on before every feed in the early days until your nipples toughen up and get used to feeding.

cheshirem2b · 27/10/2014 16:39

Ducky lanisoh is all stuff for breastfeeding - nipple cream, pads etc. I've stocked up based on recommendations on MN and have the cream, pads and milk storage bags for the freezer.

I said I would do the hospital bag this week so I suppose I better had really!

SpruceSpringClean · 27/10/2014 18:46

Lanisoh is an absolute essential, its next on the shopping list!
I've bought a few essentials like nappies and nursing pads etc. along with a few items of clothing for the baby but not at all organised. Also finding reasonably priced bright/colourful unisex clothing especially sleep suits, is getting irritating. Everything is either pastel blue, pink or grey/white.

I'm having an elcs for the first time, anyone got any advice?

bakingmad83 · 27/10/2014 20:35

Hi ladies, I'm 31+1 with my first, a boy. Apart from feeling baby's kicks and my bump, I wouldn't really know I was pregnant, have a feeling it's going to hit me physically over the coming weeks though, so shouldn't speak too soon :)

HulaHoopsInTheBath · 27/10/2014 20:51

Can I join in?? I too was hoping someone would start one of these Smile

30+3 with DC2 and switching hourly between thinking "Urgh I'm tired and huge, still 10 weeks to go?" and "Eeeek, I'm not ready, only 10 weeks to go!"

Thanks for the Lanisoh reminder. DD is 6 and I have forgotten everything!

Pandadog · 27/10/2014 21:25

Hello all!
I'm 33 weeks with my first and had enough!

I'm not huge, in fact the bump is really small, but I'm very uncomfy and suffering with SPD.

I just want one full night sleep! Although I'm very aware that won't happen until bump grown up and has moved out!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 27/10/2014 21:44

Hi guys! I'm 31+2 with my first and SO READY for it to be over.
I've never felt so full up as I was tonight: full stomach, full bladder and full uterus Confused Urgh.

vallinnapod · 27/10/2014 22:02

Ohhh, can I join??

Can't quite believe I am into the final quarter TBH.

Another one with a chequered history prior to this PG. I have a DS from my first IVF. This baby is IVF cycle #8...with a MMC amongst it, so really didn't think I would be here again. Having a DD and so far this pregnancy could not be more different! I had no symptoms and pretty much no bump with DS. This time I suffered from horrendous fatigue until 16.5 weeks and have had sickness from the start to date. I now have killer heartburn. Still...small price to pay!

Due on 1 Jan, so 30+3. DS was 10 days early so have lulled myself into a false sense of security that she'll be here pre-Christmas.

Preparation-wise we have it all from DS. Need to get the pram and car seat down from the loft to be steam cleaned and need to replace mattresses etc...planning a HB. Need to do a hospital bag in any case but not given it any thought.

Due to how my holiday year falls with work I actually finish in a fortnight....cannot bloody wait Grin

Bugaboom · 28/10/2014 06:43

Congratulations Valley, sounds like you have had a long haul to get here.
I'm due 2nd Jan. My toddler has had me up most of the night and have a very busy day ahead at work. I think i will be eating a lot of chocolate. Hope everyone has an easy, discomfort-free day!

Bugaboom · 28/10/2014 07:17

Vallin- silly autocorrect

lloydlf33 · 28/10/2014 07:32

I'm 29+5 with a very surprise number 5 due 8th January but I'm having a csection at 38 weeks so will queue jump to around Christmas. It's a boy which has pleased my son. I have one boy and three girls so far so he's a bit outnumbered lol. Physically I'm doing okay so far and most days actually forget I'm pregnant! We are woefully underprepared though and I seem to have forgotten exactly what babies need. I've just finishedmy Christmas shopping so from here on in its Operation baby!

I'm going shopping this weekend for hospital bag supplies like decent PJs and pads and STUFF. Possibly an actual bag to put it all in too Confused hope I feel more prepared then!
