I never seemed to be able to keep up with the Antenatal Threads as they move so so fast, but now im 30weeks I thought it might be nice to have a general thread for those of us currently on the final leg.

Im expecting a boy at the end of October and have a dd who is currently 2y 8m. We had an eleven week loss last year so I am beyond chuffed to have had a so far successful pregnancy. Im starting to get very weary and my chest feels so full of my other organs at the moment!

Just returned from a few days away and realised the next time I use my little weekend bag will be for labour Grin so Im going to start chucking stuff into it over the next few weeks.

I am all for baby staying in as long as they need but am so so keen to just getting this pregnancy over and done with.

Ithoughtofitfirst - I saw some navy pjs on matalan website just yesterday.

Wow there are some very organised mommies out there. Here I was chuffed with the idea of making some cakes and freezing ahead for any guests (I don't have friends or family nearby) but I think the cookie dough idea is brilliant and I'll be doing that too.

Nice to see the list of ladies expecting :) waves hello

Thanks missus !

I am prepared for the blood this time. I didn't even know about the blood when I was pregnant last time (did eff all research or prep) until the midwife insisted I sat on a big square one. Why? Ooooh riiite. What a dumbass.

I am not going to pack my bag in an attempt to make the baby appear early Grin

Weebairn- I feel exactly like you! With DS I had my bags packed around 30 weeks. I will 30 weeks no with second and don't want to think about it.. Because I have to pack my bag, the baby's and a bag for DS. (He is 11 month so extra packingGrin)

weebairn · 18/08/2014 21:19

I think I packed it at around 36 weeks last time. I had a longish labour at 40+4, 40+5. Also I had baby at home so didn't even need it in the end.

I think I have everything in the house anyway, so I could chuck it together quite quickly. If I have a 1 hour labour or something I'll be too delighted to worry that I haven't packed it right, haha!

I also have to pack an overnight bag for DD1 (she will be exactly 2) in case I decide to send her away to my brother's, though I might just keep her here, really don't know!

I am very unprepared really! I keep meaning to start filling the freezer up.

Wow, so many prepared moms out there! I am impressed. I keep meaning to fill the freezer and the cookie dough sounds great. My problem is that every time I start, we end up eating it all on my exhausted days....hmmm oh well. My mom is visiting from overseas so I'm sure she'll help me out!

Can I please join. I read the Oct thread but don't post very often. I am also a teacher - lots of us on here! I am going back for 3 weeks after the holidays but won't have my own class. I am 32 weeks and due on 11th Oct.

We found out early Feb. I started bleeding on my 30th birthday (4th Feb) and was convinced I was having another miscarriage (we had one last October). Luckily an early scan showed things were ok. I remember being at the doctors for our booking in appointment on Valentines Day.

My DH has pretty much being doing housework and cooking throughout my pregnancy as I had a lot of sickness and was just so tired.

ithoughtofitfirst - I bought some of those from M&S too! I wrote a list and did a bulk boots and primark shops which ticked off most things. This is what I have in my bag for labour/birth... hospital bag list link I probably have far too much - first time mum!!

Bexleymum - Boots had 3 for 2 on maternity pads. Not sure if the offer is still on.

Missed this page - thought the one before was last page...!

Cookie dough is an amazing idea. However once baby arrives I can see myself just eating it raw and not sharing with guests haha.

I won't have a class either MrsDino - isn't it great to have a hol without all the prep?!

Ooh I enjoyed one of the benefits of being pg today (though it wasn't pleasant in itself!) - got a free white filling!

I'm jealous of the teachers with no prep :-)
I'm back after the hols for 7 weeks (if I make it that far - oh and friends at work not convinced I will!) and have had to switch classrooms as I've been moved from Y2 to Y1.
So LOTS of prep for me getting my head around Y1 again :-(
Although I have spent most of the hols doing very little and watching about 4 seasons of Greys anatomy (watching last episode of season 10 now).
REALLY need to motivate myself but struggling to be bothered to do much of anything.

Hello all, hope you don't mind me nipping on here - also on Oct thread but not managed to keep up. Due 7 Oct (33 weeks today) but will be induced c. 38 weeks, so looking at end Sept... number 2 for me, not feeling at all organised!

Mrsdinorawr that hospital bag list is very helpful!!
I haven't even thought about it really I plan to make a list then pack my hospital bag and start setting up baby furniture an prepping meals when DS goes back to school. I'll be 33 weeks then.

Pinterest has some amazing ideas for nurseries/baby storage etc! So ill look on there for meal prep also. We live in a small 2 bed so there is little storage space in our room for baby's clothes and there was some great solutions on there which I look forward to starting on soon.

I went to see the birth centre last night and it was amazing, I couldn't sleep thinking about it!! I've never been more excited to be in pain!

Bit annoyed tonight as meant to be at my lazy daisy birthing class but DP didn't call to say he wouldn't be home in time to watch DS so instead I've just been sat here eating lots
Of food :-( oops!

Wanna join too!! The October thread is always full by the time I get around to looking at it. Due Halloween with first (girl) and hope she actually manages to arrive on the due date as she would have the best birthday parties EVER!!, always fancy dress - no one would complain or forget her birthday am prone to date-forgetfulness

So glad someone else is thinking 'Halloween themed birthday parties'!! Brilliant.
Then there will be all the Baby's First Christmas shizzle this year as well - am going to dive right in like a maniac!

Have had a lovely few days but have started to worry about how to go back to work and cope without my glorious afternoon naps. Used to he so pissed off in the 1st trimester with all books and mags advising an afternoon nap when I was so cripplingly tired - yeah right, as if! In the midst of exam and OFSTED prep, etc, I was drowning entirely and nearly cried when the Easter hols finally arrived.

So I have been taking advantage of my napping opportunities all summer. Bliss! Going to be a shock to the system in Sept!

RebeccaCloud9 · 21/08/2014 09:47

I totally agree WftsC - LOVING the hols this year but 1st trimester was awful - cried on the day of Parents Eve because I couldn't face it! The Easter hols completely saved my sanity! x

Can I join too please?

Currently 33 weeks with DC2 - due 8th October.

Had MW appointment yesterday and got told baby is breech which has got me a bit worried - anyone had any experience of this and know what the likelihood of baby turning is and/or what happens if it doesn't turn???

Thanks!

I know you teachers work so hard but I am SO jealous of the holidays Grin

34 and a half weeks and 2 weeks to go for me.

Report
weebairn · 21/08/2014 12:59

ButterflyofFreedom my understanding is many babies are breech at this stage and most of them will have turned by 36,37 weeks. I don't think you need to be worried before this point.

If it doesn't turn you are usually offered the choice to try and turn it from the outside (ECV) and if that's successful you can just have your birth as normal, or an ELCS if you'd prefer or the above is unsuccessful, and some places offer vaginal breech delivery (Sheffield does) but this is rarer.

There is a website "spinning babies" that has loads of exercises you can try to encourage baby to turn. Hands and knees scrubbing the floor is the traditional one I think!

But don't worry. Most of them turn on their own.
