I never seemed to be able to keep up with the Antenatal Threads as they move so so fast, but now im 30weeks I thought it might be nice to have a general thread for those of us currently on the final leg.

Im expecting a boy at the end of October and have a dd who is currently 2y 8m. We had an eleven week loss last year so I am beyond chuffed to have had a so far successful pregnancy. Im starting to get very weary and my chest feels so full of my other organs at the moment!

Just returned from a few days away and realised the next time I use my little weekend bag will be for labour Grin so Im going to start chucking stuff into it over the next few weeks.

I am all for baby staying in as long as they need but am so so keen to just getting this pregnancy over and done with.

Re: hospital bag, I wrote a list then tried to pull together most of it. Still missing a few things, most importantly maternity pads as everywhere I went last week was out of stock!!! Made me feel better to have a bag that I could grab in an emergency even if it's not completely complete.
Next job is my daughters suitcase for last minute overnight stays. My DH can pack his own bag lol.

Ive done my "postnatal ward" bag with just pj bottoms and a nighty to add for me and a box of baby milk (hated BFing last time so taking milk in this time just incase I hate it again)

Just the labour bag to prep which will consist mainly of snacks and drinks Grin

Good idea about the milk. I've started collecting bits and bobs. I had pjs last time but just bled everywhere so had to chuck them. This time I'm gonna get dark or navy ones if I can find them anywhere.

I've got maternity pads, nipple pads, 2 washed nursing bras and a 5 pack of black granny knickers.

Will you guys get any products? I did last time but this time I think I'll just send my mum or dh home to get me some stuff this time.

Products as in toiletries?

I started with a list, put together as much as I could and have added it to it since then. I have a bag for our baby (sleepsuits, hat, nappies etc etc), one for me and a bag of snacks that I have to keep replenishing! Have told DH he should have a change of clothes for himself in the car, just in case, but I think he thinks I'm joking!

My EDD is 17/9 so that was a very good guess!

More batch cooking today. Home bargains sell foil take away containers much more cheaply than anywhere else if anyone else is doing this too.

We are both vegetarian so have used quorn in places but so far have made:

cottage pies in foil trays to put in oven,
lasagnes in foil trays,
roast sweet potatoes and quorn sausages in foil trays (just need to microwave frozen peas to go with it).

We have pancakes (seperated by greaseproof paper) for some weekend breakfast treats.

Ive also made chilli, tagine, bolognaise and curry which have been portioned into freezer bags.
On another thread freezer bags were recommended to save space - I plan on defrosting and pouring into a jug to microwave

Oh and I bought travel sized toiletries for my hospital bag. I've scoured mumsnet reading other peoples recommendations and using the ones I like the sound of.

Hmmm I do have empty travel bottles for toiletries (sorry I don't even know why I said products!) .. might use those. Save some dosh.

Batch cooking you say? I might make my dh do that though. He's off this week mwahahaha

mmm curry yes!!

Primark had these really nice little zip bags with a pack of wipes, deodorant, lip balm, moisturiser and I think a shower gel - £5 - so ive bought one of them, chucked in a few bobbles and clips and my eyebrow tweezers and a compact. Thatll do me. I work in a Hotel so will ask to take a couple of the teeny shampoos and conditioners when I go off on Mat Leave and chuck them in too.

Oh and wrt freezer bags - the IKEA ones are truly amazing. I never thought I would have such a strong opinion on a freezer bag til I bought a box of these.

Soup! Just thought of soup!

I was thinking of preparing ingredients for slow cooker receipes then freezing them. But it's not more than a vague thought at the moment. Pinterest has some ideas I think.

Oh yeah! Soup is on my to do list! Trying to do something every day because I'm getting tired very quickly these days so I want to get the freezee full asap! Am also going to buy some frozen pizzas to put in there - all for an easier life wherever possible!

Thanks for the ikea freezer bag suggestion. Wantto use them to separate out pink and blue and different baby sizes of clothes in the hospital bag too.

Hello, can I join, I need to have a foot stamp- I am so done, this baby is cooked and I need him out. 38+2.

Heart burn, acid reflux, weight gain, nerve pain flashes in thighs, belly button about to explode, nothing fits, tired, cant sleep, grumpy and always bloody hungry, baby stretching his way out....

for those suffering with restless legs try tonic water (just incase you didn't already know!)

I am the freezer bag queen! We know we are expecting a boy so I have made bags of outfits (vest/babygrow/sleepsuit/hat/mits and a nappy) labelled as newborn and up to one month for DH to grab in the delivery room as we don't know which will fit when he is born!

Jeez, you are all so organised! I have put all these things on a list (well, spreadsheet actually Blush) but have neglected to actually do then!

Am going to go shopping next Friday to get some work clothes and will get everything for my hospital bag then. Have a few baby things, but am waiting to move house to order all the big stuff, so fingers crossed it doesn't come early...

Lasagne is definitely going on my batch cooking list, as well as cookie dough mixture. Thought this was a genius idea from another thread for when visitors pop in - just bung them in the oven. Have to work out how to actually make cookie dough first, like.

On a TMI note, these piles could really do with fucking off now. Sooo painful! How do I get rid of them?!! Am on. A lovely cocktail of anusol cream and suppository, drinking loads, eating fibre, but they are still there. Ruining my evening bath, I can tell you.

Any tips?!

Luckily I haven't had piles (yet!) so can't add anything but I was thinking of trying this cookie dough mixture too!

Loving the cookie dough suggestion.

I was shamed into organisation by a friend who is 2 weeks behind me and insanely organised.

Ps I think that a spreadsheet sounds very very organised.

Slow cookers are great especially for when I went back to work. Ten minutes before anyone else is up and you can have a meal for later. Think we might live on stew and dumplings this winter. Lol. You can pick them up pretty cheap at most supermarkets or Robert dyas

Ive seen loads of recipies for Crock Pot meals which are prepped, frozen then thrown in the slow cooker. Can I just throw them in an oven dish and cook on low for a couple of hours?

I am not exactly sure. A quick google and there are a few standard ways of converting the time. Would it be very expensive to have the oven on for long periods?

What a long list! Thanks for putting it together think. My proper EDD is 21.10.14.

I hate defrosted/reheated food so hope we can keep it together enough to have soup/toast etc once baby is here.

I got some natracare maternity pads today, they're smaller than the ones I use for my periods! Gonna get some more from other places, but want to be ready in case baba is early. Probably going to do hospital bag this week. There's a good page on the main pregnancy site on here.
