Hey so I'm very new to this but I just wanted to get a few things off my chest and save my partner from another night of moaning!

I'm currently 38+2 and I'm feeling more and more uncomfortable each day... I am so hormonal and forever shouting at my loved one Sad! Every day things are becoming even more unbearable, just turning over in bed hurts!! I've been having a lot of pain when doing daily tasks such as walking and by the end of the day I'm in agony!! My midwife said it is SPD or something.

Anyway sorry about the complaining I am very privileged and excited to meet our little boy and still have had very little signs that he will enter the world anytime soon... I only ever tend to feel 1 or 2 Braxton Hicks at night which are very very mild, I've also not had any sort of show that I know of... I get the odd sharp pain that shoots through my cervix but that is about it!!! Has anyone ever gone into labour out of the blue with no signs? And is anyone else feeling as fed up as I am... Or am I just a moaning mertal Grin.

I know patience is key and he will arrive when he's ready but I just feel like everyone else is having their babies and I'm going to be a whale forever!!! Rant over.

I'm bouncing on my ball...

Can I join you?

I'm 41 weeks today. Had a sweep on Monday, lost my plug since then, REALLY thought I was in labour one evening and decided to go to bed to get some rest... And woke up to nothing.

I'm so fed up I feel like sobbing. I feel all your (lack of) pain.

Haha I never thought I'd be complaining about the lack of pain, I just want some sort of symptom to let me know he won't be in there forever!! Done lots of cleaning today so think I'm going to give the bouncing on the ball a miss, instead I'm going to bed :)! Let's hope at leaf one of us has our beautiful babies within the next few days!!

I know what you mean, just some indication that labour is imminent!!
I was thinking earlier, wouldn't it be lovely if there was some kind of countdown clock we could be given that says how long we've got left?! Mind you that would probably make me more grumpy because you can guarantee it would be ages!
Me too. Fingers crossed!

It's so strange, when you get pregnant you imagine labour will be so straightforward, waters going, contractions start, pushing and screaming then baby! But it's so slow and different for everyone. I've been having tightening stabbing pains since the sweep but they are far too close together and sporadic to be proper contractions. I never thought I'd be wondering 'is this labour?'. It's not painful enough I think :)

I know the feeling. Loads of period type cramps last night, loads of downward pressure and back ache. Carried on until about 8 this morning.

Now? I feel like labour will NEVER come. Absolutely no signs any more.

I've had no cramps or pains since losing my plug this afternoon. I've been rocking on my ball but to no avail and may just go to bed instead!Sad

I've walked fricking miles today....bounced on my ball....absolutely nothing. In fact, last week when I attempted to walk any more than a few minutes I was getting the stabbing pains in my cervix. Now, thats gone.....is this baby going up the way?

One of my friends reminded me today that in France 42 weeks is considered full term so thats the date they work towards...not sure if that makes me feel better or not.....

Ellie2elysia · 16/08/2014 21:13

A taxi driver told me that as well... Certainly doesn't make me feel any better when everyone around me is popping out babies left right and centre haha

Doesn't make me feel better, I really want to be able to use the pool but the cut off is bang on 42 weeks Sad

Report
Redling · 16/08/2014 21:46

I've got my heart set on the pool as well, so for that as well as other reasons I want to avoid being induced. But midwife won't book induction until I'm 40+12 so I've got plenty of time to go really! And I've been having pains ever since she left, thinking about starting to time them and seeing if there is a pattern. Start the app!

My mw led unit has now got two pools so in very hopeful. However, when I was late with ds I had meconium in my waters and so wasn't allowed one. I'm hoping that it won't be the case this time as the pool looks great!

Hmmm. Well, I am having contractions. Started at 3am. I hope they don't disappear again!

Report
Redling · 17/08/2014 07:33

Argh that's great! I was having pains all evening until midnight then it all died off overnight. Hurts a bit this morning but not significantly. I hope yours are proper real labour!

Report
stargirl1701 · 17/08/2014 07:38

Still contracting! I made past 6am Grin

Still not regular though. I have taken paracetamol. TENS on soon I think.

Report
Redling · 17/08/2014 07:43

I just hope mine at least dilated me a bit. I hope yours keep getting stronger, in the nicest possible way I'm rooting for your pain! I have PiL over for lunch so I'm kind of hoping the fact I'd hate my waters to break during that situation means they will, Sod's law and all that :)

Report
GingerScouse · 17/08/2014 10:23

I read on here you should always wear your best pants, because sod's law your waters will go while you're wearing them!

Report
Redling · 17/08/2014 10:55

I have no 'best pants' left at this point, only grim giant pants! I've lost some plug this morning, yay! I've become a massive fan of sweeps :) no return of the frequent contractions of last night though. I get them if I stand up for a bit but nothing sustained. Never thought early labour would be like this. So slooooooow.

startwig1982 · 17/08/2014 11:23

I had some more grumbles last night and this morning but nothin regular or actual contractions. Sad
Having a roast lunch though and had a good cry on a friend's shoulder this morning. Planning a walk later and lots of bouncing, plus a bit of nipple twiddling.Smile
