Hey so I'm very new to this but I just wanted to get a few things off my chest and save my partner from another night of moaning!

I'm currently 38+2 and I'm feeling more and more uncomfortable each day... I am so hormonal and forever shouting at my loved one Sad! Every day things are becoming even more unbearable, just turning over in bed hurts!! I've been having a lot of pain when doing daily tasks such as walking and by the end of the day I'm in agony!! My midwife said it is SPD or something.

Anyway sorry about the complaining I am very privileged and excited to meet our little boy and still have had very little signs that he will enter the world anytime soon... I only ever tend to feel 1 or 2 Braxton Hicks at night which are very very mild, I've also not had any sort of show that I know of... I get the odd sharp pain that shoots through my cervix but that is about it!!! Has anyone ever gone into labour out of the blue with no signs? And is anyone else feeling as fed up as I am... Or am I just a moaning mertal Grin.

I know patience is key and he will arrive when he's ready but I just feel like everyone else is having their babies and I'm going to be a whale forever!!! Rant over.

Congratulations Smile
I've just come back from hospital! In slow labour, been contracting since 2pm and only slightly dilated!! Hoping things progress this evening!!

stargirl1701 · 18/08/2014 08:32

Thank you everyone and congratulations to Dandy! Thanks

DD2 turned out to have a massive placenta and that led to a significant blood loss so I'm on bed rest at the moment. Feeling quite lightheaded and woozy. Doc should see me today (at a midwife unit). I've ended up with another second degree tear and the vulval cyst they were hoping might burst didn't.

Wishing everyone their babies soon! DD2 fed non stop from birth yesterday until 7am this morning. Sleeping now Grin

Congrats to all the new mums! I'm in very slow labour, contractions aren't budging from every 10 mins and the midwife unit won't let me in until I get 3 in 10 mins so I have a long way to go! Just trying to ignore it and do whatever I normally would. If my waters went I'd be happier. Had more show this morning. Who knew labour could be such a terribly boring process.

You sound like me Redling!! My contractions are the same as yours and had the show this morning! Seem to be losing bits at a time!! DP is off work incase things progress but feel like it's taking forever!!! How far are u?? Xx

Redling · 18/08/2014 10:37

I'm 40+3, been basically contracting on and off since Saturday afternoon after I had a sweep, last night it was getting very regular in the sense it was every 10 mins, but since I've got up and started doing stuff contractions have stopped again! Sent my DH to work as I've ceased to believe anything is going to happen :) Rang midwife unit when they were regular to check how frequent they had to be for admission as I'd forgotten. She just told me to ignore them as long as they were mild and conserve energy. I might go back to bed and see if they start up again! I've done washing and dishes so I deserve to go back to bed :) I really hoped today was the day, so lets hope they start again! Good luck :)

Mmolly2013 · 18/08/2014 10:53

Aww hopes you's all go soon.

startwig1982 · 18/08/2014 11:11

I've had period cramps all morning in my back and a little bit of tightening going on but still nothing actually contraction like! 41+2 today and sweep planned for tomorrow(again). Sad

BeccaBrkr7 · 18/08/2014 13:55

Good luck ladies!! Sounds like we are getting there!! :) xxxx

ImNotAFlower · 18/08/2014 15:51

Do you mind if I join you ladies in the waiting game? I am 40 weeks today and have had enough now. My dd was born at 35 weeks and so this is all new to me and not going on my fun things to do list!!!!
I thought we were on the right path last night period pain, backache, tightenings and then at 1am..... It stopped Angry grrrrrr!

RubyRuby007 · 18/08/2014 17:14

So, last midwife appointment today! She's been excellent despite this baby's complete lack of motivation to make an appearance! We didn't even bother with a third attempt for a sweep today, as I haven't had any pains or twinges whatsoever since the last failed attempt. The midwife has managed to move our induction date up to tomorrow, so 40+10 Smile rather that thursday.

Just want to wish everyone else good luck, and hopefully the next time I post will be with some good news Grin

startwig1982 · 18/08/2014 18:17

Good luck Ruby! At this rate everyone is going to have their baby before me
I'm only allowed one more sweep then induction on Thursday.

BeccaBrkr7 · 18/08/2014 19:55

Imnotaflower I know how u feel! I has dd1 early and I was induced due to pre eclampsia so this is all new to me to!! Had loads of close together contractions all yesterday and now they've stopped!!!

ImNotAFlower · 18/08/2014 20:35

Becca, it's a whole new board game isn't it? I convinced my mw to give me a sweep last Thursday... That did diddly squat!
I am SO emotional as well the last two days everything and nothing has me sobbing Sad

BeccaBrkr7 · 18/08/2014 20:38

Yep it really is! I have no idea what's going on and feel like I'm gonna go overdue! I was sobbing in the shower yesterday because I've totally had enough! Really thought I would have had her by now! Was told at 36 weeks I would have her and then nothing!! Hmm

Ellie2elysia · 18/08/2014 21:21

39 weeks and not even a twinge humph, good luck ladies wishing you all the best!! Let's get these babies out!!!!

I'm still at home, still having stop start contractions, some regular period pains that get into a pattern, then that stops and I get about two massive pains in an hour. This is the shittest of all the situations! I've been like this for so long, why won't they speed up?! Why won't my waters break?! I'm so pleased my midwife is coming in the morning as I have no chance of going into the MLU at this rate and at least she'll be able to say if all this shit has dilated me. Was 1.5 on Saturday. I thought labour would be so much more cut and dry than this, it's so confusing. I don't know what I'm doing anymore.

Mmolly2013 · 18/08/2014 21:41

are you in much pain redling or are you managing ok for now x

Redling · 18/08/2014 22:07

It's not too bad, most of them are like strong period pains, lasting around 45 seconds. Never more than every 8-10 mins. Then I've had a few random pains that are longer and more painful, like bang your hand against things and moan painful! But very spread out so I can cope with that fine , it's just the fact that it won't progress! There's no point going anywhere near the MLU at this progress. I'd be there for ever! I just don't know whether this is even going anywhere. My mam and dad are coming tomorrow and I don't want them to have to deal with me in this stupid situation, I can't get on with anything, I can't go out because it's just enough pain and worry of waters going to make that something I really don't want to do alone (and I can't bear the idea of anyone talking to me!) and I can't make DH stay home as it's a waste of time if nothing happens. I am just so glad my midwife booked to come for a sweep tomorrow morning.

startwig1982 · 18/08/2014 22:39

Poor you redling. It's positive that something's happening though, even if you've only dilated another couple of cm. at least the pain is bearable. Hope your mw appt goes well tomorrow and you feel more upbeat.
Apparently if your waters go in m&s or waitrose/john Lewis you get a hamper so maybe go and hang around there?!Smile

Redling · 19/08/2014 00:17

Since bedtime they've come on again, also are pretty painful. Making 'aaaaahhhhhhh' noises out loud painful! Every 7 mins or so. Sat in the bath now. Now at that stage of wanting the owwww to stop bit also knowing I need it to get worse! Eeeeek.

Ellie2elysia · 19/08/2014 00:20

Sounds like it's definitely happening now redling!! Hopefully this time tomorrow you'll be commenting the size and name of your gorgeous little baby :)!

No pain no gain!

Good luck, hope it all goes well for you and little one x

Can I join? I'm 38+2 so a bit behind many of you. Pretty uncomfortable but not expecting anything till 41 weeks to try and keep sane.

ImNotAFlower · 19/08/2014 08:51

Hope all is going in the right direction Redling
