June people! we are hopeless! Even the April lot manage to post now & again... (though they are probably on mat. leave by now) Do you realise no one has posted on the old thread for nearly a week?!

cathcait- DH is planning on coming back 5th june (2wks b4 due date) so hopefully babs will come a bit early or on date ( yeah right!! ) he will then get two weeks paternity so hopefully i should have him home for the month. He has assured me that if anything happens before then he can be back here within 7-8 hrs ( i think he is dreaming ) We will just have to wait and see what happens. As I dropped him off last night he bent down to bump and told babs he wasn't allowed to come for the next two weeks. To which I replied "Sorry don't do requests babe. Babs will come when he wants to"

DH has asked me to stop taking RLT capsules and told me that I can't have any curries ( not that I eat them anyway). Obviously sex is now out of the window until he gets back.

Someone has to deliver soon or are we all going to wait until JUNE.

Take care all

Hello everyone...sorry for silence but nhave had connection problems & also have crappy head cold which will NOT go away (ds has it too so is waking up twice a night coughing). Apart from that am fine, just continually knackered & ds is being a hyperactive wee beast at the moment.
Had v exciting ds-free w/e - went up to Manchester to see Morrissey concert. Absolutely fantastic - he was a real hero of mine in the 80s. Was a bit worried about going into labour during the concert though! (However, it was Mozza's birthday too, so it would have been appropriate!) Ds stayed with BIL & had a great time & behaved like an angel. Slept in longer than he's ever done in his LIFE. BAck to his usual 6am for us this morning though. Why do they do that???
If anyone had said to me in the 80s that I would one day go to see a Morrissey gig in a volvo estate whilst 9 months pregnant I would have laughed long indeed...
Gotta dash as ds & dh just back from park & I have to take over. (Oh, baby's room nowhere near ready):0

Karen you made me laugh...we are an impatient lot Imagine the outrage of having to wait till June for our June babies! Fingers crossed that your little one hangs on till dh get back and you get him home for the month - mine is taking a few weeks off too, thank goodness cos I can't manage the two I have without adding another one to the muddle.

Scampadoodle I am SO jealous! Did you gyrate in a Morrissey-esque fashion or sit in a sedate manner?

karen01 · 24/05/2004 21:31

Hi all, (Sorry if too graphic) ( I have opened a thread so sorry if you are double reading)
I have had a yellowy/white discharge all day and a few times when I have wiped myself I have had spots of blood on the tissue not sure if it was on knickers as they were black.( I have checked that it was coming from the minnie area and not back passage) Could this be a little cut or do you think it could be the show. I really have no idea.
Have had stronger than usual BH over last two days (espeacialy lower back pain) which I put down to doing alot of housework etc.
probably nothing but thought I would ask.
thanks in advance
(paranoia (sp) stepping in I think or wishfull thinking!!!)

monkeygirl · 24/05/2004 23:00

Oh. My. God.

Yes yes it surely must be the show. I had something similar first time round - it wasn't huge amounts of mucous/blood but a few hours later my labour did actually start, although I do know that the show coming still means it could be days yet. I'm so excited for you but don't know if I should be crossing my fingers that it doesn't happen for a while yet?? I know it's a bit of a haul for your to get dh back. And not to mention that my prediction as to who is first would be wrong! Ha

Oh if you can bear it please please keep us posted.

SD: I was/am a real Smiths fan but not overly keen on Morrissey's solo stuff. However, I would be so excited to see him in concert or just walking down the street so am very jealous too. And I think you're very brave going to a concert being so pregnant. Start them as you mean to go on (music-wise)!

karen01 · 24/05/2004 23:08

i ohoned labour ward and they to;ld me to but a pad on and see how it goes, if back ache gets worse or get contractions, or waters break to go in to be checked. but since I have put the pad I have not lost anything it is clean.
Probably just a false alarm. First of many
Will keep you posted

monkeygirl · 24/05/2004 23:24

Well you are sounding very calm. I guess you have that hospital bag packed now...hope you have a good sleep tonight.

Skara · 25/05/2004 03:04

Oooooooh! I turn my back for a few hours and look what happens

Karen, labour started within a couple of days when I had the beginnings of a show the last time - how exciting! Wish something would happen here, the thought of my days dragging past for another fortnight is hideous. And now I can't sleep either - grrr...

monkeygirl · 25/05/2004 10:49

Karen - are you still around - how are you??

Skara - notice you posting very late/early - is that you giving up on sleep then? I have mostly bad nights too and dh says I've been snoring like a pig when I have been asleep.

Unfortunately poor dd1 has caught a bad cold/cough and had a bad night as well. And the poor thing also weed her bed so I am having to catch up on lots of washing today. I've been very lucky in not catching any of the colds going round for the last few months but am feeling rough today also. Is this another sign that I will go into labour soon as well as the fact that dh is not around much this week??

How are the rest of you?

karen01 · 25/05/2004 11:11

Still here, I am not 100% that it was the show but saying that from what I have heard etc everyones is different. As there wasn't a lot of mucus type discharge. Will have to wait and see what happens over the next few days I suppose.

I haven't mentioned it to my mam yet or DH. i will wait and see if i get more signs.

Take care all

niceglasses · 25/05/2004 11:21

Hi all

Thought I was away last night - very sick and rushing to the loo - always signs for me and then a couple of hours of twinges, but not nothing regular. All faded away once in bed - wonder if I will be a bit early this time? Would prefer to get to 37 weeks - just about 36 now.

Somebody must go soon eh?

Skara · 25/05/2004 11:54

Karen, fingers crossed something is happening...MG and NG you're going to beat me to it I reckon. I have this awful feeling this one will be 2 weeks late
I think the head might be engaged now, so hopefully lots of lovely hormones will shoot out and make me go into labour asap before I turn into a complete fiend. Oh and yes MG, was awake most of last night feeling like poo. Am totally knackered today consequently but (touch wood) at least no ill children. Is anyone else getting really bad headaches? Dh thinks I've forgotten them from last time and swears I got them at the end of my last pg, I don't remember though. Sorry rambling due to lack of brain cells...

skara- mention headaches to your midwife when you next see her then she can advise.

I have just spoken to DH and he is flying back next Wednesday. The only thing is he has to go back to Cyprus on the 23rd. So fingers crossed that something is /will happen before due date so that he can spend time whith DD, DB and myself before he has to go back.

I said the only other option is if i haven't had DB by due date then we will have to ask the consultant to do the C-section earlier than the 10 days so that DH can be here. That will be a pain but would rather do that than DH missing the wole thing. Why do men have to complicate matters. never mind.

karen01 · 25/05/2004 12:26

secur- have you got any friends that you wouldn't mind being with you during or until DH can get to you.

builders at the delivery sounds interesting . they would definatley get more than they bargained for on that days work..

Does anyone else have an area on there bump which is more painfull than anywhere else. i have a bit which feels bruised but not all the time. Sometimes it can be as I move round or even if i am just rubbing the bump. Think DB bum could be just behind though not sure.

god i am crap at trying to feel for baby parts too much padding me thinks

Gomez · 25/05/2004 12:45

Oh dear goodness Karen - is that all your frolicking catching up on you?? I may have to be brave enough and try the dreaded sex - althought to be fair to DH I keep joking that he wouldn't be up for it either and his continued silences suggests that is in fact the case

Secur based on the edited highlights I would reckon your life story would be a winner!! Also on the homebirth front you have more chance of producing DB whilst DH or kids are there than not - which does not however provide you with a backup plan. So no help from me there then! Sorry love. Do you have any definte warning signs where DH would just have to leave and take the chance that it is happening? Also how would his employer feel about that? You will probably be at work anyway you mad woman - are you not working until some stupid date in June??

Can't remember who asked (how rude) but Fridays mini-drama was that old blood pressure up, protein in urine, odema thingy which I am sure everybody must get at 38 weeks and onwards. Exepcting an action replay this Friday too - unless of course my feet and legs burst by then as I without a doubt have the most swollen lower limbs and fingers I have ever seen! Hands are really bad during the night with pins & needles/numbness etc. And to top it all off have developed a huge pile (okay it is probably about 2mm in diameter but feels the size of a turnip). I didn't get these first time around so am not chuffed...

Right best go and collect DD from Nursery. Mum is coming over this afternoon so I can 'finish' (or start depending on how you look at it) my essay. Take care all!!

Gomez, I have tried the dreaded deed three times now (dh thinks his luck is in, I keep my fingers crossed it'll start something therefore everyone is happy in their own little way ) and it has had NO effect, nor have the two whole pineapples, the numerous curries, the baths with clary sage oil...have even taken to running up and down the stairs whenever I forget something in the hope it'll jiggle the baby into action! I have even found myself looking up castor oil online, just to see what it says (bit dodgy by the look of it). I know I've got 2 weeks to go but I've really had it with being pregnant.

Secur you'll have to log on here and we'll have to be your birth partners! Seriously though I can really appreciate your worries, dh is working a good hour and a bit away at the moment, longer depending on traffic and my midwife has already said she's concerned this one might just shoot out before she gets there. All that nesting and energy must be a sign, in fact my midwife said that yesterday - when I stop feeling pathetic and start zooming around it'll be a sign of imminent labour. Personally I'm not so sure, I seem to remember having to force myself to clean and tidy which didn't seem very instinctive...

Will speak to mw tomorrow when I see her about the headaches - BP has been fine so far, but maybe it's gone up (eek).

Secur - one of my friends had a quicker labour than expected and ended up having it in the bath all by herself whilst waiting for an ambulance (and everyone was fine) Not that that bit of news will help you! Are you friendly enough with your neighbours to at least have one of them come to you very quickly and sit with you until dh/mw arrives? Make sure you have a mobile phone on you all the time as well maybe so that you don't have to crawl to a phone even!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with that bruised feeling in their tummy. I've got a spot about 2/3 ins above my belly button.

And Skara - yes get headaches checked out but I had really terrible ones between weeks 34-36ish (usually one-sided) but my bp was still normal - could it be our paranoia preying on our minds!

Niceglasses - has your puking stopped? My food intake has suddenly increased in the last few days (didn't think I could eat anymore but how wrong I was!) and am now craving lots of sweet stuff yet again.

Is everyone's dbs moving less now or is it just the same for you?

monkeygirl · 25/05/2004 15:03

Oh yeah, the only time I've heard the pineapple theory is on MN so I'd like to know more about it please (not that I like pineapple though - yeuck)
