DH and I had such a big row last week that I stopped the car in the middle of the road, got out and walked back to work!
I don't know what we were rowing about!

thelentil · 23/12/2014 19:42

Yeah, I've tried explaining to OH, he just stood there, raised his eyebrows, completely bemused, luckily his default response is hug, it usually works

RevoltingPeasant · 24/12/2014 09:26

Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!

Am writing from the office but going home at 4-ish today. The house looks lovely and DH and I are alooooone for Christmas - lovely!! Last Xmas alone, ever Confused That is a bit scary!

I suppose that goes for all of us though. Has anyone thought about that? It was occurring to me that assuming all goes well and dino survives, this time next year I will have a 10/11 month-old pulling ornaments off the tree and babbling. Who am I kidding, probably climbing the tree and setting the house on fire

The MW didn't make it out yesterday as she had two births, back-to-back so was off attending other 'labouring ladies' in her words! It must be such a full-on job.

Also at the risk of being a really irritating evangelist.... I have found the hypnobirthing massively helps the righteous indignation stuff. It makes me just let go and breeeeeeeathe.

greatbigbushybeard · 24/12/2014 10:35

Happy Christmas Eve rp & berries!!

rp that's an amazing but also slightly scary thought thinking a year ahead. We should all be lazy & enjoy this Christmas as next will be very different!

Still have this pesky cold, dh now has it too! In bed catching up on her after mammoth washing up session. Dh made Christmas ham last night so lots to wash up. Need to get on and wrap and make wreath for door.

Sorry about the rage lentil but hear it's quite common. I've heard people genuinely want to kill their partners for breathing the wrong way. It's hormones!! Perhaps rp has a point with calming meditation tracks.

thelentil · 24/12/2014 13:52

Last Christmas alone! I hope so

I'll give the hypno stuff a try if I get that far, I will probably try everything just to have lots of options

Rage has abated, replaced by mild irritation, I'll be able to get plenty of afternoon naps in as not going back to work until next year, woo!

ladybunnikins · 24/12/2014 13:57

I spoke to my mum yesterday, my parents are coming for Boxing Day but this is their first Christmas day alone since before I was born!

ladybunnikins · 24/12/2014 18:46

A BFP for Nolly! Merry Christmas everyone x

FeatherFeather11 · 25/12/2014 08:23

Great news re nolly!

Happy Christmas lovely berries. Hope you have a fab day and are spoilt rotten!

rp your future projection has been in my mind for weeks now! Amazing! Can't believe our babies are due so soon. And how much can change in a year. Last Christmas I was a mess because if the ectopic I'd had in November. Had totally lost hope, and now here I am, 34 weeks pregnant! Miracles DO happen!

Pipbin · 25/12/2014 08:25

Morning ladies. Happy Christmas.
I'm feeling a bit crampy today but trying not to worry as the midwife told me only to worry about cramps if they actually hurt, rather than ache.

greatbigbushybeard · 25/12/2014 10:44

Merry Christmas berries Xmas Grin it is amazing how much can change in a year hey! So pleased for you lovely berries getting near to popping time!

We're having a lovely time just being v lazy. Had a festive breakfast & present opening. Not due at PIL till quite a lot later so nice not having to hurry.

I noticed last night I was a bit crampy at the bottom of my abdomen, thought it might have been knickers digging in but think it's pg related, which is good as apart from being v hungry things seemed quite quiet. Had our 12 wk scan date through for January too. It's on a Friday which a great as I don't teach Fridays so I won't have to excuse myself!

So chuffed for nolly too!! I'm hoping for lumen.

thelentil · 25/12/2014 11:20

Merry Christmas Berries!

I think the cramps and twinges are normal, I get pains when reaching, sneezing, coughing, reckon it's just things expanding in places that don't normally see a lot of movement

Barely any symptoms today, which would be a worry but I remember after MCs the symptoms carried on for ages and ages, or seemed to, so it doesn't really mean anything, and there's nothing I can do about it anyway

greatbigbushybeard · 26/12/2014 22:01

Oooh it's quiet in here. Is everyone eating their boxes of Christmas choccies?

How was Xmas day newly duffed peeps? I was driving so didn't drink so that was easy, the cheese board I found harder. I wasn't sure whether garlic roule type cheese was ok so avoided it but usually love it. Does anyone know? Had cheddar and smoked cheese. I do miss the Brie though! We've had my parents round tonight which was lovely. Dh was saying that his parents were asking about them on Xmas day, saying we should get together soon. Dh said to me when we were alone how about the 2nd week of January, just after our 12 wk scan, I said yes if it's good news, he said yes and we had a hug. He admitted it's all he thinks of & that's why he keeps checking on me and whether I have any symptoms. I think the wait is hard, I so want it to be good news.

Talking of symptoms I've noticed the part 2 days I have a clawing type feeling low in my tummy as if it's really bedding in ( well, I hope it is!!) anyone else had this?

Pixie001 · 26/12/2014 22:17

Hey berries. I am so pissed off I can hardly type. So my dad and his wife know about our ttc issues and that we had a positive test after ivf. So DH me and my DB (the one that we recently found out are 3 wks pg ahead of us) are visiting dad and 3 step kids. We're all sat chatting and then my dad announces db's news about them expecting no.2 and then said...but that's not all, and announces that we're also expecting! I am so angry...he just totally doesn't get how day in day out dh and I are worrying about what the scan will tell us. And that possibly there isn't even an embryo to be talking about about ffs! So insensitive I can't believe it. I responded with the fact that we're not telling people yet as it's still early days. He later apologised but damage is done. seriously, what was he thinking? Xmas AngryXmas AngryXmas AngryXmas Angry

Pipbin · 26/12/2014 22:54

From what I understand Bushy the problem with cheese is that you can get listeria from soft cheese not that anyone has in 20 years, unlike alcohol say that actually has a direct effect on the baby.

I know how you feel Pixie, my folks have told bloody everyone. I had to tell them not to tell anyone until after the scan.

RevoltingPeasant · 26/12/2014 23:19

Oh Pixie, he wasn't thinking. He was just excited for you but that doesn't make it any easier. But you need to try and put stress aside. It's not going to help you, and what he told them can't be unsaid. You might text them and ask them keep it to themselves for now, but that's probably it in the way of damage limitation. Sorry that announcement was ruined for you though :(

Bushy the risk is listeria and it's quite rare but apparently it can cross the placenta. Another poster on another thread said recently that 20% of unborn babies who contract listeriosis die. No idea if that's true but I've avoided all soft cheese except mozzarella made from pasteurised milk. But then I am v v careful about all that stuff, and I'm sure there probably isn't a need!

RevoltingPeasant · 26/12/2014 23:27

In other news, I am suddenly feeling MASSIVE. I keep kidding myself it's all baby and not Christmas dinner and chocolate.... Hmm

DH and I had the most relaxed Christmas ever - just went for a walk, opened presents, made dinner, sat around groaning a bit Grin and went to bed. Today was even lazier if possible, but tomorrow I may brave Mothercare as we need a baby bath and some odds n sods. But we are almost entirely sorted for baby stuff now!

We also pitched tentatively on a name for a girl, following the dino's surprise sex change.

pip I also meant to say, I had lots of cramping till about week 13/14 and it scared me. I used to sit and put my feet up and relax whenever I got it. I don't think this made any medical difference but it made me feel like I was doing something positive. How far along are you now? Because I think the uterus does start to change shape fairly quickly.

RevoltingPeasant · 26/12/2014 23:32

Btw, who will start the next thread?? feather can you be persuaded? It will be your last chance to start a Berry thread!!

FeatherFeather11 · 27/12/2014 08:05

It would be an honour, rp!

FeatherFeather11 · 27/12/2014 08:28

Making our way home from the in-laws today so will check in properly and create a new thread as soon as I'm home!

greatbigbushybeard · 27/12/2014 10:11

Ooh new thread time, how exciting! I will try to avoid a tiger & not crash it!

pixie rphas said it beautifully again for me. He was just excited & I think other people aren't aware of how precarious things are for us, they are under the normal person illusion that you are pg then you have baby all plain sailing; whereas we are, understandably, more twitchy. We haven't said anything but it's been difficult and I've almost slipped up on a few occasions!! Think I've done quite negotiating the Christmas alcohol situ too. Have an evening round friends tonight but am drinking so that's that one sorted, then day after tomorrow same, so will volunteer to drive.

pip had to check it on my app thing but I am 10 weeks 5 days. I had my midwife appt on Thursday before Christmas & we got letter this week telling us scan date. She did say she would send it off straight away as it's v busy at mo.

rp your Christmas sounded perfect. I must admit dh and I have been very lazy!! Taking advantage of it whilst we can.

Ok, icky question here, if you get thrush whilst pg can you use canestan cream? Feeling a little itchy after finishing antibiotics & was wondering.

FeatherFeather11 · 27/12/2014 11:26

bushy Canestan cream is fine to use. Doc even prescribed me the pessary recently and I think I've finally managed to shake the damn thing. Not home yet but setting up the new thread now. Pack your things ladies, we're jumping on the first Berry Copter of 2015....

FeatherFeather11 · 27/12/2014 11:33

Guys! Quick! Leap on! Someone will need to do a list!
