Such fab news about otters!!!

I agree with pixie the wise, experienced berries are freaking the heck out of the wet behind the ears ones- orange coming out of your boobs- wowee!

rp brilliant news that Dino is doing so well and wow to the sudden gender reassignment!! Must be a bit hard to get used to but still absolutely lovely! Was just thinking of your little girl Dino and know you need a new name, what about Dinah or Diana to honour the Dino??!!

I'm feeling better thanks pixie. Going back to work tomorrow & have dh's work do. It's at a nice hotel with a spa, we get to stay over so that'll be nice! I am packing biscuits though as the hunger is getting onto a whole other level. It's like I'm hungry with a burnt feeling and verging on nauseous. I thought this was just purely to do with feeling icky with all the mucus making me feel sick but maybe it's pg.

Dh thinks I am getting a bump... However this could be a food bump from the amount of food I want to eat!! Noticed my pyjama bottoms are starting to run out of stretch room. Isn't this a bit early- 9 weeks??

Glad thinks feel real for you feather & that you've met such a lovely bunch in your nct class.

Had my midwife appt today, pretty quick & just form filling. I've got my booking in one in beg of January & hopefully scan not long after. We're going to have the downs nuchal bit done at the dating scan.

OttersPocket · 19/12/2014 10:05

I'm only dipping my little toe in to say thank you so much for the lovely congrats messages Smile

I'm very anxious and only 12dpo so not quite ready to jump in yet. But I really hope to join you guys soon.

RevoltingPeasant · 19/12/2014 12:12

Congrats otters and aquarius !!!! Great news :)

feather I have had that pain too though not as bad as yours, although the dinosaur isn't engaged yet, just cephalic presentation so I don't expect it'll ramp up for a couple of weeks. Are you on mat leave now??? I don't go off till 19th Jan and soooo much to do before then hence dicking around on MN Hmm

bushy and whoever else asked - yeah, colostrum, it's weird! Apparently it can happen from any time in the second trimester and whilst it's normally a yellowish/gold colour due to the very high fat content (like clotted cream/ buttermilk, I guess) it can be a pale orange too! I found out first when it stained my white bra a bit and now if I 'vigorously massage' I normally get some. But warning you are apparently not supposed to play around too much as the stimulation can cause 'uterine activity' so careful..... I keep doing it anyway

Anyhow, otherwise all good and looks like we have a new generation of clusterdiffers all raring to go, which is super :)

win are you around these days? Haven't seen you on in a while and hoping you're okay!

Pixie001 · 19/12/2014 14:49

Hey Aquarius...I remember you from the dark days! Did you have a natural or assisted Bfp? if you don't mind me asking. lovely to have someone on the same timeline. Are you having an early scan?
RP vigorously massaging...now that's an image!
Otter it's a scary moment clambering in the copter but lots of hands here for you to hold when you're ready.
Bushy wow you've seen a midwife already?! Impressed. I've got an appointment with my gp in a couple of wks time to tell them and kick things off as long as scan had gone well earlier in the week.

winohhh · 19/12/2014 15:32

Hello hello! Yes still here RP! Still struggling a bit with the GD. Just freaking myself out constantly with google!! Must stop. It must be weird to get your head around having a girl rather than a boy! Blimey! And colostrum! Wow... Not had any here...

I'm 35 weeks now! I can't quite believe I've made it this far. We have bought loads of stuff for baby now, although I still find it hard to picture me having a baby.

It's so nice that the copter is so busy. Hello and welcome to the new bfps!! And such great scan news!!!

Bushy, I defo had an early bump. Mine was all bloat and went down a bit before coming back for real!!

Aquarius1 · 19/12/2014 17:22

Hi Pixie, don't mind you asking at all - it was an unexpected natural after a failed ivf attempt. I'm seeing midwife next week & my fertility clinic told me I could ask her about getting an early scan if I had concerns about things. I've got concerns about pretty much everything so will def be asking about it!

Winohh wow 35 weeks! Has it gone quickly?

Otter congrats on your bfp Smile

chloechloe · 19/12/2014 17:47

Congrats aquarius and welcome!

Otters we'll keep a spot warm for you until you're ready to jump in!

rp I read that nipple tweaking can bring on labour too! But apparently you have to do it for an hour at a time, three times a day. So I'm guessing you're safe!? Smile

Eek I've just realised that lady's lovely list is in date order (I like!) and I'm quite near the top of the list. Had better start getting my act together! My lovely boss today unexpectedly gave me a maxicosi car seat (albeit group 2 so can't use immediately) and is insisting on lending us her moses basket and buying us a new mattress for it! Such a sweetie.

Hapy Friday everyone!

winohhh · 19/12/2014 18:38

Eek indeed Chloe! I think I'm at the top! It hasn't gone quickly at all Aquarius, although the end seems to be speeding towards me at an alarming rate! I had a mmc in feb, then pregnant again in April/ may. I feel like I've been pregnant all year!!!

Pixie001 · 20/12/2014 08:28

Found out from DM last night that DB is expecting #2 about 3wks ahead of us. I'm irrationally annoyed. Not only are they stealing my limelight dammit but it also piles on the pressure for this to be successful because if not, I'm going to have to watch SIL go through what I had hoped to. This is my time ffs.
Rant over.
In better news I'm finished for Christmas break now...2 wks off lush. But annual duty to see the outlaws this wknd. At least it keeps us busy rather than counting down the days for the scan.

Pipbin · 20/12/2014 10:06

How many weeks are you Pixie?

Pixie001 · 20/12/2014 10:37

5+5 pip.

ladybunnikins · 20/12/2014 10:39

At least your little pixie will have a cousin who is really close in age.
Before I got my BFP, I found out that my sister and a friend were both expecting their #2 children, both due in January, around the time my failed IVF#2 embryo would have been due. I was gutted. Obviously now it's exciting that we will all hopefully be off on mat leave together but I can understand how you're feeling when it's still early days.
Any nice plans this weekend? Apart from a big Christmas house clean and present wrapping, I'm going for an afternoon tea this afternoon with 2 friends, one of whom is expecting #2 two days before me (a double instadiffer so again, really glad I got that BFP!)

FeatherFeather11 · 20/12/2014 11:03

lady I'm going Christmas shopping. In Central London. I've not even started yet. Wish me luck!

rp mat leave officially starts on Jan 22 - I'm taking outstanding hols from Wednesday till then!

see you all on the other side. Shock

ladybunnikins · 20/12/2014 14:11

Good luck Feather! Luckily I only have a small family and I've done most of mine online.

greatbigbushybeard · 20/12/2014 16:37

Ello Christmas berries Xmas Smile

Feeling the love of no work for 2 weeks!!

We had dh's Xmas do last night, was good fun but a very drunk night. Interesting seeing the development of drunkeness as the night went on!! One of Dh's bosses knows about our news and was being really sweet. In the end dh told his wife who was really made up about it. I retired before then but dh thinks the rest of them all worked out I was pg as not drinking!! Dh was rather merry and we had a boogey but, and if know this sounds stupid so talk me down, in his excitement he picked me up and span me round in the air and our stomachs got a bit squashed, now I'm thinking that and the landing back on the floor & all the jiving might have hurt it. I just had this really irrational feeling that it might not be ok. Dh said he's so anxious about it and can't wait until the scan- he only says this when drunk, most Of the time he just asks me any symptoms. I think if we can get good news at 12 week scan it'll make us feel so much better about all of it.

pixie I agree with lady, think about the cousin aspect but I do know exactly what you mean, it is irrational but when it's taken a long time as well you think ' it's my time!!!'

We are having a very slow day and unhealthy!! Full english, mcdonalds and I've got one of those tubs of mini rolls from m&s... Think I've already had 3... Looks like the number is only going to increase!!

Good luck with the Christmas shopping feather.

RevoltingPeasant · 20/12/2014 20:17

Oh lots to catch up on!

Had an embarrassing pg moment today..... We went changing table shopping to a local furniture shop. I had with me a shopping list as we are having DSis and BIL over in a couple of days - also, randomly, we need to start perineal massage soon!

So the list read

[DSis name] and [BILname] over
Wine
Dinner stuff
K Y Jelly

I left the list on the manager's desk as he was printing out prices for me and walked out of the shop without it.

We can't buy a changing table from them, can we? Blush

Pixie001 · 20/12/2014 20:21

Bushy I keep getting told that it's a robust little thing so I'm sure it would have enjoyed your jiving! Sounds like a fun night!
Thanks to you and lady helping me down off the crazy b*tch ladder. Shall do my utmost to be positive and sensible. I just wish my DM hadn't told me about it to stress about. I think she did it with good intention on the basis that 'of course everything's going to be fine'. But I do now have a sense of a competition going on..! Saw the in-laws today who are ridiculously far ahead in the planning (talking prams, childcare, gave us a few of DH's baby clothes!) and said we seemed a bit negative about it. I think unless you've really lived ttc issues you can't relate to how scary it is. Especially when we've not had scan yet.
Bushy pass over the mini rolls. Here's a Christmas present opened early Shock box of choccies to choose from.
Happy pre-Christmas wknds everyone

RevoltingPeasant · 20/12/2014 20:27

win glad to know you are okay. And only five more weeks and then you'll have your baby and the GD will be over!

Pixie argh that is annoying. But you will have your baby and that's what counts :)

Lady crazy that you are already feeling movement! Do you know when you are off on mat leave yet?

Feather can't believe you are (effectively) on leave now - as we are due within the same week makes it feel so scarily close!!! Eek!

Bushy I have eaten half a tub of Quality Street, a decaf eggnog latte from Starbucks, and have just made mince pies. Health-o-rama!

Does anyone know if it's possible to give your baby Type II diabetes in the womb??

Pixie001 · 20/12/2014 20:29

Ha RP that made me laugh. Hope you weren't too set on getting a changing table from there? I have no idea what that massaging is...I have still much to learn but all in good time..

thelentil · 20/12/2014 20:34

I'm glad your pjs are shrinking too Bushy! I am feeling fat fat fat and I think I'm a few days behind you. I've been sort of hiding my belly from DH because it's too early to be so round! I can't even suck it in anymore

greatbigbushybeard · 20/12/2014 22:20

LentilDH thinks my belly is cute... It looks fat but I'm not worried!!

Oh rp you made me do a proper belly laugh!! Right, who wants to enlighten pixie & gross her out??

Glad I'm not the only one pigging out. I had some broccoli with tea thinking that might balance it out. Ok, TMI alert here... My wee is really cloudy, I expect I need to drink more but I'm a bit off drinks as in I don't know what I want. I used to like redbush tea but now it makes me feel queasy!

pixie perhaps it's my experience but I think people that get too overexcited and buy loads of things in the first few weeks are v naive... Still must be nice to be in such a bubble & have no doubts as to how everything will work out.

Pipbin · 20/12/2014 22:43

Bushy I have known too many people in real life who have had late losses to buy anything before 20 weeks.

School is out for two weeks now and I'll be in leggings and dresses until then. Will I be able to get back into my work trousers in January?
Booking in on Monday. Little bit excited.

RevoltingPeasant · 20/12/2014 23:43

Bushy are you taking Pregnacare? That can make your wee cloudy. But cloudy wee can also be a sign of nasties in the urine so you might want to get a sample tested by your practice nurse if it is a sudden thing.

Okaaaay I'll bite. Pixie perineal massage is massaging the perineum or tissue between the anus and vagina so it becomes stretchier and doesn't tear during childbirth. Not foolproof but supposed to have a positive effect. Supposed to start a few weeks before birth.

Pipbin · 20/12/2014 23:51

I don't want to think about things like that yet RP.

ladybunnikins · 21/12/2014 08:28

When I first heard about perineal massage I thought it just involved massaging the perineum, when I learnt it involved stretching the vaginal opening until it hurts, I went off the idea. There's even an expensive gadget you can buy called the Epi-no!
Good luck with the booking appointment Pip, mine was pretty boring but I got Emma's diary from her and then picked up my bag of freebies.
