Wooohooo Win, that's fantastic news! We started telling people once we got Harmony results (which was at about 15 weeks in our case). Enjoy telling people - it's such a lovely thing to be able to do.

I'm impressed at all you putting down nursery deposits RP - we've barely started thinking about that. I'm taking 9 months maternity leave then my husband is doing 3 months extended paternity, so it all seems a long way off.

Good to hear from you Puppy. Glad all the feeding etc is going well and Puplet isn't so little any more!

Can't believe this will probably be the thread when my little someone makes his or her entrance... seems like no time since my 12 week scan! Now due date (end of Aug) is getting closer and closer and milestones are zipping past. This is my last full week before I go on maternity leave which can't come soon enough. Hopefully today has been a good omen for a relaxing but active leave - aquanatal at lunchtime and pregnancy yoga this evening. Yoga was lovely but I really loved the aqua - it's so nice to feel cool and a normal weight, if only for an hour!

FeatherFeather11 · 21/07/2014 21:44

Brilliant news, win!! Woo hoo! So, so pleased for you. xxx

Bunnygirlie · 21/07/2014 21:49

Evening all!

Good to see your news win yay! Did they confirm your EDD?
Sorry I am obsessed with lists!

puppy glad all is well with puplet x

I had a lot of trouble with teeth brushing too, had to stop using electric toothbrush and used kids non minty paste for a while! When coco pops bounce it really ain't pretty!

Yep it's nice to have a pamper now and again, I can't do my own pedi anymore so having a few treats Smile

I was 9lb11 when I was born (2 weeks late) so some babies are that big!!!

win we told the mums (and dad) at 13 weeks, then close friends, then work at 15 weeks. It was getting obvious then! It's lovely telling people and seeing their excitement, when you are still feeling rough, like I did, it helps you feel more excited riding on their emotions.

Win that's fab news Grin we had told people before my scan as I was quite sick, my friends guessed and then the husband wanted family to know if friends knew. Some people wait until 12 weeks, I was of the opinion that if something went wrong our family/friends would help and it wasn't anything to be ashamed of

RevoltingPeasant · 21/07/2014 22:43

Jess I know, it seems crazy! But we know that if we get a real live baby we want to use this nursery - it looks brilliant and is literally 2 streets away, so will cater for the school where baby will eventually go, so they'll have friends there - so I don't see what we'd gain by waiting. I'll just do about 6 months max ML so actually we'd be wanting that place in a year from now - eeek!

Bunnygirlie · 22/07/2014 08:33

Crikey you are all so organised, I have no idea how much maternity leave I will take or which nursery to use when I do go back?!?!?

RevoltingPeasant · 22/07/2014 09:37

Eeeeeeeeek scan in 5 hours. I actually feel sick and it's not just MS.

Bunny I am the main wage earner and we can't pay the mortgage without my salary so we have to decide this stuff in advance as we'd be up the creek otherwise! Plus I work in a university so my boss will need to know am I coming back for such and such a semester, as it will make a difference to what modules they can offer the students and so forth (we run options/special papers that students sign up for the academic year before so it's all done a fair way in advance).

Anyhow eeeeeeeek!

FeatherFeather11 · 22/07/2014 09:39

Good luck today rp!! All will be well. Keep us updated! Hi everyone else. Rushing to work late and flustered so will check in properly later.

greatbigbushybeard · 22/07/2014 09:41

I'm glad you said that bunny!! I think rp has because she knows there's a waiting list, she's not having as long off and also cus she's v organised Smile think that's made the rest of us panic a bit! Also jess hasn't. Tbh it's making me overthink a bit! But then it's good to plan whilst summer hols are on. I don't know if I rock up to a nursery without a baby and no visible bump will they think I'm mad. It would just be good to get a rough idea of costs ( bloody expensive!!) what did you ask rp when you went round?

My dh made me laugh yesterday by saying he wouldn't mind staying at home because 'compared to what he does looking after a baby will be easy' hmmm, anyone else think he's in for a shock!! He was also shocked by the cost of Childcare and wondered about me going back full time. What are you guys planning on doing? I always thought I'd go back part time ( seems the done thing at my school) because we've tried so hard to get this baby I wouldn't want to miss out and we may only get to do this once. Other people at work say you get best of both worlds, adult interaction and time with your child. Although they all say part time in teaching isn't quite that as you end up doing lots at home.

jess how is it working with you taking 9 mths and dh taking 3 mths? Was wondering whether that would be an option for me. Then he gets to see what it's like. Evil laughWink

Interesting talk about when to tell people. I'd thought we would just tell all at 12 weeks but think we may just tell family and then selected friends when we see them. I was going to see some current and past work mates soon after scan too and thought I could tell them then but then I won't have seen my boss and think the best thing is to wait and tell him first but then that may mean waiting til September if I don't see him in holidays. I'll be 20 weeks by third week of school so could, if not huge, wait til then but think that might be rather difficult. But then all of this is dependant on scan coming out ok. Dh said the tension is building. It feels like the 2 ww before testing after Ivf, I tried to not think about it but it was there at the back of things.See,my brain isn't overthinking at all is itBlush

Another lovely day, breakfast in the garden me thinks!!

greatbigbushybeard · 22/07/2014 09:44

You'll be fine rp we're all cheering you on!! This is going to be me next weds-eek!!

greatbigbushybeard · 22/07/2014 09:53

Oh forgot to say yay for winoh, that's great. Can totally identify with 'coming out' feeling.

RevoltingPeasant · 22/07/2014 11:37

Sorry I didn't mean to make anyone panic Blush I am chronically overprepared for everything. It just stresses me out less to know, ah, that's sorted, no need to think about it anymore.

Anyhow sorry to keep spamming thread - feel like I am on here way too much - but took today off as I knew I'd be too nervous to work. So alternately doing housework in spasmodic bursts and hassling the poor decorator who is painting our house.

greatbigbushybeard · 22/07/2014 12:22

rp you are not spamming the thread, in fact post away. As I'm off it's nice to check in and see new posts! Good on you for doing housework, I need to sort myself out and do something. Been taking the loafing about a bit too seriously!!

winohhh · 22/07/2014 13:13

Good luck RP!! Hope it goes okay!!

CatsCantFlyFast · 22/07/2014 13:39

Guys it's really early for you to be thinking of this but we are buying a new car seat meaning our existing one needs a new home. Its a maxi cosi pebble with family fix base, bought brand new, barely used for 4 months. I know people don't like to buy car seats second hand as they don't know the history but we have not so much as scratched a wheel since we've used it, and it's like new. Anyway I just thought is mention it in case any of you might be interested in a bargain

winohhh · 22/07/2014 17:32

Completely distracted waiting for RPs update! Hope all is ok!

FeatherFeather11 · 22/07/2014 18:00

Also checking in for rp's update! Sending Berrie power!

RevoltingPeasant · 22/07/2014 18:17

Sooooo......

The Berry-Copter!!!
RevoltingPeasant · 22/07/2014 18:23

It was fine!!!

Actually it was lovely. The dino is fine, all limbs present and functioning. I had taken the instructions to fill my bladder v v seriously so she had to get me to go for a pee twice during the scan Blush But we got to see the dino moving around plenty. At one point it scratched its nose. DH was very pleased with himself - I could hear him thinking "I made that" Grin

The only downside was, the dino was so wriggly - walking, turning over, etc - they couldn't get a stable picture for the nuchal fold. They said they couldn't see any enlargement of it but they want me to go back next week for another go.

A funny thing was, the midwife kept saying things like "of course you'll know all about CVS already, but I do try to treat everyone the same" and she gave me the photos at the end without asking for payment. I thought how lovely.... Then when we got out the door DH had to explain that she thought I was a medic as my title is Dr! Blush Ah well.

FeatherFeather11 · 22/07/2014 18:24

Oh my rp!!! It's an actual baby!!!! Yay!!!! So pleased for you xxxxx

RevoltingPeasant · 22/07/2014 18:26

Merk whereabouts are you? Re car seat.....

RevoltingPeasant · 22/07/2014 18:27

Feather I know! It totally was. You could see everything. I kept thinking "it's so realistic - wait no - it's REAL!"

FeatherFeather11 · 22/07/2014 18:31

It's amazing rp! Thrilled for you. My scan from last week (10w + 4d) looks a bit like a baby but nowhere near as clear as that. The nurse did say we'd see a bit difference in two weeks. Here's hoping. Getting The Fear already.

When do you go back?

RevoltingPeasant · 22/07/2014 18:36

Thanks :) Next Tues. But not so nervous about that one!

winohhh · 22/07/2014 18:39

RP!! Yay!! Brilliant news! And you get another scan next week! How far along are you? Are you telling anyone yet? (We still haven't... I'm working up to it!!) we have our nhs scan next week, I'll be 14w 3d. Apparently too late to do the nuchal test, which is ok as they did it as part of the harmony stuff.

We do have an edd bunny. I'm almost brave enough to say what it is. It's sounds silly, but I've tried so hard to block it out so far because if things went wrong I didn't want to know what it was!
