Well good job you are having a baby and not cattle Grin

Bushy you may not get symptoms be grateful for it not everyone does so don't let that panic you. Also I think the twinges, based on my own feelings, are when the uterus and ligaments are periodically stretching so they won't do that continuously. So don't let the fact they've stopped worry you, I reckon.

Anyhow Jan babies are waaaay better! Ask my mum: 3 in July, 1 in Jan. She said the July ones were awful as she was heavily heavily pg in the most sultry heat. (sorry Jess and Bunny Blush ) But Jan was the best as she got the heat out of the way and was lovely and cool, and the house all snug for the baby.

Anyway your baby will be prettier Wink

greatbigbushybeard · 24/07/2014 19:20

Thanks rp Smile thanks for the reassurance too! It makes total sense but you know how it is! Your mind can go over to the dark side! And if I am still pg but avoided morning sickness then woo hoo but sorry for you guys that have it, must be grim. Is there a pukey looking smiley?

greatbigbushybeard · 24/07/2014 23:27

Arr was just talking to dh who asked me how I was, meaning any symptoms. I replied not really and it worries me. He confessed that it worries him every day and he's in total anticipation of next weds. I'm glad it's not just me! But this is what men are like, they keep it all in and then wander off to get a drink! I was going to tell him about my conversation with the yoga teacher but maybe he doesn't need the idea of being told there's nothing there at 12week scan floating round his head.

FeatherFeather11 · 24/07/2014 23:38

bushy you will be fine. rp is right: not everybody has symptoms and you just have to stay as calm as possible. 12w scan anxiety is natural. Am aware this is rich, coming from the Berrie who had a freak out two days ago and convinced herself that it was all over, but really, in a few days, it'll be sweet relief. I know your yoga teacher didn't mean to freak you out, but her telling you about what happened to her sounds a little bloody insensitive! Jesus!

How's everyone else? I've had a terrible headache today. Got home from work and fell asleep till 20 minutes ago. OH didn't wake me for dinner, so here I am at twenty to midnight eating a bowl of coconut rice. Mmm...carbs...

RevoltingPeasant · 24/07/2014 23:55

Oh yeah, and I couldn't eat before my scan because I was so nervous. It's natural! But about 99% unreasonable too Grin

Hang on in there. You have better odds than you ever had in any 2ww. You will get there!

greatbigbushybeard · 25/07/2014 08:25

Thank you guys for the boost. Just want to get to blooming Wednesday and know! Lol at your mega sleep a and late dinner feather. Coconut rice sounds yummy. I had the munchies last night after brushed teeth and in bed so had to go forage for bread sticks and a few crisps.

RevoltingPeasant · 25/07/2014 19:54

So how are we all coping in the heat?

it's really sultry and still here but no relieving thunderstorms forecast. Hayfever dire, too stuffed up to breathe - moan moan moan!

A friend offered me her old pram today - she wants rid so is bringing it around tomorrow - suddenly feeling very real! Confused

jessplussomeonenew · 25/07/2014 21:10

Enduring the heat with the help of vast quantities of cold milk (helps with the heat and the heartburn!)

greatbigbushybeard · 25/07/2014 22:22

Not wearing a lot!! Just been for a curry ( air conditioned restaurant) and walked home, quite pleasant at this time of night but most definitely have a curry baby bump!

CatsCantFlyFast · 26/07/2014 06:37

Verbaudet have a mat range called colline (also do some nursing tops which seem reasonable) which might be worth looking at when you start to need it. I haven't tried it myself and generally mat clothes are a bit crap, but their catalogue looks ok.
Also I have £15 off first orders with verbaudet so PM me if you're ordering anything

RevoltingPeasant · 26/07/2014 16:12

Sickness is back today, and DH and I had our first pg relayed argument, when the toilet became blocked last night and he wanted to try fixing it ourselves rather than calling an emergency plumber. It is still broken but I feel much less ragey today Grin

So my friend came round with the pram! It is a Quinny which she bought secondhand because the woman who originally bought it had been told she was having a boy, but it turned out to be a girl, and the pram was not pink Hmm Seriously!

She was having a clear out so also left me bags of clothes. Eeek. It is exciting but if something does go wrong I will have to make DH take it all back as I won't be able to face it :(

winohhh · 27/07/2014 09:25

What kind of pram is it RP? DH made me go and look at prams yesterday! Eek! This shit just got real! Also, speaking of weird dreams, I dreamt I went to the loo, inspected the loo paper (I even do this in my dreams!) and found a spot of blood, on closer inspection in turned out to be a massive insect!! So glad it was just a dream!!

I'm finding the heat is making me feel sick and tired, but more than anything, it makes it so hard to hide my increasingly fat belly! It can't be bump yet (14w1d) and more like a crisp and chocolate belly! I think we're going to start telling people if our nhs scan on Tuesday goes well. Hopefully that means no more hiding!

RP how's the toilet? The amount of times I'm going for a wee at the mo I'd be ragey too.

Hope everyone's coping ok with scan anxiety.

Bunnygirlie · 27/07/2014 10:07

Morning all! How we all doing?

Those are some scary and weird dreams you're having berries. I dreamt I gave birth, that's scary too!

This weather is doing my head in! Can't sleep so I'm irritable and my morning nausea is back every day Sad

FeatherFeather11 · 27/07/2014 11:21

Morning all!

win gawd, how awful. As others have said, it's just out subconscious fears messing with us. What time is your scan on Tuesday? My nhs is at 9am and then Harmony results and second scan is at 12.30 the same day. I wish it would just hurry up and be over with.

bunny oh no! Not the Return of The Sickness! This hot weather has been making me sick too. Sheesh. Yesterday I got out of bed and the room spun and I gagged on my toothbrush so hard my eyes nearly popped. I had to lay back down for a couple of hours. OH bought me some coconut water and it seemed to help. Might be worth a go?

rp prams and clothes! and seriously, a pink bloody pram?!

bushy how's the curry bump coming along?

Does anyone have any thoughts on when they'll tell work? I want to wait longer than this week, although oh and I have agreed that if all is ok on Tuesday we'll tell mates and family...

Right, can we have a quick run through of scan dates now? I'm losing track of everyone but I know it's a big week for us all.

Feather: Tuesday 29th; Nhs scan 9am, harmony results and scan 12.30 the same day.

greatbigbushybeard · 27/07/2014 12:33

Morning!! Or afternoon! I've just slept in, had dh bring me up a bacon sandwich and binge watched a couple of orange is the new black on I pad. Seriously need to get on but dh is out golfing so can do what I like!! Before I sort self out and do food list and shop thought I'd come on here!

My scan is Wednesday 30th 10am!!

Thoughts on telling work: well technically you don't have to until quite late, by 15 weeks before due date so that would be until 25 weeks. I think it's a mix of how long you can hide it and when would be a good time to let them forward plan, adjust your duties if necessary but also not to treat you too differently. At my workplace (teacher) most told after their 12 week scan. I'm currently on hols so could leave it til I go back in September to tell head or could tell him in holidays if he's in and I'm in. I would like to tell some friends that I work with that I'll see in hols but feel a bit bad telling them before him. Think that would be bad manners so don't know what to do... The other way I could play it to be extra sure is ( all going well and not too obvious) wait until my 20 week scan, which may be the third or fourth week of September but who knows! ( Also I'm burying head in sand a bit re it all as don't want to get ahead of myself until I know for sure on Wednesday. Putting work to one side I'd tell parents ( check with dh first!) then friends as and when I see them. I was quite let's tell people straight away after 12 week scan but then someone else said you don't have to tell your employer that soon and also, sounds really silly, but am a but afraid of telling people and something going wrong.

Pram talk really is shit getting real!

I have had some v weird ass dreams!

Curry bump not as bad as other night but pudgy!!

RevoltingPeasant · 27/07/2014 22:25

Today we went to Dorset to see ILs who rented a cottage there for the week. Was lovely although I drove for nearly four hours in total. Spent much of the day sitting around and got a sunburn. They have stopped having DC now so kept volunteering to give us stuff, including a cot and baby bath.

We did unblock the loo using a homemade plunger which DH put together from instructions on the internet. It worked, too!

I had the most humiliating moment of my pg so far today when on the way back from Dorset I decided I fancied McDonalds, which I haven't eaten for about 20 years. So we went to a drive thru but I had to leave without anything as I couldn't figure out how to work the drive thru Blush you used to talk to a human through the mike, but now I don't know what to do Blush

Also made the mistake of reading a thread about Keillands forceps. Ouuuuuuch. I am never ever letting anyone come near me with those things Shock

FeatherFeather11 · 28/07/2014 14:17

How's everyone doing?

I'm freaking out and need a wanging: just got a call from the fetal medicine centre to say there is a slight delay on my harmony results and that they're coming in this weekend. They said to go in for the scan and other blood results as normal. I asked whether this happens a lot and they stressed that yes, it does and not to worry, but I am now totally freaking out.

RevoltingPeasant · 28/07/2014 14:55

Feather - handhold Flowers

What it means, I reckon, is they are backed up. Or the technician forgot to do something and it has to be redone. It will be some procedural thing. Honest.

Go for your scan tomo. It will give you a likely picture. And then you can just have the Harmony results later as a refinement of what you will by then already know: that you have a lovely healthy baby.

Good luck tomorrow. In just 18 hours you will get to see your baby. You just need to get through that time. Much easier than a 2ww and so much better odds!

FeatherFeather11 · 28/07/2014 15:28

Thanks rp. Hope you're right. Roll on tomorrow. Looks like there is a sleepless night ahead. Now, I should get back to work.

winohhh · 28/07/2014 15:52

Sorry you're freaking out feather. I can't imagine it's anything other than a procedural issue. If they'd found anything worrying they'd have told you over the phone do they could book an amnio or something in. You'll still get your nuchal combination results, and they do a really detailed thorough scan, measuring all sorts, more than nhs 12week scan. You should leave feeling reassured, and then the harmony results will be the cherry on the cake at the weekend. Not long to wait now. I'm feeling nervous for mine too, even though we had a good scan last week. When does it end??!!

CatsCantFlyFast · 28/07/2014 17:27

Feather remember the FMC have NO control over the results, they're done in the US. The times it takes for the results to come back just depend on how busy the labs are. No need to freak out x

FeatherFeather11 · 28/07/2014 18:18

You're both right - I know you are. If something was wrong they would have said. Gah! I hate this! When will the reign of terror end!

greatbigbushybeard · 28/07/2014 19:30

rp have you had your maccy d's yet?! What a long old drive you had. Dare I look at thread about scary sounding forceps?

feather I'm going to say same as everyone else re harmony. Don't worry, you have nhs tomorrow yes? That should help you feel lots better. I expect as merkin says if they've been in lab in US then the delay is understandable. Love what rp said re less than 18 hours you get to see your baby. I have a little longer -48 hours but looking at it that way makes me realise it's not long at all, just need to keep self nice and busy tomorrow!

FeatherFeather11 · 28/07/2014 20:03

Thanks bushy. You guys all speak with such wisdom. Sorry to be so bloody 'me, me,me'. Will stop now. Nhs scan at 9am then fmc scan at 12.30. Big day.

win is it your scan tomorrow is is that rp? I'm confused! Either way, hope it goes well. Am sure it will. And you too, bushy for Wednesday. Flowers
