Having a wobble this morning :(
I don't feel as sick as I have the past few days. Someone give me a slap please! Still very strong positive tests...

Mrsgiblin1983 · 22/06/2014 10:29

Morning ladies, nice to hear about the little wrigglers fx I get there.

Blankfornames, I'm 5 weeks today and feeling very anxious. I've had two mc now so really hoping 3rd time lucky. I don't have very strong symptoms. I little queasy boobs are just starting to feel full.

I need a fish slap! I did something really stupid, I poas again using a clearblue digi one and got the same result as last week 1-2 week ( putting me 3-4 weeks) but I'm 5 weeks today. Could this mean my htg levels haven't gone up? Panicking now!!

OhTheDrama · 22/06/2014 10:37

SeaSalt fish slap administered. I think feeling like this is normal though. I often think it's such a shame that we can't enjoy pregnancy properly because there's always that doubt and fear in the back of minds.

Welcome anna and MrsAmelia congratulations.

Things have calmed down overnight and the Bren blood has tailed off a bit, I have a scan on Thursday so will try and wait it out until then. My EPU is a self referring one, so get's really busy, I doubt I'll be seen before Thursday anyway. It's going to be a scorcher here today so just going to enjoy the nice weather and try and get organised for our holidays on Sat.

OhTheDrama · 22/06/2014 10:38

Sorry brown blood!

OhTheDrama · 22/06/2014 10:41

mrsgiblin. Try not to worry, HCG can sometimes be slow to rise in the first few weeks. In past pregnancies, I didn't get a significant rise until 6 weeks or so.

squizita · 22/06/2014 10:52

Seasalt Mine varied wildly day-to-day (sickness). Don't worry! :)

TMI alert: 3rd trimester digestion has struck with a vengeance. Off to buy more fybogel and fruit.

Squiz my sympathies! I remember sitting crying on the toilet! Drink plenty of water if you aren't already.

squizita · 22/06/2014 11:00

Hi MrsAmelia ...I had a MMC last year and am now in the 3rd trimester. I am on clexane for a different condition (the cause of some other losses) - the MMC was chromasomal and this little bean has all her arms, legs and organs in place the place currently being kicked being my bladder.

FX for you Drama - I had brown blood in several of my pregnancies including this one so I thought it meant curtains... but evidently (based on this pregnancy where I had several days of brown spotting about 4-5 weeks) it could well have been 'one of those things'. Had a scan the week after, nothing wrong. FX same for you.

Anna Cramps are quite normal. I agree this thread might scare you... we're the minority here, most women (80%+ at your age) have their babies just fine after a positive test.

2nd TMI of the day (I can only reply to 1 page at a time hence 2 posts) OOH ME HIPS. No matter how I pillow up, they always feel squashed and bruised in the morning after a good side-sleep all night. Going to walk it off and stroll to Tesco. Buy some Radler 0% and a multipack of crisps and waste the rest of the day.

Mrs Giblin I wouldn't worry about what the digital test says. They aren't very accurate. You need a blood test to test hcg levels properly as urine will vary in how dilute it is.

My internet is running really slowly this weekend. Feel like I am stuck in the 1990s.

Have agreed to babysit for a friend on Friday. Now panicking that it will be bad news at my early scan that day and I will be all alone babysitting!

Mrsgiblin1983 · 22/06/2014 11:30

Thanks everyone exactly what I needed to hear. I did call my local epu and asked for a blood test but she was having none of it! If I'm still concerned I'll speak to my lovely dr xx

Gwlondon · 22/06/2014 11:55

squizita the dreamgeni is a nice pillow. Might be hot at the moment. It has a long pillow bit that goes under the bump and between your legs.

MrsAmelia · 22/06/2014 12:02

Thanks OhTheDrama and Squizita ...

Congratulations on your advanced pregnancy Squizita!

Keeping my fingers crossed Mrsgiblin1983 you have successful full three term pregnancy. Is your EDD the last week of Feb? My EDD is March 1st.

Wishing you all a lovely scorching hot Sunday. I won't complain about heat (even though I'm having ridiculous sweats and hot flashes (WTF?? Shock)) because days like these in the UK are to be treasured. Bring on the Vitamin D!!! Smile

OneLittleToddleTerror · 22/06/2014 12:51

mrsa your mention of vitamin d reminded me of an article I saw on the guardian today.

www.theguardian.com/education/2014/jun/22/autumn-born-children-better-sports-study

Interestingly the author of the paper attribute the better performance to the mothers exposure to vitamin d in late pregnancy. (It is not purely being oldest in class otherwise the best performers would be September born not November). Don't panic though ofc since this is just one factor and it is interesting scientifically. There are lots of other factors at play.

But yes we should all enjoy a bit of sun while it is here. It is good for the baby Grin. I am wearing my summer dresses and it doesn't feel too hot at all. Looking to buy some Birkenstock though since I'm struggling to do the buckles on my sandals. I had that last pregnancy too and I end up buying sketchers to wear over the winter. Slip on shoes are brilliant with a newborn too since I can put on and kick off the shoes without putting down a sleeping baby.

GailLondon · 22/06/2014 12:57

Phew!

Just back from my early scan...saw a lovely little 8 week bean in there with a heart beating away! Hubby and 2 yr old came with me and son held my hand the whole time, he's such a cutie :)
MC was at 12 weeks last time but I thing things had already gone wrong by this point so this feels like a good milestone

squizita · 22/06/2014 15:26

Gail Good to hear. :)

Got my GD and aneamia test results today - normal. :) Eats a cake

Excellent news Gail !

Enjoy the cake squiz Smile

LondonJen · 22/06/2014 17:30

GandT my mmc was defined purely on bloods. So yes bloods will tell an mmc in that they can show whether there is enough hormone compared to expected dates. For me, I had small amount of bleeding, the EPU was closed so A&E took my blood ready for a next morning referal to EPU, but I had to rush back with pain/heavy bleeding in the early hours of the morning, & I had clearly MC'd by the time I was scanned (which scan confirmed.) They used the night before blood to define it as 'Missed' as hormones weren't high enough to be 10 weeks. Not sure that helps, as obv I was bleeding too, but my experience.

Fantastic to hear of good scans and shoppping!!

Welcome new faces, congrats on your bfps. MrsAmelia my 1st pregnancy ended in MMC at 10 weeks in October last year, after bfp in Jan my current pregnancy is 24 weeks, so almost!

Mum just left. All the knits she's made are so sweet. Baby has been kicking a lot so no complaints here just tired. Sending all you first trimester ladies lots of posifrickentivity.

TeaRex · 22/06/2014 17:37

Hello to the new faces, congratulations :) and good news gail and squiz I've got my 12 week scan tomorrow :( I feel really sick about it, I'm trying to be positive but it's not really working. Slaps please?

squizita · 22/06/2014 17:39

London worth noting though that with one of mine it was the opposite- bloods were perfect. It was just the sac growing though, nothing else.
For that reason I personally would always ask for bloods + a scan together. One just wouldn't give me peace of mind.

OP posts:
GandTnow · 22/06/2014 18:10

TeaRex fingers crossed for you tomorrow. I hope you have a wonderful scan and will be able to relax a little after it.

Thanks for the information about scans/bloods, squizita and London. I guess I'll have to see what they do and hope that there is a scan too at some point soon. I've not got pain or bleeding so just really need to try and relax (easier said than done as we all know!)

GailLondon · 22/06/2014 19:30

Good luck tomorrow Tea!
