Fab news squiz sadly not a great nights sleep but better than the night before ds has decided to remind me what having a newborn will be like sleep wise and woke up every hour then decided that 5am was the time to get up needless to say I put a dvd on for him and left him to play in his room lol reading what you guys have said about shopping I am beginning to think there is something wrong with my DH as he has already gone out and bought a ton of clothes I am making him keep them at his mums for now which may or may not be a good idea as she is a heavy smoker so they are going to need allot of washing and airing when I do let them in the house. Been avoiding her house like the plague coz of the smoking thing but I have to go tomorrow as DH promised we would take DS to see her terrified the smoke in the air is going to make things go wrong though

Babytinx11 · 20/07/2014 11:17

I probably should add I don't like DS going there either but she does air her house out before we go it just bothers me

GailLondon · 20/07/2014 12:51

Yay just back from my 12 week scan!
All looked perfect, baby kicking and stretching out like he was chilling on a sun lounger with arms behind his head!
I think I can actually believe I'm having a baby now!

GandTnow · 20/07/2014 16:34

Gail that's wonderful news! I bet it feels great to get to the 12 week marker- hopefully you'll be able to relax a bit now (that's what I'm hoping for anyway! Only 18 days to go til mine!!!)

OneLittleToddleTerror · 20/07/2014 20:36

Nice to hear all the good scan news going on.

We haven't been DTD much during pregnancy. I felt so so sick in the first trimester I literally came home, had dinner and went to bed. We did some in the second. Now I'm back to being feeling rubbish again. I felt so hot, sweaty, tired, constipated, basically nothing is right. I just don't have any desire other than lie in bed in an air con room. I'm really miserable sounding isn't it? DH charmingly commented how I don't have an ankle anymore yesterday. I didn't notice it before but they do look swollen.

squiz that's great bargains you got from kiddicare. And I definitely agree the maclaren is a great buy. We used our bugaboo when DD was in the infant carrier because we didn't want to wake a sleeping baby up. But it takes up all the boot space. She is quite petite so I think we have her in it till about 15 or 16mo. Now the bugaboo lives in the garage and is used for the nursery run or going to the local shops. Or when we go for walks in the countryside. (The maclaren is horrible in country lanes). Otherwise we keep the maclaren in the boot and use it for all other outings. It is just so small when folded up. We have taken it to two trips aboard too. It is definitely money well spent. Especially if you use public transport a lot, the travel system won't be as useful.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 20/07/2014 20:39

The nursery and the local shops are all within walking distance. What I meant is I don't take it in the car unless we went off road! We don't have public transport here.

Great news gail x

Also maclaren fan here. Wasn't great when v small as didn't feel that supportive but once sitting up properly we loved it and use it for shopping trips, local journeys and holidays!

Fab news gail

Me and DH haven't done the deed since I got my BFP, I refused early pregnancy as I was scared of miscarrying again, then from about 16 weeks I was having too much pain for my hernia so didn't, and now at 33 weeks I'm too big to even try. DH has been so good bless him, but does ask on occasion whether we will before the year is over as we haven't done it since December 2013 lol x

InternetFOREVER · 21/07/2014 11:34

Have been lurking for the last few days.... can I join you please? (eek!) Am 5 weeks today after three MMC in the last year (two of which they thought might be ectopics but weren't). Have been to lovely GP this morning and she's sent me off for BHCG 48 hour tests, so hopefully by the time I get to my scan I'll have a good idea if things are going well or not. Have days of massive positivity (like today, hence biting bullet to join thread!) and days when I'm convinced its going to go the same way as last 3.
Any wise words to get me through the next couple of weeks? Flowers. Its such agony waiting, and I can't believe it gets any easier until baby is here!

Gwlondon · 21/07/2014 11:57

Congratulations happilymarried155 , tannyloo And GailLondon on your good scan news!

mrsgiraffe12 I am glad you got to see a consultant who spent some time with you. Good luck.

cuppachuplaz my movements come and go. (20 weeks) I think it is because they are so small they can still get into a position you can't feel. I was googling his and it is later that you have to monitor movements and get used to your babies pattern. I will ask my doctor it this week and post what he says. I am fining it unnervingly too and can't wait until they are regular and I can encourage baby to move for me!

Welcome to everybody who is new to the the thread!

No news. I have a scan this week. Fingers crossed. I haven't had any other infections so fingers crossed for that too. I would really love some uneventful time!

Good luck to everyone.

Gwlondon · 21/07/2014 12:01

internetforever I have no words of wisdom because I found it so stressful waiting for 12 week scan!!!! My doctor did request two other early scans but to be honest the 12 week scan was the only one that really helped me. I have never had very early scans before and things looked a bit different from what I was used to.

squizita · 21/07/2014 13:48

Internet yep sorry like GW I was just a nervous wreck before I had scans/bloods. However a DR who gives you TLC alone improves outcomes dramatically so you're in good hands! :) FX for you!

Gail super news! :)

Thanks for the buggy advice, folks! :)

Is anyone else very clumsy now they have a bump? I keep spilling food on me (ugh, pet hate) and just being a clutz. Blush My DM wants to do a little babyshower for me and all I can envision is five cream horns and a bowl of potato salad ending up in the cleavage zone of my voluminous maxi in front of assorted cousins, old school friends etc'!! mrsg daft question I have what they said a while ago was a small hernia it just kinda looks like a lump in my belly button It came up just after I had DS is it likely to get worse during my pregnancy and should I mention it to my gp in advance I've just kind of ignored it as it doesn't hurt ect but seeing you talking about hernia problems I was wondering if I should ask before the it potentially gets bigger

CorporeSarnie · 21/07/2014 18:23

squiz, I don't think I'm more clumsy, but I think the bump means stuff ends up on me instead of the floor! That said, I managed to get chocolate biscuit down my cleavage during a meeting today... Not a good look Grin.

GandTnow · 21/07/2014 19:14

Right, really need a huge whale slap please! Having spent the day in clothes that are too tight, too hot and make me look fat I decided this can't go on. However, rather than being rational about it and going to get old mat clothes out of boxes upstairs, I had a wobble (last time I saw them was when I was chucking them in a box after scan that informed us of mmc). I just can't bring myself to look at these clothes so instead bought some of the internet instead. On what planet does that make any sense, now I'll get emails et al about mat stuff and what if it all goes tits up again - bollocks.

squizita · 21/07/2014 19:29

G&T yeah I was crazy like that. DH kept saying "your womb and your blood doesn't know what you're wearing, there's no such thing as jinxes!" :) If you're worried you can un-subscribe as soon as you get advertising emails and just enjoy your new clothes spam-free!

OneLittleToddleTerror · 21/07/2014 20:03

gwlondon the consultant I saw said expects movement around 23-24 weeks, and then regular movements from 28 weeks. This is for an anterior placenta, so you might be a little earlier if yours aren't anterior? I think both you and cuppa are far too early to worry about it yet.

g&t I know exactly how you felt. That's how I ended up with some ridiculous purchase from M&S that I'll never wear. They aren't maternity clothes but just quite baggy stuff. I'm really regretting it now. But at the time I just do not want to wear maternity clothes. Looking back I should have just bite the bullet and get some new summer ones. At least then I'll get to wear it for 6 months. Now I'm 31 weeks and again don't want to buy anything because it's all going to be over soon. But it's so hot and I only have three dresses, a pair of work trousers and 4 tops. I can't survive in this heat with this. Especially once I gone on maternity leave and not in an air con office all day. I need to buy some maternity shorts or just more dresses. You know buying or getting your old maternity clothes down isn't going to jinx anything!

Gwlondon · 21/07/2014 20:33

Thanks for info OneLittleToddleTerror. Yes I have no idea where the placenta is at the moment!

OneLittleToddleTerror · 21/07/2014 21:11

gwlondon have you looked at your 12 and 20 week scan notes? Mine says anterior placenta on it. No one ever told me directly though.

Babytinx11 · 21/07/2014 22:05

gandt I know the feeling with the maternity clothes I have the stuff I bought last time and I feel sick looking at it I'll probably be doing the same as you and buying new in a couple of weeks. It's not just clothes though I have refused to do eat and drink certain things coz I did last time and it all went wrong. Really hoping when 12 weeks comes I might get a bit more rational. Don't think you need a fish slap it's the memories that the things hold that does it chin up enjoy your new clothes coz lets face it it's a good excuse for me clothes :)

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 21/07/2014 22:07

Remarking. Will have a read through later bt congrats Gail & hugs for G&T, it makes sense to me!

I have my 20wk scan next week, on ds2s first birthday. Great!

GandTnow · 21/07/2014 22:14

Thank you everyone, good to know at least you're all as mad as me!! Grin

GailLondon · 21/07/2014 22:16

Loving all the good news here the past couple of days!
Had a good day today, 'outed' myself to work colleagues this morning so it all feels real now.

Welcome internet, when is your first scan? I found the first tri waiting and uncertainty really hard, and mainly dealt with it by putting my head in the sand and acting as if I wasn't pregnant ( ie not allowing myself to make plans and believe there actually was a baby). That and to keep planning lots of nice weekend activities, meals out etc to help the weeks pass by quicker!
