I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

KillashandraRee oh wow! I had my 2 nd baby within 24 hours of my show. Keep us updated!

KillashandraRee · 22/05/2014 19:58

No signs yet so trying not to get over excited and failing completely!

RoseberryTopping · 22/05/2014 20:02

Have you got a birthing ball thing? Get bouncing if you have! If not can you get out for a vigorous walk? Or even DTD if you dare?!

Wish I'd had a show!! Good luck!

PurplePunkPrincess · 22/05/2014 20:05

I never had a show (that I noticed) with either of my other 2.

Try not to obsess and assess whether you are or are not maybe going into labour as when you need to know you will know, and if you have to think about it then you clearly don't 'know' yet.

I only truly realised this 3rd time round and wish I had have thought like that with my 1st!

livingzuid · 22/05/2014 21:43

killas hope you have had some progress!

I had a show today too! My plug went (sorry tmi but I got so excited). Then I remembered that I had an internal yesterday and that must have been the reason :(

But then period like pains have been coming and going all day which I have not had throughout the pregnancy, along with back pain similar to my period so I am keeping my hopes up something will happen in the next few days.

KillashandraRee · 22/05/2014 22:02

Living that's exciting when is / was your due date?

No signs here but I'm happier after the show than I was before it. I feel I'm less likely to be looking at induction in 11 days now.

sazzababs · 23/05/2014 01:06

I was on the Maybies thread, but can't really keep up and found you lot! Hope you don't mind me joining you!!

Was due on Wed but I'm still a tired, swollen and hungry heffalump... I'm debating whether to get a cheese sandwich at the moment... :D

KillashandraRee · 23/05/2014 03:29

Hi Sazza, I popped onto maybies at the start bit like you couldn't keep up!

Am awake as DS just woke up, now can't sleep. In spare room so I don't wake DH and am analysing every ache and pain. Just had a bit more of a show I think and am getting some period type cramps but no labour signs yet.

SicknSpan · 23/05/2014 03:35

sazza I can't keep up with them either! How cheese sarnie was nice.

Got up to go to the loo at 2 am/ take zantac (chicken korma at 7PM giving me terrible indigestion) and now I can't body well get back to sleep. Humph grump mutter mutter.

Have decided to stop driving as it hurts too much and I'm scared I can't brake/ emergency stop quick enough. Boo.

KillashandraRee · 23/05/2014 03:38

I've stopped driving too SnS I'm too uncomfortable behind wheel and as I'm a short ass I can't get feet to touch pedals without bump being too close to steering wheel!

livingzuid · 23/05/2014 04:30

killas I am due 6 June but if no joy in the next week I will be induced Friday next week or the following Monday. Not allowed to go over 40 weeks but I'd really like to avoid an induction. The baby is getting lower and lower every day and the head is engaged but urgh this waiting game and analysing every twinge makes me jumpy! I'm getting more regular backache so fingers and toes crossed. Have you had anything overnight?

Going for a pedicure and cut and colour today in anticipation though Grin

Sympathise with you all on the sleep thing. I was pacing at 2am. And the acid. I've gone through so many packs of rennies.

Not sure whether to drive any more or not - bump is still OK behind the wheel and it's only 10 mins to pick up dh from work but my nausea is pretty bad and I don't want to start contractions in the car!

Hope you all have had some zzzz and that there's some action soon :)

nugget05 · 23/05/2014 06:31

Well I'm still pregnant Sad 41+3 sweep on weds did absolutely nothing but hurt me, it still hurts now so I'm getting even less sleep! Going to be induced on Sunday and praying that gets this lazy boy moving I really don't want a sunroof! Good luck to everyone gettin twinges hopefully this is it for you! Smile Cake

KillashandraRee · 23/05/2014 07:15

Oh nugget Hmm sending you eviction vibes.

So woken at 1pm by cramps and more of a show, then cramps every half an hour until about 6am and now nothing.... Argh!

evertonmint · 23/05/2014 07:51

Those worried about induction, I had one with DC2 at 40+13. It was actually a really great experience and I had such a high afterwards! Seriously :) Although it can lead to intervention, it can also go just fine, so please try not to worry about it.

These pesky babies, they come when they're ready and not a day sooner or later!

I'm 37+1 today and made it through DH's last business trip safely so breathing a big sigh of relief! Got a bad cough at tail end of my cold which is causing my pelvic floor no end of grief Hmm, but otherwise doing reasonably well for this stage compared to my last 2.

adaloveslace · 23/05/2014 08:42

Sounds exciting Living and Killashandra! I hope you have more luck than me. I had my show 6 days ago, and not a peep since. But this is my third time and apparently 3rd time labours are slower to take off than 2nd time round.

I was up last night with pains too, Killashandra. They came every three to four minutes between 1.30 and 3am ish and then just tapered off. I kind of knew it wasn't the real thing as (look away now, first time mums-to-be) it wasn't excruciating enough. I did ring the hospital who said third time labours can be "very stop-starty" and second babies are usually faster. It's evening here now (Oz) and no twinges since, so I'm hoping for a quiet night. Too tired to be pushing humans into the world today.

Iwillorderthefood · 23/05/2014 09:07

Half term started for my DDs, with an INSET day. DH who travels a lot, thinks he is being useful by working from home. It's a nice sentiment, but he works with the US and is on conference calls several times a day and actually it is a little stressful. The girls want to go and talk to him throughout the day, but they cannot. Mind you, got to stay in bed until 8.30 today YES!!

Excited for all you that have signs of imminent labour, want to hear baby news soon. I, in the other hand, am trying to gauge the best time to book an appt to get my roots done. I don't want look ancient in the first photos!

qazxc · 23/05/2014 09:27

Pineapples were 49 cent in Aldi, I bought 6 hoping that there might be some truth in the fact that fresh pineapple gets things going.
Small child doing shopping with mum went "she's taking all the pineapples!". Mum muttering "no she isn't there's loads of boxes underneath". Child "But why does she need SO MANY!!!!".
Even DP was a bit Shock Hmm when i got home.

SicknSpan · 23/05/2014 09:33

killashandraRee I totally cross posted with you last night, can believe someone else was up at the same silly time! Hope you manage to catch up today.

I am not even overdue yet-39 weeks today- but as ds1 and ds2 arrived at 38+6 and 39+1 I was hoping it would be nowish. Plus midwife promised suggested she thought it might be too.

Like you Adaloveslace this is our third, (had heard the stop starty reputation as well) and a surprise one too so not sure of my dates and have always thought I was a little bit further along than medics. But hey ho it'll come when it comes, am off back to bed after school run now to make some warm fuzzy cozy oxytocin vibes. Am reading a book on natural childbirth by Australian Midwife Juju Sundin at the mo- it's fab. I hope.

Have a good day ladies, hope some of us are no longer needing this thread by the end of the day!

evertonmint · 23/05/2014 09:33

Pineapples! I inhaled them towards the end of my first pregnancy in he hope they'd do something. When I'd had DS, DH brought me some nice snacks to the hospital including, very thoughtfully, a Tupperware full of freshly chopped pineapple. He couldn't understand why I'd loved it just a couple of days before but now couldn't bear the sight of it Grin

adaloveslace · 23/05/2014 09:54

I'm not even due yet Sick - only 37 + 3, but as DS arrived 6 weeks early and I had a show a week ago, I FEEL overdue! I could have 5 weeks to go yet though....aargh

qazxc · 23/05/2014 11:46

Evertonmint please tell they worked lie if you need too.

evertonmint · 23/05/2014 12:50

Well, something worked as he was born Grin Plus pineapple tastes nicer than raspberry leaf tea and is less exhausting and unsexy than very late pregnancy sex, so it's worth a try!

Iwillorderthefood · 23/05/2014 14:50

Congratulations evertonmint. I hope that you and the baby are both doing well.

PurplePunkPrincess · 23/05/2014 15:10

How much pineapple exactly did you eat evertonmint?! adds pineapple to DPs shopping list

Congratulations and I hope you are not just lying as a pp requested WinkGrin
