I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

Just why do some people do that. Why does having a bump suddenly encourage them to touch you without even bloody asking Angry I'm always so shocked when it happens I forget to use the cutting put down I've saved especially for that occasion and just waddle off as fast as I can.

RoseberryTopping · 21/05/2014 11:39

Have to admit when I've been in a bad mood and someone has shouted "OMG you're huge!!" to me I've said the same back!
I know I've been guilty of saying things like not long now etc to heavily pregnant friends, but really what else can you say? I know I've always been very careful about personal space though, it's just common sense.

I really can't bloody wait till he's out though, this is definitely the last time I put myself through this!

Oh ladies may I join you? I finish work on Friday and I'm either going to kill someone or collapse into a sobbing heap before then.

I'm 33+1, SPD and just so bloody tired. And if one more ONE MORE person tells me that I don't know what tired is until the baby gets here I'm going to beat them with my handbag.

PurplePunkPrincess · 21/05/2014 12:22

With my second I was whining to the midwife about how I want the baby to come now so I could sleep. She looked horrified and said you know babies wake up at night? I said this was my second and at least you actually get some normal sleep in between feeds!!!! I was right, I felt much better after he was born despite night time feeds, early starts and 2 under 2 year olds!

My dp keeps saying oh why don't you have a nap or a bath? Hmm

Considering I had a false start at 24 weeks and thought the baby was definitely coming, I only started getting (sadly very mild) Braxton hicks last night.

I'm trying to convince myself that I'm ready, (trying to affect the chemicals and hormones in my brain/body) I have put out my breast pump, steriliser, bottles etc in the kitchen. I am going to put sheets on blankets on the Moses basket and put that by my bed etc.

this could be a very bad idea in theory! And irrelevant as we don't even have a car that we can get a car seat fitted in yet Hmm

adaloveslace · 21/05/2014 12:23

Roseberry, I found another one tonight. Horrible little fecker. Next one I'll photograph and upload, just for you Wink

Other expressions I want to ban:
"You haven't really dropped yet though, have you?"
"But you told me 3 weeks ago you had 3 weeks to go!"
And my very favourite....
"Are you STILL pregnant?"

PurplePunkPrincess · 21/05/2014 12:32

Coldofhands, handbag whacking these idiots sounds like a good plan.

LucyB1 · 21/05/2014 12:36

I'm 33 and have just retuned from a weekend in Rome. It was such hard work and has knocked me for 6!! 2 days later and I'm still absolutely shattered!!

PurplePunkPrincess · 21/05/2014 12:47

I'm feeling very nauseous and tired today and time is going so very very slowly.

Darksideofthemoon88 · 21/05/2014 13:14

Anyone else on maternity leave and finding it really dragging? Was great at first as I was really struggling at work, but now I'm feeling kinda isolated and grumpy... I have next to no energy to do anything, but the less I do the worse I feel. Missed the gym today as I couldn't get out of bed (would've had to go into town early with my DP on his way to work) and now I feel guilty and crap and don't know what to do with myself. We live in a small flat so there's only so much housework I can do! Feeling pretty down with it all now and dying for DD to arrive.

ruthsmumkath · 21/05/2014 13:30

We live in Dubai currently - so have a/c in house - although collecting the kids from school I have a long walk carrying a 3 and a half year old in temperatures over 40 degrees. Not fun then!! 38 weeks but my others went 1-2 weeks over so not getting my hopes up here!

livingzuid · 21/05/2014 14:42

I was off from week 17! I was so grateful for the chance to rest though. This last month has been groundhog day. Same old same old. Does it never end?

missusbond007 · 21/05/2014 14:43

I'm only 13 weeks and fed up!! Nothing fits, been terribly sick for weeks and my hips and back sore due to hormones. Feel terrible because folk keep saying 'how wonderful it must be to he pregnant' and I'm just not feeling it haha!!

Iwillorderthefood · 21/05/2014 16:55

The baby seems to like thudding into my pelvis ouch. The pressure is tough going and my pelvic floor is definitely not what it used to be! 3 weeks til due date. At the same time feet in ribs a lot.

Iwillorderthefood · 21/05/2014 16:57

Also scared about how I will cope with a newborn plus the school run eeeek.

TheOriginalWinkly · 21/05/2014 17:17

Iwillorder You'll probably cope better with a baby you can pop into a pram or sling and nip out to school than you will with a baby whose head is ramming into your pelvis and bladder and whose feet are in your ribs!

My bits have started hurting a fair bit especially when I walk in the last few days. Is this baby starting to drop or is it just a new torture? Nothing is being helped by my asthma playing up, I've got a delightful chesty cough and am short of breath. Boo.

evertonmint · 21/05/2014 17:30

Hello! 36+6 with DC3 so full term tomorrow so you'd think I'm not far off now. However, DC2 was 13 days overdue and induced so I may still have another 5 weeks to go...

I'm so glad the heat has died down - this weekend was horrid. Otherwise I've generally been feeling ok as it's been my best pregnancy so far and I'm still sleeping reasonably well. But the baby is now part-engaged and my pelvis is really feeling it, and I'm finding the scjool/nursery run very knsckering. I don't really want the baby here just yet, so will start the homemade eviction process next week when I'm nearer 38 weeks

RoseberryTopping · 21/05/2014 17:41

Haha thanks Ada! I've always wanted to have a go at removing one, looks very satisfying.

Theoriginal that pain does sound like baby is engaged, that's a good start! Mine is head down but not engaged I don't think, his head still feels a bit wobbly when I feel it.

Darkside I know what you mean, I felt the same with my first, it really does drag when there's not much to do and you're removed from your usual routine. I've been a SAHM for 4 years now though so am pretty much used to it now, DS keeps me too busy if anything :( the only other good thing about my DP working away is I don't have to worry too much about housework!

Anyone on their second DC, did you go overdue? My midwife assures me that my body knows what to do and I won't go over this time but I don't know whether to believe her. I do hope she's right, I'd be happy to go in to labour right this second!

IamMrsElf · 21/05/2014 17:56

Thank god it's not just me! I know it's a privilege to be able to get pregnant and have babies - but ffs I've had enough! I'm only 27+1 but I've had enough!! The swelling is getting worse in my legs, movement is restricted, I constantly need to wee, sleeping terribly, definitely had enough!

This is my 3rd pregnancy so I was hoping to really enjoy Hmm it. I worked with DS1 & DS2 but having a 2 yr old and 4 yr old to run after has not been restful and there is no maternity leave from motherhood.

I do completely empathise with all the ladies who are on mat leave and bored out of their minds. I remember with DS1, the first few weeks were great, I got loads of nesting and housework done, caught up on tv and visited a few relatives and friends; then descended into a world of boredom and inactivity.

DS1 was born at 42 weeks - ended up as emergency CS. DS2 was born at 41 weeks - elective CS (he was huge and if DS1 wasn't coming out naturally, neither was DS2!) DS3 is going to be elective CS too, hopefully at 38ish weeks, can't come quick enough for me!!

IamMrsElf · 21/05/2014 18:00

With DS2, when he was 41 weeks his head wasn't engaged. That baby was not going anywhere! My midwife did a stretch and sweep at 40+1 weeks but said because the head wasn't engaged there wasn't really much point.

evertonmint · 21/05/2014 18:07

Roseberry - you probably don't want to hear this but my midwife said I'd be lucky to get to 38 weeks with DC2 and I actually went 13 days overdue and had to be induced! I only went 4 days over with DC1 so wasn't expecting DC2 to take so much longer. IME pregnancy needs that financial services disclaimer of "past performance does not guarantee future returns" :)

Aylish1993 · 21/05/2014 19:59

I'm 38 weeks and there's nothing I want more then to be able to turn over in bed with out it taking 10 mins then realising halfway through moving I need a wee, I hope to god I'm not going to go over due. Must say though those who have worked through your pregnancy or/and have other children you must be superwoman because I feel like death all the time :)

PurplePunkPrincess · 21/05/2014 20:24

Iwillorder, how many dc do you have? I'm due 11th June with ds3 and also dreading school runs, my dp has been doing them all since I was 25 weeks (he works from home)

Baby seems to be whacking my pelvis and my ribs too Confused

NeedaDiscoNap · 21/05/2014 20:31

Can I join in? I'm 36 weeks and well and truly ready to hand this baby an eviction notice!

She has her feet lodged under my ribs which is so bloody painful, and my back is also killing me. So if I lean forward, it hurts my ribs, and if I lean back, it hurts my back.

For various medical reasons I might be getting induced, but they're scanning me once a week now and taking it week by week... All the waiting around is so frustrating!

Iwillorderthefood · 21/05/2014 21:15

theoriginalwinky yes you are right.

purplepunkprincess I have two aged 5 and 8' so reception and Y3. I am due June 11th too, and yes am dreading the school runs. Have done them throughout the pregnancy, walk the morning one, but drive the second, it's a two mile round trip. How about you?

Iwillorderthefood · 21/05/2014 21:16

It's the logistics of it. Feeding and working around having to be at school punctually. Newborns don't do punctual very well.
