I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

I'm dreading the school run. Fortunately I have fairly early risers so have been working on them being ready 30 mins before we need to leave which in theory will then allow for feeds/nappy changes. But I suspect one or other will purposefully lose shoes or have a tantrum just as I think we're ready...

Iwillorderthefood · 21/05/2014 21:29

Mine aren't ready until it's time to go, am not sure how am going to factor in the baby. I think it's likely I shall feed the baby at breakfast time, and get the girls ready, then the baby. As mine are older hoping that they can sit with her for the three minutes I will need to get myself sorted out. Not sure where a shower is going to feature though.

KillashandraRee · 21/05/2014 21:36

Roseberry I'm on DC2 went overdue with DS by a week. Due today and midwife plus lots of other people said dc2 often early but no signs yet.

Did get excited earlier as some strong BH but haven't progressed into anything.

I don't think my bump can get any bigger it's prickly and sore and the skin feels so hot and stretched....I think I might pop soon!

imisssleepandwine · 21/05/2014 22:00

I'm 26 weeks and really jealous of all you ladies who are only a few weeks or days away from the end. 14 weeks seems like forever and these last 2 days I've been feeling really tired and angry at the world. Constant peeing, restless legs and heartburn are keeping me up at night. Oh the joy of it all!!

PurplePunkPrincess · 21/05/2014 22:57

I have 2 boys 5 and 7, so yr 3 and reception. It's 1.7 miles each way according to google and no short cuts that I've been able to find, took me 45 minutes to walk it last time I had to do it. But is right by town so at least once baby is here after I've walked to school I will be in a handy location. I've only lived in the area for a few months, which is why I googled the walking route to school

Do you know what you are having iwillorder?

I (sadly) just realised how perfect it would be if the baby came around now, just before half term so could spend the first week at home, no school runs or things to remember and MIL only works term time and it means I don't have to be pregnant anymore! Shame it doesn't work like that

PurplePunkPrincess · 21/05/2014 22:58

Also I wouldn't worry too much, I'm sure you will all be up a bit earlier than normal once the new arrival is here! Wink

TheOriginalWinkly · 21/05/2014 22:59

Urgh. My cough from earlier today turning into quite scary shortness of breath, couldn't speak in sentences at all. Went to A&E - chest infection, triggering asthma, not good - and on top of all the other meds I've been given a short dose of steroids which probably won't accelerate baby's growth but almost certainly will make my swelling a hundred times worse! :( Waaah. But, thank goodness for the NHS.

KillashandraRee · 22/05/2014 06:06

Original how scary, hope you're ok.

Astonway · 22/05/2014 08:44

Sigh...it's actually a very very short time! (Well my great great grandmother had 16 healthy, successful pregnancies so it was a few months for her!). Your brain and body are taken up with an amazing task - and are gearing up for phase II of course. Not surprisingly your conscious brain is pissed off that it is being shouldered aside when it is used to doing exactly what it wants! Try telling it to shut up and cooperate in this 'project' which it decided to embrace...
I have a theory that conscious brains that humbly know their place get off far more lightly during labour - those that resent being sidelined and do not cooperate may get hammered with pain that fulfils no other function during labour...
Just a thought - no judgement - it is a choice. Bike

Iwillorderthefood · 22/05/2014 09:51

purplepunkprincess, yes the week before half term would be a great time to give birth. You have the same sorts of age gaps as me.

Your walk to school is much longer than mine, do you have anyone who might be able to help you out once the baby has come?

There are quite a mums at school that have recently had new babies, and they seem to be coping, do I am clinging into that. I suppose when we are in the situation, we have have little choice but to cope.

the originalwinky that sounds scary! I hope that the medication does it's job. I am sure a close eye will be kept on you to make sure the baby is ok.

Astonway 16 pregnancies! That does not bear thinking about, DH asked last night if I wanted a number 4. I have never been so definite about anything in my life. I think you might be onto something with the brain concentrating on doing something amazing and to let it get on with it, I definitely was fighting it the first time, and labour was terrible, second time around I tried not to fight it so much and the result was definitely a better birth, with me feeling less scared of the pain.

Iwillorderthefood · 22/05/2014 10:01

Imiss the time will whizz by. I have to say that sleep has been better this time, for me. I said uphread that I have this great pillow that has helped tremendously.

You can control heartburn by eating little and often, and avoiding the foods that trigger it. I have silent acid reflux and have to avoid: fatty foods, hot spicy foods, citrus, tomatoes, sugar, all caffeine, alcohol (not diff when pg). Also try not eat too late at night, I was told not to eat anything after 7pm and to try not to eat my main meal at night (this part not doable for me). I take Omeprazole, I stopped taking it during the first two trimesters but now it's a must. My only symptoms are a persistent cough, the feeling of something being in my throat, difficulty swallowing and I lose my voices

The good news for you is that once the baby drops, hopefully the heartburn will go too.

qazxc · 22/05/2014 10:21

My feet are sooo swollen and they feel like they are about to explode.
I feel hot and uncomfortable all the time.
I am the size of Luxembourg.

I'm nearly 36 weeks and have 2 weeks left in work (with not very understanding bosses). Come on maternity leave! Come on baby!

I've started on the rasberry tea, eaten an entire pineapple in one sitting and been bouncing on my ball.

qazxc · 22/05/2014 10:23

Yesterday small children were lifting up their t-shirts, laughing and pointing at their flat bellies. Sad

cocodevert · 22/05/2014 10:51

Just wanted to say loads of luck to all you pregnant ladies.

I am reminiscing as a year ago today I was in labour. To anyone suffering - I was 41+5, absolutely enormous to the extent that everyone from passing mums, postmen, local drunks to street cleaners would comment the classic, oh so original, line 'not had it yet then?'. Couldn't sleep, clothes wouldn't fit, thighs chaffing, shocking heartburn, oh I remember the glamour of it all.

She was born a year ago tomorrow, a 10lbs 12oz whopper, but it was all absolutely fine (natural birth, no stitches Shock ), she's asleep upstairs right now. One day you too will look back fondly on this moment as you anticipate a huge, magical and wonderful change to your lives.

KillashandraRee · 22/05/2014 12:27

Just been to see midwife and she can't sweep as head not engaged. 40+1 and I thought I would have my baby by now!!

Yy to eating early and opramezole has saved me from really bad heart burn. I'm still suffering as this baby hasn't dropped at all.

Coco I've just had that experience everywhere I go now people want to comment on my bump and how big it is. An old lady in the shop told me it'll all be over quickly I hope she was having a premonition about my labour Wink

SicknSpan · 22/05/2014 16:54

Astonway I'm sure most of us on this thread understand that logically it is a short amount of time to be pregnant. But we also have strange things called emotions- and those aren't logical.

I'm not sure why there was a sigh at the start of your post- were you never fed up at the end of your pregnancy/ies? Think it's quite understandable that some of us are feeling a bit chuffed off!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/05/2014 17:03

31+1 and just so fecking grumpy every evening! DD (aged 2) won't stop bloody well climbing on me and I can't cope with her squashing my bump. My feet and ankles were swollen yesterday when I got home and bloody DH says he doesn't see it. It's fecking obvious! although I might equally take his head off if he said oh yes, they are quite swollen, aren't they?

Today's mat jeans are digging in under the bump; yesterday's dress was longer at the back than at the front (why? Why? It can't be that hard to design mat clothes, can it?) so that combined with bare legs and swollen ankles really made me feel put together. Yy to chafing thighs, but I read a tip on here - put roll-on deodorant on your thighs where they rub. It works! Have been test-driving it this week after suffering last week and it really does work.

Back ache, SPD - isn't it just so glamorous to have either bum pain or groin pain? It's not as bad as in pg no 2, though - had my hips re-aligned by a physio at 18 weeks and it's been much better since, but I think the baby is now big enough to make my pelvis hurt anyway. My mobility has been so reduced that my bum muscles have atrophied, making walking uphill ridiculously difficult. I'm breathless all the time after the smallest exertion, and far too hot all day at work.

5 weeks left until I start mat leave; 7 weeks roughly until my ELCS. I should get a date on Monday, but the consultant said that she would do it at about 38 weeks, thank god.

Heartburn/acid reflux, oh yes. Saw the MW on Fri and she said then that the baby was oblique with his head upwards, and I have a horrible suspicion that he's gone breech since then because the heartburn has arrived with a vengeance. Last time around the best thing ever was when they give you special tablets before an ELCS to neutralise your stomach acid - it was bliss!

I just feel so squashed all the time, like the baby is stretching as hard as he can go, and I've still got 7 weeks more of this. I can't cope!

PurplePunkPrincess · 22/05/2014 18:03

Iwillorderthefood, my dp does the walk with the kids in 35 minutes, I'm not too concerned about the school run and will have some access to the car a couple of days a week probably. I'm not actually too concerned by the school run, though it seems far. Being pregnant and doing it however scared me and luckily I've avoided that! I don't know how people manage. But I guess we all will in the end!

I figured once the baby is here I will be up much earlier most mornings anyway! Mine get up at 7, make themselves cereal and juice, get dressed and are in front of the tv by half 7. As long as I can sort myself and baby out by 8am then all should be fine. When the boys were little we'd be up and ready for the day by half 8 and usually out the house already and that was only to go to the park or coffee group. Things were generally calmer back then though...!

Barbsta · 22/05/2014 18:12

I can deal with the heartburn or the sickness making another appearance but the lack of sleep because of restless feet and the back pain making it painful to move at all is becoming unbearable. I get all this together at some points and all of it at least everyday :s

RoseberryTopping · 22/05/2014 18:38

Eee we are a right moany bunch aren't we. If you can't have an anonymous moan on the internet then I don't know what you're meant to do! I know it's only a short time, I know I'm blessed to be having a healthy pregnancy, that doesn't mean I don't find it hard sometimes and need a little whinge.

Original that sounds scary, hope you feel better soon Flowers

Thank you coco I reckon we could all do with a slice of cake and cup of tea about now :)

I feel really emotional today, it's been so hard being alone with DS all week, every week. He's a lovely boy but he is soo much work and I just want someone to come and take over bath time sometimes so I can just lay and do nothing. So glad it's a bank holiday this Monday so DP is at home for an extra day! Now really would be the perfect time to go in to labour

TheOriginalWinkly · 22/05/2014 18:45

I am feeling much better in my lungs today, however I have had hideous nerve pain in my left hip and arse - I actually fell over with it, but saved myself on the wardrobe the first time, and DH the second. Apparently this could be another sign baby has dropped a bit. Fingers crossed!

I do know how lucky I am to be pregnant. It took us years to conceive, and my mmc was hellish, and I count my blessings every day. And this may well be my only (successful) pregnancy, I don't think I have the heart to ttc again. None of that in any way stops me feeling boiling, bloated, exhausted and in pain! So hooray for a good old moan once in a while.

KillashandraRee · 22/05/2014 19:11

Oh cheddar I feel for you the last trimester has really dragged for me it's grad with a toddler.

Barbsta lack of sleep is a killer Thanks

Roseberry have some virtual Wine only one more day til the weekend!

I had a show this afternoon so am desperately trying not to get too excited and over google it. Have read that with Second pregnancy shows normally herald labour immediately or within 1-2 days so will keep everything crossed. Smile

PurplePunkPrincess · 22/05/2014 19:15

I think we know who may leave this moaning pregnant thread first then!

I'm so jealous that you've had a show, good luck hope a healthy baby comes soon for you!

RoseberryTopping · 22/05/2014 19:22

Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy

Aww I'm happy for you really, just insanely jealous! Keep us updated will you? I hope it does mean labour is coming soon for you, good luck!
