bushy feel Le I'm getting way ahead of myself telling mums and my bestie - almost arrogant - but it's done now!

FeatherFeather11 · 25/06/2014 09:10

Quick question: did you take your oh to your first midwife appointment? DH wants to come but I don't think he has to?

winohhh · 25/06/2014 09:49

I haven't had my booking in appointment yet feather. I think I've been lost in the system! Going to call later and find out what's happening. I'm assuming I'll go on my own though,.. I'm sure it's fine for him to go if he wants though. Although they may ask him to wait outside when they ask you if he's hitting you (so I hear!).

Bunnygirlie · 25/06/2014 10:18

feather I'm still suffering from the nausea in the morning which is crap but at least it's not all day anymore. It's hard to enjoy it when you feel crap but when you start to tell people you feed off their excitement too, and when the flutters start its amazing Grin

first midwife appt is boring! forms forms forms! The one he'll want is the 16w one where they listen to heartbeat, hubby missed that and was gutted so came to 24/25 week one!

win so thrilled scan went well and you are here Smile

yorkiebilb · 25/06/2014 12:06

Hello all, sorry for being a late joiner to the thread but I was too scared to join until my 20 week scan as have had a few scares along the way. Anyway just had my scan this morning, all is good and I'm expecting a boy!

Congratulations to all the newbies on your BFP's and to those who have had their babies! Fantastic news for you all.

For those that don't know me I was on the berries thread for a while, got pg on our first ivf egg sharing cycle. I'm desperately hoping my recipient got pg too and building up the courage to find out!

MotherOfCleo · 25/06/2014 12:53

Hi yorkie, lovely to hear from you!! Congratulations, so so thrilled for you! Sorry you've had a rocky road so far though. I'm now a mum to a seven and a half month old little boy and it is amazing! He is an incredible cheeky, little minx. Boys are so much fun Grin Grin Grin I'm sure girls are too, but I have no experience of them

CatsCantFlyFast · 25/06/2014 13:07

Yorkie I was just thinking this morning that your scan must be coming up...that's great news! And a rare boy! Are you coming to join us on fb?

Feather bang on about it all that you need to, its what the thread is here for

Win welcome in. So pleased there is a bunch of you all pregnant together, I think it made it easier for us who were a cluster diff too

Re. Your first midwife appointment/booking appointment. Your OH doesn't need to be there, and it is mostly forms. However its lovely if he can/will go with you, and gives him the chance to ask questions too

RevoltingPeasant · 25/06/2014 14:20

Hi all. yorkie congrats! How lovely Grin

I just had my first MW appointment today. Forms-arama! However they were lovely - there was the MW and a student - and very very thorough. Because of my kidney issues I will be under consultant care, which apparently means in practice a 10-minute appt with the consultant after the 20w scan. I really want a home birth but we may have to see about that.

Anyhow feels presumptuous even THINKING about that yet. I just want to make it to the 12w scan and see a heartbeat Confused

jessplussomeonenew · 25/06/2014 16:46

Yorkie, glad your scan was good news - hope the second half is much less stressful!

Feather, most of the booking appt is pretty boring but they do ask about the father's close family's medical history so it is useful to either have him there or ask beforehand - can't remember the full list of problems but think it includes things like high blood pressure, diabetes, hip problems, heart problems and anything related to pregnancy e.g. history of twins.

FeatherFeather11 · 25/06/2014 18:25

Yay! yorkie you're 20 weeks! Have you told work yet?

Thanks for the advice re midwife meeting. Think I'll let oh come as he's got his heart set on it.

rp great to hear your first appointment went well and that you'll be well looked after. Does it feel a bit more real now? And can you ask for an early scan instead of waiting till 12 weeks?

RevoltingPeasant · 25/06/2014 19:59

Hi Feather. No I can't as I cleverly planned to be away for work during weeks 10 and 11 of the pg. I am quietly freaking about that - what if something happens? Eurgh! But I will not be around for scans and bloods till 12+0.

FeatherFeather11 · 25/06/2014 22:22

It'll be fine rp - you just have to trust that it will be. Easier said than done, I know.

yorkiebilb · 25/06/2014 22:33

Thanks all and congrats again to the new BFP's - v excited for you all! If I help or offer advice in any way let me know as I've probably worried about every possible thing over the past 20 weeks!

Yes told some people at work today - my friend got all excited and gathered 6 people round my desk. I went bright red and burst into tears! V embarrassing! Just felt v overwhelmed as had only told a couple of people up until today.

BlindKitty · 26/06/2014 04:13

yorkie massive congrats! Can't believe you've kept it under wraps for 4 months! You must be so good at keeping secrets! I blurted it out way at 8 weeks at a party! because I couldn't stand someone else getting the limelight who was announcing her instadiffer pregnancy of #dc2

Bunnygirlie · 26/06/2014 12:00

Crikey yorkie you must have a small bump! mine was kind of obvious at 13weeks when I told work, couldn't fit into my work trousers anymore either!

How are the newbies doing? So are you all between 6-10 weeks now?

FeatherFeather11 · 26/06/2014 12:02

Hi bunny! I'm 8 weeks tomorrow.

RevoltingPeasant · 26/06/2014 19:22

I'm 8+3 today.

Also v v fat all of a sudden. Have had to sit down with my jeans unbuttoned due to enormous tummy Confused although I have actually lost weight so far due to all the vomming.

PuppyMummy · 26/06/2014 19:39

how lovely to see the thread alive again with a new load of berries!

puplet is 3 weeks old today! Shock Grin

he is ace! I need to get braver and feed in public cos I keep avoiding it!

FeatherFeather11 · 26/06/2014 20:03

rp hearing you on the fat front. By the end of the day I need to undo my jeans the second I get home. Been nauseous today but not been actually sick yet. Seems I can only stomach carbs face palm

Congrats puppy! How lovely. Be brave and break out the boobage!

RevoltingPeasant · 26/06/2014 23:32

Yes also - beige food all the way!

#lardarse

winohhh · 27/06/2014 08:20

I agree on the carb front! I've eaten mashed potato everyday this week! Like you feather I'm feeling nauseas a lot, but haven't actually been sick yet. 9w4d today. I have another scan at 11w as part of the harmony package. Feeling nervous already!

Hmm so today I am on annual leave and ended up going into town and wandering around Mothercare pricing up cots and looking at the cute outfits Blush

This is starting to feel more real and I'm terrified that something will go wrong because I'd be just heartbroken.

CatsCantFlyFast · 27/06/2014 14:34

Win are you going to find out the gender with your harmony?
