sorry to hear about the inconclusive scan seasides 5 weeks does feel very early to see much at all, fingers crossed that HCG continue to rise. Thanks

kcmp14 · 17/04/2014 08:39

Seaside, I had a scan at 4+2 and they didnt see anything which they said was normal. I had hcg bloods done and they were 1350 which they told me was not right or wrong because the first bloods are just a bench mark. How come you have to wait a week for 2nd bloods? It should be 48hrs after and they should rise by 60%. It is such a nerve rackin time, I do understand. I had mmc oct last year and im so paranoid this time.

I'm keeps my fingers crossed for you, I would check if you can go back in 48 hours they told me it had to be.
X

Debbylou · 17/04/2014 12:54

Had my scan today and as I suspected it was a complete miscarriage so I'm going step out of this thread and get my head together , they want to start testing now as its my 3rd loss and I'm not sure weather to go ahead or not at this point , I wish you all the very best of luck with your pregnancies and hope to be back again soon take care ladies and thank you for your support xx

JBrd · 17/04/2014 13:15

Debby So sorry for your sad news, this is so unfair. Hope you might get some answers from the testing, it's good that they are going to look into this.
Take your time, there is no need to decide anything right now, one step at a time.

seaside Like the others have said, don't give up hope just yet, you still have everything going for you at this point! Try and keep busy...

No test results for me yet Easter Angry And apparently, a likely reason for the delay is that it hasn't worked... So the lady at the FMC told me. She will call me again this evening for a further update.
I'm starting to lose hope that this will work out. Looks as if I need to seriously consider CVS or amnio as the next step Easter Sad

squizita · 17/04/2014 13:29

Debby so sorry for your loss. There's a great RMC support thread on the miscarriage board if you want advice about next steps after 3.

Jbird Angry Angry Angry on your behalf. Seriously hope it's worked and you get your info SOON!!

HopefulHamster · 17/04/2014 13:57

(((Debby))) Sorry to hear that, it's so so unfair.

JBrd Oh I'd be fuming if I were you. They took bloods quite early didn't they? I wonder if they should do it later when there is more fetal blood around. I'd be tempted to have CVS or amnio if I were you, but then there's the risks and argh! Will they give you one of those for free now?

I wore my maternity jeans for the first time today - I'd had enough of my non-mat dresses and tunics that still fit, I just wanted some decent trousers on. I thought I didn't have a bump at all, but I think that's partly due to what I was wearing. You can definitely tell I'm bigger than normal in the jeans and baggy top. Have told a few more people at work but still not doing a facebook announcement or anything big until I get to 20 weeks and have a better idea of whether everything's okay.

15 weeks now and still nervous it's all going to go wrong, but at least I have a midwife appt next week where she might listen to the heartbeat if I'm lucky. Ack!

Hope everyone has a good Easter break x

squizita · 17/04/2014 14:05

Hopeful I tried to buy some work trousers yesterday. Plenty on display but none on the racks. Grrr. Primark, as expected, the worst culprit. Dummies with dresses which had entirely sold out.

Considering 2nd hand off the Ebay. If all goes well I'll be enormo over the summer hols so it will be sacks baggy t-shirts and leggings all the way. So the trews only have to last a few months.

JBrd · 17/04/2014 14:28

Squiz Try Next, they have decent work maternity clothes, and I've also found some stuff at New Line last time (although that can be a hit and miss sometimes). Or if you feel like splurging out, JojoMamanBebe and Boden.
If all fails, Asos is your friend Easter Grin

Finding decent mat wear that doesn't cost the earth is a nightmare!

Hopeful This was my second try... Well, on the bright side, if it fails again, I should be able to get the CVS/amnio at the FMC for free Easter Confused

HopefulHamster · 17/04/2014 16:03

I've got really annoyed with mat wear in shops - most don't have it in stock but tell you to use the website. Went shopping one day to a place with a Matalan, Next, H&M, Tesco, something else I can't remember - anyway none of it had maternity wear except a big New Look.

I'm petite so finding trousers is a pain as I hate taking them up. So I've resorted to eBay. Previously when I had access to a Mamas and Papas shop I actually found the clothes good, just expensive unless on sale. I think some Mothercare stuff is okay but actually not worth the regular price in store (so again I use eBay).

NerdyBird · 17/04/2014 17:11

Bigger New Look stores often have them. H&M fooled me entirely by having the maternity wear in the kids shop. Very odd. But they had a decent range in stock.
I also bought a few things on asos as friends got me a voucher.

CorporeSarnie · 17/04/2014 17:15

Oh JBrd, I've skimmed but I am so Easter Angry on your behalf. All this waiting. You poor thing. Will they expedite your CVS if the Harmony hasn't worked this time?

Thanks for Debby, so, so sorry to hear your news. Give yourself some time before making any decisions, you've been through so much.

amicablemoomin · 17/04/2014 18:21

so sorry to hear your news Debby Thanks

JBrd · 17/04/2014 18:22

Well, just had another call from the FMC - the test has failed again. I'm now provisionally booked in for a CVS next Wednesday.

The ironic thing is that I had an appointment with the consultant at the hospital today. Now I am very grateful for the care and attention I am getting, but this appointment was actually a bit useless, IMO, as the consultant really just talked about birth options. Nothing was decided, but if I want to have an ELCS, I can. No idea why they were doing this so soon - I'm 15 weeks, and they will see me again to discuss this - again.
But I just couldn't get my head around thinking about birth, FFS, I now need to figure out what is going to happen with this pregnancy in the first place.

I just don't know what to think right now. At the moment, I'm not even sure if I want to go to London for the CVS - yes, the FMC is supposedly the best, but I have had and am getting excellent care at my hospital here... Argh, I am completely confused now!
I think I need to sleep on all this, it's just too much at the moment.

Penguinita · 17/04/2014 18:40

Oh jbrd that is just pants. Sad. You are right to take some time to think about things properly and get your head together.

For those looking for maternity trousers I recommend red herring from debenhams over bump style jeans and trousers. Slightly more expensive than next but not as much as jojomamnbebe, really comfy and great fit.

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 17/04/2014 18:46

So sorry for your loss Debby, best of luck in the future, and if you ttc again, really hope they can work out why it keeps happening to you. x

JBrd, argh! Hope the long weekend gives you the time you need to think it all over.

squiz, if you're a short arsed/petite size 8 I've got a pair of Next work trousers that came in an ebay bundle I can pass on, great condition as, as a SAHM I don't actually work Grin And a pair of skinny jeans (my calves weren't made for skinny jeans)!

LondonJen · 17/04/2014 20:13

So sorry Debbie, I hope you have lots of RL support. Look after yourself x

LondonJen · 17/04/2014 20:21

Oh Jbrd what a day you've had after all that waiting. Yes, good plan, no need to decide this evening.

I had an email from asos saying 20% off their own brand stuff this weekend and started to think I might get a few bits that I was planning to buy next month anyway, but actually there weren't as many maternity bits on offer as I hoped. Still, have ordered a top and pair of lounging-about-pants! Might be worth a look ladies.

Hope the mw will have a listen for the heartbeat next week Hopeful. My 16 week appt is not till a week after at 17. Boo!

Seasides · 17/04/2014 21:00

Just wanted to say debby, I am so so sorry, that's awful Thanks. I very much hope you get your answers and are back here soon, with a lovely, boring pregnancy.

And jbrd, how incredibly frustrating for you. Hope you get some reassurance soon, I'm sure you will be absolutely fine but it's so wearing to wait and wait.

Again, thanks so much everyone, you're such a lovely bunch. xx

Alb1 · 18/04/2014 00:41

debby so sorry to hear ur news, hope ur getting lots of RL support and care.

I agree with the maternity wear hell, been round all the shops I can think of in my local town and city and managed to get one pair of jeans and that's it! I hate buying clothes on the internet (I like to try stuff on) but I'm gona have to by the look of it!

Iv started getting what I think are Braxton hicks tonight at work when I was really busy (we don't get to sit down at work) I'm assuming it's normal to start getting them around now (20+5) and they don't hurt, does it mean I need to take it easy when they start or should I just carry on as normal?

fedupofrainydays · 18/04/2014 06:28

debby I'm so sorry :( it's so unfair. I hope that you are treated well and the tests and treatments can help you. The RMC board is a good one too as squiz suggested. Take care of yourself xx

Yeah alb bh can start around 20 weeks. Although I hope you dot then get them for another 20!! Mine were quite painful but not until I was over 30 weeks. I used to get them on train home from work - always at the same time. Weird.

Having a wobble as not feeling very preg. Managed to work a long day yesterday (5.30am to 10 pm) and I coped. Phoned mw at one point as I had a load of dancing black dots in front of my eyes at one point - she thought as I don't have BP issues it should be ok and prob just moved too quickly. Was a bit scary tho. I'm only 15 weeks. 6 weeks today til my anomaly scan. Feels like ages away :(

bakingtins · 18/04/2014 06:38

debby have replied to your post on the RMC thread, but wanted to say on here how sorry I am it hasn't worked out.

fedup you need to look after yourself, lovely. How can that shift be reasonable?? I'm not surprised you struggled. Has your work completed a pregnancy risk assessment? I'd be extremely surprised if it didn't state a maximum shift length. If you are having symptoms related to your work pattern you need to get it reassessed.

bakingtins · 18/04/2014 06:40

jbrd I'm so frustrated on your behalf! It also seems v insensitive to be discussing birth plans when you still don't have the results. Good luck for whatever you decide to do next week, I hope they can expedite results for you.

squizita · 18/04/2014 10:49

Thanks DrFunkes ... sadly I am no longer size 8 on the bottom even at the best of times! Grin I have an annoying figure with a size 8 waist, size 10-12 hips. Thank goodness for boobs or I'd look like a weeble! Grin Well I'm getting that way anyway haha

squizita · 18/04/2014 10:56

JBird How frustrating. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

Fedup Don't worry, I felt distinctly un-pregnant at 15 weeks, symptoms had faded and was just a mere bit tubby. Now showing more and feeling flutters and pops, and had a scan at 17 weeks. The black dots might have been blood pressure after that awful shift!! Yuk! Can you speak with your manager about it?

RedandChecker · 18/04/2014 11:27

Thought I Joined the thread but not on thread I'm on so joining again if I can Grin

After 3 MMcs I had scan at thirteen weeks yesterday all looks fine so far. Cried lots after, DP didn't get it. I didn't feel happy or sad just shocked, I really didn't think this would ever be ok and now I'm thinking I may actually be having a baby! It was very hard going into the scan room because as soon as I went in a noticed a big screen above the bed which showed you the baby as soon as the sonographer saw the baby, that made me feel very scared as I didn't want me DP and DS to see if there was no heartbeat. Luckily there was, my heart is racing today very odd how I feel!
