Hello Sunny I hope you have a very boring uneventful pregnancy.

Ihaveto Yes, I promise it will get a bit easier. That's a big milsetone for you, I hope you are feeling better as the day goes by.

I like your style Moomin! Glad you are finding it helpful too. Sorry about those dreams though -eek! Least there's nothing in them Smile

Good luck tomorrow Cuppa

Amum that is terrible on both fronts but I am stunned that someone would just walk out. Some of the things I read on here are really shocking to me Sad

Chucking fishfingers at you Mabel!! If it helps, mine has been smaller than usual yesterday and the day before but on both those days I've felt kicks (well, prods, felt like I was being prodded from the inside, I still think it's feet must be small so maybe it's headbutting me?!)

Squiz I feel like you only attract the weirdos for comments!! Why do they say these things?!

Very frustrating Penguin, hope you get better answers soon.

Hurray Fedup that is good news Smile

Welcome to all the newbies to the thread. Can't believe it's got so busy when I've got half a day offline!

fedup that's really great news. Definitely worth the £60 isn't it?

To all those in their first trimester. It's definitely the hardest for me. I think it's because most MCs happen in the first trimester. My first scan was the 12 weeks one and it's such a long time to wait. After that, I heard a heartbeat at 16 weeks, and then another scan at 20 weeks. So only 4 weeks in between each. Hang in there, and hopefully the bean will stick for you too.

Cuppachaplz wow I'm impressed with no bump till 30 weeks! My bump was quite small last time and I'm fairly sure I went into maternity clothes around 16-20 weeks. This time I'm definitely bigger. Things really stopped fitting by 12 weeks, and I was in full maternity stuff by 16 weeks. Now even my really big joggers felt really tight, and I worn them to my birth last time Hmm But yes, small bump is not something to worry about at all!

I had my 20 week scan today. It all went well and I was dreading the scan will show something horrendously wrong. But everything is where it should be, and I'll be another a baby girl. Very excited about this. Afterwards I went for the consultant appointment. I asked the consultant about when to panic when I don't feel baby movement. She said, at 20 weeks, it's perfectly normal not to feel it yet. By 23-24 weeks I should definitely feel something there might not be a pattern and it might not be daily. By 28 weeks, it will be daily. I can't remember who's worrying about lack of movement. Hopefully this will help put your worries aside for a bit.

I also have an anterior placenta so am not expecting to feel all the movements this time - although have definately had some already - quite a lot!

So... Catching up.
Good luck at EPU tomorrow cuppa really hope it's all ok.
Welcome to new ladies in the first tri. penguin I remember you from ttc thread - welcome!!
The first trimester is the hardest I think too. Although I'm having wobble after wobble now, I was a mess in the first few weeks and each day felt like an eternity. For me, early scans helped - at least to locate and check viability of pregnancies. Not least because I had a suspected ectopic and a mmc at 12 wks when baby died around 5/6 weeks. But yes, it still makes you worry even after successful scans at 8 and 12 weeks - could I be that 2%? I still think that now. I don't think you can turn that off, you just have to think - yes things can go wrong, but it's really small chance it will. I'm crap at taking my own advice though, as have been very anxious this pregnancy.

Lots of hand holding goes on here though - the ladies are a great support and I've really valued that in my pregnancy so far. Xx

aMuminwaiting · 08/05/2014 08:39

SO much of what you all say rings true to me. The nightmares, the not believing I'm even pregnant some days, not allowing myself to be excited about anything because it feels like fate is watching and will take it all away again. My stomach is permanently swollen and my jeans are a struggle to get on but I got rid of my maternity stuff when I moved here in a fit of "it's never going to happen" and it feels way to early to get anything new. I know me though and if it goes well I'd probably be at 30+ weeks saying "no, I'll wait a bit longer". We all have so many bad memories that haunt us. We know what it's like to go for a scan with a smile on our face and leave in buckets of tears, we know what it's like to go the loo and wipe and see the horror of horrors bright red blood, we know how it feels to have so much hope and expectancy and have it taken away that it's no wonder every day is petrifying and feels like a year. I watched the ducklings running around the other day and thought I wish it could be that quick an incubation for human babies, I'd have far more chance that way!

amicablemoomin · 08/05/2014 08:56

that just sums it all up perfectly amum.

Glad all went well with the scan one - that's a big milestone.

I got my booking and 12 week scan info through yesterday - excited to have something to work towards but also feels a bit like tempting fate (not sure why). Have decided I'm going to have a private scan the week before the booking appointment. At least I will know everything was Ok the week before (note the positive assumption!!!!!)

Penguinita · 08/05/2014 09:18

Blimey, suddenly I'm only 7 from the top of the stats list! I remember when I was three from the bottom, hope that gives some encouragement to all of you first trimester ladies, you will get there eventually Flowers

You are right baking, the inefficiency of the nhs system is very frustrating. It could all have been done at one appointment but instead I have had three, and they are always running at least an hour late. Feels like I'm spending most of my mat leave in a hospital waiting room. DH has a theory that it is all to get more car parking charges Hmm

TeaRex · 08/05/2014 09:18

Wow! Lots of chat! This thread moves fast :)

fedup & one glad your scans went well :)
cuppa hope it all goes well for you today at epu
sunny hello to you, lots of us with December/January due dates which is nice :)
pengunita sorry your appointment was a waste of time :( hope that labour stays well away and Friday comes round quick for you
And amum thanks but there's no babybond near me, there is a doctors in my town that does private scans though so will book that if needed

Afm, nothing going on just waiting.... I know it's wrong to wish time away but I would just love to wake up tomorrow and it's January (could do with the long sleep as well :) )

Penguin13 · 08/05/2014 09:24

Good luck with the scan today Cuppa

Great news that you got some reassurance from your scan fedup. Sometimes you just need to know.

How frustrating about your appointments Penguinita especially having to wait around each time. It's not like any of us could so with the extra anxiety of having to hang around in a waiting room.

What wonderful news about your positive scan One. That is an important step in your journey to have reached Smile. It must be a wonderful feeling.

IhavetowaitHOWlong · 08/05/2014 09:35

Thanks for the handholding yesterday. It was such a long day, but I got through it, and feel utterly lousy this morning after waking up four times last night - hooray, things are back to normal! Comes to something when you can't enjoy a good night's sleep!

I need a fish slap though. When the doom got a bit much yesterday afternoon I couldn't resist and did the other digital test from the pack that have me my BFP last week. (Yes yes I know, but the number had gone up and it calmed me down significantly. I will step away from the tests now)

Congratulations on your scans one and fedup that's wonderful news. And good luck with yours today Cuppa

Lol Ihave I've got no tests in the house but I'm so tempted to get another digital just to see the 3+ week so I understand how you felt :) glad seeing the bigger number reassured you

NerdyBird · 08/05/2014 10:25

Some of the baby things I ordered arrived this week. We unpacked them yesterday, so there is half a pram, a car seat, crib and bottle set stacked in my living room. It's quite scary really. I really haven't got my head around the fact that this baby could actually happen.

I think I need to write a big listy list of things I need to buy and do in a vain attempt to feel organised!

Penguin13 · 08/05/2014 12:10

Tea and Ihave I'm not going to tell you just how many tests I did in the weeks following my BFP because a) am a little ashamed to admit just how many Blush and b)I wouldn't to give you an excuse to pee on any more! Tea you may in fact recall my mini-meltdown when I perceived the line to be fainter than previously....suffice it to say that you can file this under 'do as I say, not as I do' and step away from the sticks!!

Alb1 · 08/05/2014 12:36

This thread is moving so fast now! Glad to see everyone's more or less ok tho! Lovely to see there's some good scan news, hope everything's gone ok for you at epu cuppa

I'm only 15 on the stats list now, I realise that's still loads but I can't believe iv progressed this far so it's nice to see!

To those in the early days I did a crazy amount of tests in the first few weeks to watch for lines going darker etc and obsessed loads that they seemed to remain the same, but I got advised on here to step away from the tests and it was the best advice iv ever followed on here! although I did still do a digi to get the 3+ result before I stopped it really helped my sanity to step away from the tests, my DP still jokes now about how much I love peeing on sticks Blush

IhavetowaitHOWlong · 08/05/2014 12:54

Glad to see I'm not the only one with a stick peeing obsession, but I really am going to try to rein it in now. Did 4 line tests over the course of last week, the first two being so feint I had to hold them up to the light and squint to see them. Had a reassuring obviously darker one by the end of the week though.

Now I've done the two digi ones a week apart and seen the number increase I think I'm satisfied and can step away...

Until my next wobble anyway Blush I am still 2-3 weeks away from a reassurance scan so I can't promise I won't relapse!

LondonJen · 08/05/2014 13:46

Congrats on a good scan One how lovely to know it's a girl!

Good news you've got those dates Moomin, I found it easier once I had that firm scan date.

It's so nice to hear everyone is finding support here Smile

No pg news here but I have just met with the world's prettiest dog sitter, and watched dp go a bit gooey in her presence. Trying to keep my jealous hormones in check now!

Cuppachaplz · 08/05/2014 17:35

Hi all,
just to update everyone with news from today's scan.
The scan showed a uterine pregnancy, which is about where the good news ends.
The pregnancy measures 5 1/1 to 6 weeks. They could see a polar yolk sac, but no baby. I last bled at the start of march, although I don't bleed regularly at all since botched c-section with DS.
I realise that this could mean that my dates are wrong, however my last 4 MCs have been MMCs which started in this manner; small non-viable pregnancies progressing to bleeding and complete MC at 12-14 weeks, so its quite difficult for me to remain positive.
Also I started 'feeling' pregnant about 3 weeks ago, and had a positive test 2 1/2 weeks ago. When I told DH, he had already guessed. Is this possible if scan is correct??? Doesn't seem likely to me.
However, I have to go back in 2 weeks for a repeat scan, so not all doom and gloom just yet. If these dates are right, this would put me right at the end of December, but not brave enough to add myself to the stats yet...
The Dr. I saw was astonished that I still haven't been seen at the RMC clinic, given that she has personally scanned 6 of my MCs over the last 16 months. She prescribed me some progesterone pessaries in the hope that they might help to make things stick, assuming that my dates are wrong. Does anyone have any experience of them??? Any advice very welcome please.
I'm probably being an utter bitch here, but feel like thumping DH with his incessant cheerfulness ("Don't give up"/"It's not all hopeless"/"I don't see any reason in thinking it's over until they say so"/etc). I understand the sentiment, but saying it once is enough, as it only makes me feel more of a failure when the inevitable happens.
Hugs to all, hope you're all having a better day that me

bakingtins · 08/05/2014 17:50

Cuppa I'm sorry your scan was not more positive. My MC have followed the same pattern so I totally get why you are feeling doom and gloom about it. I've had the progesterone pessaries in this pregnancy and in my last (unsuccessful) one, if I'm honest I think it was the steroids that made a difference for me, but progesterone has been proven to improve outcomes in IVF pregnancies and there's a big trial at the moment to investigate whether it is helpful in RMC. Can't hurt anyway. My DH has the same attitude as yours, whereas I deal with it by being gloomy so I'm less disappointed if it goes wrong. Allow us to cross everything on your behalf for the next couple of weeks, and you deal with it however is best for you. Flowers

OneLittleToddleTerror · 08/05/2014 18:28

cuppa I'm sorry the scan didn't give you any good news at all. And the doctor is right about the RMC referral. I'm also surprised you haven't been referred yet, given you've already had 6 MCs. Have you been to the GP and pester for a referral? Maybe they can check out what's wrong?

LondonJen · 08/05/2014 18:31

Hey Cuppa sorry to hear you're going to be in a state of limbo for a while yet. It must be really hard to go through again . Your DH might be trying to be strong for you, though I totally feel your reaction to his words, I would be the same. I hope it will comfort you to know we will all be hoping for you and as baking says will keep everything crossed x

IhavetowaitHOWlong · 08/05/2014 18:44

Oh Cuppa so sorry you have been left with such uncertainty, it must be awful and I totally understand you not appreciating your husband's positivity. Just keep telling yourself he means well!

If it's any comfort, and to answer your question, I last miscarried five weeks ago today so I can't be any further along than that. I got a bfp ten days ago and had felt pregnant for several days before that, so it is possible.

Take care of yourself. Thinking of you Thanks

Penguin13 · 08/05/2014 19:17

Cuppa I'm so sorry you didn't get more positive news from your scan and have been left in limbo. I will be keeping everything crossed for you. Completely understand your reaction to your husbands relentless positivity, it definitely doesn't make you a horrible person. I'll be thinking of and hoping for you x
