Thanks for your welcomes everyone.

And jbrd, can I just say I am so, so sorry for your loss. There really are no words. I hope that you have lots of support in real life, and be as kind to yourself as you can. You are in my thoughts.

DitzyDonkey · 01/05/2014 10:17

Thanks again for the welcomes! So I have two more bfp's under my belt....I need to reign in the stick pissing or I will be broke on first responses. Just as I'm sitting here (skiving) typing I'm after getting a slight metallic taste in my mouth and had a little bit of nausea last night....though all of that could be my imagination!

I rang my gp to get a prescription for the progesterone supplements, he is to ring me back though he may refuse to give it to me, he is weird like that. It was the epu that advised it.

Best of luck to those having scans today! pgchimp I would love to be as far along as you, you must be getting very excited!

fedupofrainydays · 01/05/2014 10:41

otters!! Hi - great to see you come over from the ttc thread!!

Just popping by as having a manic few days that have involved some hideous working hours. Thank god it's my 'Friday' today. Catch up later!!

OneLittleToddleTerror · 01/05/2014 10:42

penguins is this your first?

I echo what bakingtins says. I was referred to a growh scan too late last pregnancy with DD. She was measuring small and was born just over 2.5kg. My brother and I were both 6lbs babies. There is no way I would carry a 8lber given how small I am and the family history.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 01/05/2014 10:43

Google says DD was born 5.55lb. Not sure how to do ounces :)

LondonJen · 01/05/2014 10:57

Hello to all the newbies! Welcome, the first weeks are tough but you will get through it. Wishing you all plain old boring pregnancies and sticky beans.

I did have symptoms at 10dpo (my test was positive 11dpo) but I think I am some kind of super sensitive hormone freak as it certainly doesn't seem to be the norm from what I have read on mn threads.

Mabel, Mabel, Mabel, it is SO normal to feel formal again now. And before long you will be like me with a lovely ache in your undercarriage making you wonder why you couldn't enjoy having no symptoms as this new one is no fun at all! I know it's hard but I hope you are feeling better for posting.

Penguin I think the others have said it all. I am not even far along enough to know about centiles and averages but I do think well not everyone can be in the middle of things can they? Sure they're just doing the scan do be on the safe side.

amicablemoomin · 01/05/2014 11:03

hi everyone!!!!!! Just back from the EPU and on a high - 6 + 3 confirmed by the scan, it's in the right place and we saw a dinky winky flash that we are confidently informed is the HB!!! The relief and happiness right now.... Tomorrow of course we will be back the usual worry level I'm sure. My tummy pain has been like bad period pain for the last few days so I was so anxious before the scan.

Mabel so sorry to hear that The Doom has landed, I hope it departs soon. I know you said to me earlier that your symptoms had come and gone throughout your first trimester, and I know a lot of people say they feel much more 'normal' second trimester.

Dr, hope your scan has gone well.

bakingtins · 01/05/2014 11:10

Great news moomin

penguin My boys were 7lb7oz and 6lb7oz so both on the smaller side but perfectly respectable, and after growth scan this one is predicted to be 6.5-7lb at 40 weeks, despite measuring 2 weeks behind.

Alb1 · 01/05/2014 11:12

Hello, sorry for the absence, been very busy, jus popping by to say welcome to the new people, ur in the right place here! And great news on the scan amicable Smile

Not sure if your still around jbrd but just wanted to say I'm thinking of you today Thanks

Hope everyone else is ok, sorry I havnt had chance to catch up! Also mabel that sounds perfectly normal at your stage so try not to worry, easier said than done I no!

squizita · 01/05/2014 11:30

Donkey "I rang my gp to get a prescription for the progesterone supplements, he is to ring me back though he may refuse to give it to me, he is weird like that. It was the epu that advised it." Shock
If your GP does this kind of thing you really, really need to complain. Make this clear to him. EPU Drs are specialist gynecologists: he is a GP, a non specialist. Overriding their advice is essentially malpractice. Imagine if someone's hematologist or oncologist was ignored!

OttersPocket · 01/05/2014 11:45

Ditzy I've spent around £80 on tests this week BlushBlush. I am now stepping away from them as it's seriously not healthy.

I don't have any strong symptoms - just AFish type cramps and slightly tender boobs. And tiredness, but that could just be work stress.

Hooray for your scan results amicable! I wonder if any of the worry ever goes away....

I'm in early scan organising hell at the moment. I keep getting given random phone numbers to call to arrange/confirm etc and I'm not sure anyone quite knows what to do with me Hmm. I'm geeting passed from pillar to post. And to top things off I have a long-term chronic health condition which makes pregnancy extra stressful. Why oh why can't they make this easier?

Davmallem2013 · 01/05/2014 12:01

jbrd if your still reading my thoughts & best wishes are with you today for this awful time. I hope your hospital etc are able to give you & your family the support you need & deserve Sad Thanks

LondonJen · 01/05/2014 12:13

Dr (Really want to call you Dr Boba!) meant to say congrats on getting so far along Smile sorry I missed that off earlier. Good luck with the scan.

Great news Moomin, yes do enjoy a full day of scan high cloud nine loveliness!

Those who are early and feeling af type cramps I think that is really normal. I say that because I didn't get that and everyone else seemed to be! My pains were, and still are, much more 'stabby' in nature but again I seemed to be the odd one out with that. Hope that helps.

DitzyDonkey · 01/05/2014 12:14

squiza I actually asked the secretary to look up the letter that the epu sent him and it is stated in it so at least I have that info to arm myself with. The last time I was pg I asked him about progesterone supplements and he told me there is no such thing Hmm

Otters I'm also getting some AF ish type cramps and I'm also tired and ravenous. But unless I'm projectile vomiting I won't be happy Wink how many dpo are you now?

moomin how exciting, I'm so happy for you, it must be a huge relief!

LondonJen · 01/05/2014 12:28

Ditzy I am just STUNNED about your Dr. That makes me so cross. What a wanker!!! The man is danergous. Please please report him. And change Drs. I don't know much about progesterone supplements, just what I have picked up on here, but I know they can help support the lining which is NEEDED. Want to scream on your behalf. This is disgusting and outrageous.

amicablemoomin · 01/05/2014 12:40

ditzy I'm so glad you mentioned hunger, I'm constantly STARVING. I just ate a large pizza in one sitting. For starters.

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 01/05/2014 12:45

My blobby bit has a heartbeat, measuring 7+2!

Congrats on the good scan moomin!

Ditzy your gp sounds awful!

amicablemoomin · 01/05/2014 13:01

fantastic news dr!!! Smile

OttersPocket · 01/05/2014 13:26

Yay dr! Wonderful news Smile

Ditzy I'm only 15dpo today. I know exactly what you mean though - I really want the ms to kick in Wink

Trying to stay happy and positive, just want my bloody NHS scan date confirmed before I start bankrupting myself booking private ones...

QuietTiger · 01/05/2014 14:22

I couldn't handle it... I've booked a private scan for 10 days time (should be 7+4 then). I'm struggling with every twinge and (TMI) obsessively wiping and checking for blood...

Am also seriously debating contacting a friend of mine who is the consultant in charge of the EPU at our local hospital and asking if she can fit me in for a reassurance scan... She did say after the last MC that if there was anything she could do she'd try and help, but it seems so "pushy" and paranoid to ask. Thoughts? Am I being pushy to contact her and ask?

amicablemoomin · 01/05/2014 14:49

not at all, definitely ask tiger , she can but say she can't do it, which leaves you no worse off, and if she can you get a reassurance scan.

LondonJen · 01/05/2014 15:06

Wonderful blobby bit news Dr! Was just swinging by to see if you'd posted.

Tiger totally agree with Moomin.

redandchecker · 01/05/2014 15:52

It's so difficult to keep up with this thread Grin
Congrats on all new BFPs and happy scan news.

tiger I would definitely ask. Don't ask don't get!
It's not pushy at all.

I am 15 weeks today and I'm starting to feel a lot
More positive and relaxed compared to the first trimester.
Dare I say a excited?

I bought a Doppler which by the way I would not recommend if you were an obsessive stick pisser like I was this is also I bit of an unhealthy obsession Blush

DP agreed to a private scan to get a DVD of this pregnancy as if all goes well we shan't be having another and a good keepsake. Meaning I may possibly find out whether I should expect a boy or girl in just 11 days!? It all seems so surreal.

DitzyDonkey · 01/05/2014 16:22

quietTiger I'm constantly knicker checking also, it is so stressful! I think you should definitely get in contact with your friend and ask for a scan!

Well my gp got back to me and despite him having a letter from the epu outlining what medication I was to receive has REFUSED point blank to prescribe me the progesterone supplements, he said he couldn't give me something that may harm the baby, there may be no bloody baby though ifi don't get the meds Angry

So I rang the epu and they were sooooo nice and helpful and I'm just waiting for a call back in the next hour.

Dr that is brilliant news, such a precious thing to see you little ones heartbeat....had it much of a "baby" shape yet or is it still a cute little blob at this stage?

Seasides · 01/05/2014 16:31

Report that doctor ditzy, he has no idea what he's doing! How dare he override the epu's recommendations?! Furious for you.

Congrats on happy scans everyone! And tiger, I'd totally take her up on that offer.
