otters congratulations on the BFP :-) your in the right place for hand holding and support here!! Xx

LondonJen · 30/04/2014 11:02

Hello my little doom bunnies! Goodness, it's clear what this thread is for and I hope everyone is feeling better for sharing.

Moomin my mmc was at 10 weeks. I didn't want to share with anyone but dp at first. At 8 weeks I told 2 friends who knew about mmc as it was getting hard coming up to that 10week time. Didn't tell family till after 12 week scan. Then some other friends at 16 weeks.

Fedup good grief, all staff email, eek! Least he was understanding up to that point.

Toddle that sounds hard I'm sorry things are so full on at the moment.

Otters congratulations! As you can see from this page, if you are terrified you will fit right in! My mmc was October and the first few weeks of a new pregnancy are so hard after that but you have to have faith and keep busy and come on here to release all your worries x

I heard Bert's heartbeat this morning! Midwife found it instantly. It was fab. Only downside of appointment the bloods from my booking in 'clotted' so they couldn't use them (I decided this means someone in the lab messed them up actually) so I had to have them retaken.

Am 17 weeks today. The sun is shining. It's 3 weeks to my 20 week scan. Feeling uncomfortable (hurty downstairs area today) but very happy right now.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 30/04/2014 11:30

otters good luck with your name job. I fell pregnant less than a month after I started. It is nerve wrecking.

amicablemoomin · 30/04/2014 12:41

thanks for info re: pilates one -that's really good to know! London - loved your post, it was great to hear someone is doing well in the pile of Doom we've built for ourselves.

Saw doc today; he's sending me for a scan tomorrow hopefully if they can fit me in. I'll be 6 + 3 but he was determined to have me down as 8 weeks despite the fact that it would be a physical impossibility as dh was working away Hmm

Thanks to you all for the hand holding during the worst of the doom, I'm hoping it will lift post scan.

Seasides · 30/04/2014 13:19

Yay otters, so pleased to see you! Nothing like setting life up for bfns to win that bfp! So hope it all goes boringly smoothly for you from here on in. are you going to scrap those intensive pt sessions? In the nicest possible way, hope you have to look for a new dress!

moomin, I told my Pilates instructor, I read advice that we should. She's been really good-gave me a list of exercises not to do, and said if she doesn't hear about my 12 week scan she'll assume it's gone wrong so I dint have to actually tell her.great that you've got a scan tomorrow, fx for you. I'm more and more sure I''ll pay for a 9 week one - though I just got quoted £230!!!! by the Spire. They are pisstakers, I think I will actually tell them that!

Great you saw the HB Jen! It's so reassuring, I can't wait to hear it again.

Feeling a bit dodgier again, which I like! Some random gagging and still not up for much food.

Seasides · 30/04/2014 13:20

Oh, sorry moomin, I forgot to say-it's just normal Pilates classes. There's been a really pg woman in the class after mine torturing me for months so it must be fine!

OttersPocket · 30/04/2014 13:46

Hi seasides, it's good to be here! I spoke to my PT last night (he's the only person to know about the bfp apart from DP IRL!) and he's used to training pregnant women so I'm going to stick with it. It's my (probably unrealistic) goal to tone up enough to still fit into the dress but with a small bump. I'm going to wait until after the 7 week scan then speak to the dressmaker about whether it's possible to expand the tummy part. No point in saying or making decisions until then I think.

OneLittle I haven't even started the new job yet! I've signed the contract and start on the 26th May (at hopefully 8 weeks). So that's a conversation I'm looking forward to 4 weeks after that....!

I keep staring at the digi in disbelief. When did everyone allow themselves to start to believe it even a tiny, little bit?

QuietTiger · 30/04/2014 14:00

Welcome Otters. I understand the whole "irony" thing! I sent my young horse to be backed in January, on the assumption that I'd be able to school him on for the rest of the year. I have also just got my young sheep dog going properly and was going to get him ready for trialing at the tail end of this year!

Now the dog has to be worked by DH as I can't handle the sheep and my horse has to be ridden by someone else for 9 months as he's too young and silly for me to take the risk! DH & I have also had to cancel our Christmas ski trip, because that's my due date!

That's why I know this baby will be fine and will arrive safely. Because although it is much wanted, it is bloody inconvenient timing!!

OttersPocket · 30/04/2014 14:09

Oh Quiet you've hit the nail on the head. This bfp couldn't have come at a worse time! Therefore, I'm hoping by the law of sod that all will be well Grin. I'm proceeding cautiously with my optimism for just now however.

LondonJen · 30/04/2014 15:11

Oo Moomin that is good, fingers crossed for tomorrow then.

Otters once I passed 10 weeks without anything happening (unlike last time) I felt a noticeable lift and then at 11 weeks I got a little swell of a bump and started to really feel safe. I was still stunned to see the little baby on the screen at my scan tho!

OneLittleToddleTerror · 30/04/2014 15:59

OttersPocket my job has a 6 months probationary period and I didn't tell my manager and HR until 16 or 17 weeks. You don't have to tell them until 15 weeks before your due date by law, but is there anyone without a noticeable bump by 25 weeks?

I was scared of telling my manager, and wanting to wait as long as possible so he has time to form an honest opinion of me (without the cloud of pregnancy). I was going to wait till after 20 weeks, but I started looking quite big by 14-15 weeks. I'm definitely much much larger than my first pregnancy Sad. In fact, the joggers I wore to the hospital to give birth felt so tight last night.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 30/04/2014 15:59

Forgot to say I'm still ofc in probation.

IhavetowaitHOWlong · 30/04/2014 16:31

Hi guys and congratulations to you all.

I promised myself I wouldn't join any threads or antenatal groups again until I knew things were progressing well, it's awful having to remove yourself and bring everyone down (MC Feb '14 and April '14), but here I am and in need of a bit of hand holding.

BFP yesterday morning, then started spotting yesterday afternoon and it's still happening. It's light and pinky, where both my previous MC have gone straight to bright red, fast and brutal, so I'm trying to tell myself that it's just a breakthrough bleed. The timing would be right, it's 4 weeks tomorrow since last MC, but I've never had any implantation or breakthrough bleeding in my previous three pregnancies (1st successfully went to term)

Struggling to find my posifrickentivity. Anyone got any going spare?

DitzyDonkey · 30/04/2014 16:36

Hello all, I hope you don't mind if I join? Smile well tentatively join at least!

I got a bfp today at 10dpo on a first response early test. It's a fairly satisfactory line for 10dpo!

To give you a little background to myself

Ttc 3 years
Pcos
Two chemical pregnancies
One mmc (died at 6 weeks but didnt loose it until 9weeks Sad
Conceived using clomid and metformin.
I have also been told to stay on baby aspirin and I need to get a prescription ASAP for progesterone tablets to help prevent another miscarriage. But I feel like its too early yet to go to the doctor yet I need to to get the bloody prescription......dramatic.....a little.

Sorry for the me me me post but I'm a little frantic as I just got the bfp and its such early days....how do you all bare the waiting. I wish I could fast forward!

CorporeSarnie · 30/04/2014 17:27

Gosh, more new BFPs Smile. Welcome.
HOWlong, my 1st and current pg both had implantation bleeding for a few days, similar to how you describe, none during the MC which interceded. Fx it sticks.
Toddle and otters, there is never a 'good' time. I've just really got back on my feet at work after quite a lot of upheaval last year (both job and personal, including the MC), and ideally I'd wait another year or two from a career perspective. However that would put me even closer to 40, not inherently a problem but considering how long it has taken me to get here that could have been an issue, and DD would have had an even bigger gap (if all goes well will be 3y, which I think will be nice, but originally had my heart set on a 2y gap - the follies of one's imagination, eh?). Tell as late as you feel comfortable - I've told people I have to so far, but no more than that... the rest can wait.

amicablemoomin · 30/04/2014 19:19

hi ditzy and howlong congrats on your BFP and welcome to the worry corner!

Am currently huddled in bed protecting myself against the fear of the scan tomorrow. Will be 6 +3. I've got constant period-type pain again which I know some of the other ladies had and been fine but it is just so worrying (and unpleasant).

Seasides, thanks so much for the pilates info, what a nice way for your instructor to do it!

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 30/04/2014 21:11

Dropped off the thread (it's B o ba)

JBrd, I am so awfully sorry to read your news. I'm so so sorry. Hope tomorrow is as peaceful as possible for you, and they can find why this has happened (if you want to know). Thanks I'm in the SE and my DH is at home all weekend, if you're close and there's anything you need doing. x

Welcome Otters, ditzy and howlong (were you on the Due Dec 14 board?, I was rudely bumped off the the due in July 13 thread and hopped right back onto the due in Aug thread so fingers crossed it's the same for you).

Have my early private scan tomorrow, should be 7+6 so fingers crossed (not feeling great, no solid lump or anything), so expecting the worst hoping for the best.

DitzyDonkey · 30/04/2014 21:16

amicable and DrFunkes thank you for the welcome! Best of luck with your scans tomorrow....I wish I was far enough along to get a scan!

At the moment I'm just hoping its still a bfp in the morn. I dont really have any symptoms....can any of you remember whether or not you had symptoms at 10 dpo?

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 30/04/2014 21:27

In 3 tracked pregnancies (1 mc, 1 ds and this one); yes, yes, no (the yes ones I had irritability and nausea 10dpo) Donkey.

My symptoms tend to come and go with successful pregnancies!

Moomin, sorry missed you had a scan tomorrow, best of luck to you. x

MabelMay · 01/05/2014 06:15

I'm so sorry this is going to be a terrible 'all about me' post. I'm on a trip away from home this week, on 3G and about to run out of juice...

Argh 13 weeks today and really not feeling pregnant - no more nausea or tummy twinges - boobs vaguely tender but not much. I can't remember if it's normal to feel like this at this point or not... Can't believe the reassurance of my happy scan of last week has given way to the doom again... Sad
Think jbrds terribly sad and unexpected news has made me realise how fragile these things can be. Gosh hope she is okay...

bakingtins · 01/05/2014 07:34

amicable and DrF good luck for today.

mabel wet fish heading your way! It's normal to feel better in 2nd trimester, it doesn't mean anything is wrong. I know it's a long time between 12 weeks and either 20 week scan or starting to feel movement, but you have a 99% chance that everything is fine.

ditzy and havetowait welcome! ditzy I would get the progesterone ASAP, you need it in the very early stages to support your lining while implantation happens and the levels build up, it's probably much less necessary as you get further on. I took it from CD21 this time, so preBFP. The 'tablets' are actually pessaries that you insert in your vagina or rectum, just so you don't get a surprise or a very unpleasant taste in your mouth, don't fancy trying to swallow one

Penguinita · 01/05/2014 07:52

Welcome ditzy, howlong and otters, lovely to see you here! Sending hand holding vibes your way howlong over the spotting, has it improved? I'm sure it is fine but we all know how scary it is.

mabel don't stress! it is all perfectly normal! I felt fab in the second trimester and not pregnant at all. Make the most of it while it lasts, before long you will be an insomniac beached whale with swollen elephant feet like me Smile

I had my 36 week midwife appointment this week and they are worried that the baby is measuring small, so I have a scan on Friday and a consultant appointment next week. Knew it was all going too well Sad. I scared myself looking at dr google for reasons so I'm trying to step away! So 6 weeks or 36 weeks, we all get the doom...

squizita · 01/05/2014 07:53

Just popping by, busy day today!

Hi to all especially new folk Otters, Ditzy and Howlong. :)

pgchimp · 01/05/2014 08:18

i have been away for last pre-baby holiday and do it has taken me several commutes to catch up.

firstly, jbrd, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope the physical side of things is not too awful and that you take all the time and support you need. words just aren't enough. Thanks

secondly welcome to all the newbies. your worrues are sooo normal, we have all been there. the best advice I had was to focus on small milestones to make the time go quicker, like focussing on tomorrow's meeting at work because then a whole day will have gone past!

I am 34+3 today and the first of my nct class had their baby on Monday (on due date!) which makes things feel a lot more real! need to get head out of sand and focus on birth plan!

good luck with any scans today.

bakingtins · 01/05/2014 09:16

penguin don't worry too much, bump measurement is a very inexact science. I had a planned growth scan this week but MW had said last week if I didn't have it booked she would have sent me for one as bump is measuring 2 weeks behind, everything was fine on the scan. I've measured behind in 3rd trimester with all of mine. The 'standard' measurements are based on you producing an 8lb baby, and many perfectly normal babies are just meant to be smaller than that. The continued growth trend is more important than the actual measurement. Hope you are reassured on Friday.
