Thanks so much baking! - yes good point I'll mention previous losses as the people doing it don't know my history.

I think I'm feeling the pressure even more as DH decided to tell our two DSs (aged 6 and 8) about pg as the 8 year old outright asked [weird instinct?] - of course they're so excited now I just can't bear having to tell them if something were wrong. Didn't really want them to know this early.

And nausea going at around 11 weeks is quite normal, right? argh.

Okay. Breathe. Relax.

I'll let you know how it goes of course.

MabelMay · 22/04/2014 14:27

thanks emki!

LondonJen · 22/04/2014 14:54

Thanks all. Am feeling bit calmer after getting that out. I am sure it is one of those things. Is just a bit freaky as it's not the same as the breathlessness I get at the top of the stairs. It happens when I am doing nothing and it's like my breath 'catches' (I am reluctant to say stops, because I'm not gasping for breath or anything.) It's hard to describe. Anyway. I have to go whether I like it or not I suppose!

Good luck Mrs G!

Glad you had a positive weekend Moomin and for your 5 week milestone.

Thinking of you Mabel, lots of luck x

Jbrd it does sound as though you're leaning a lot towards the local appointment. I am pleased for you that you've managed to make that first decision. And very true about the wait. Hope work distractions are helpful x

amicablemoomin · 22/04/2014 15:00

that's such a good idea baking, I will use it too if I get that far! it's what I'm dreading the most....that gap of a few moments lying there waiting to know if your heart is going to be broken again Sad. So much worse than exam results!

CorporeSarnie · 22/04/2014 15:10

I wrote a long post this morning and then MN seemed to have a blip, so apologies for being a bit rubbish on the 'greets' side of things.
Hi Mabel, good luck for later on, my 12w scan is tomorrow, last night was spent dreaming that I didn't know who the 'daddy' was (with a 2yo, chance would be a fine thing Grin), woke up in a sweat and with a cricked neck. So how I will sleep tonight is anyone's guess. Where are you in CA mabel? I lived in SF for a bit before I had DD .
Actually threw up for the first time ever in pregnancy today (except when I got norovirus last time, not counting that), not a particularly fun milestone, but it has helped convince me that I might still be pregnant (otherwise I just look a bit tubby, no discernible bump), am 12+1 today and don't think that I had a bump last time at this stage but this bit of pregnancy is hard enough without being terrified that I might MC again.
Unlike me but today I just want to get through so that tomorrow I can start 'living' again.

Seasides · 22/04/2014 15:18

Tiny bit of internet access so just wanted to say a huge good luck to everyone having scans today and tomorrow. It's terrifying, but remember the odds are hugely in your favour. My 6 weeker is on thurs, am crapping myself too, know just what you mean about the big bloody screen above you-I know what I'm looking for now too, which I don't think will help.

CallingAllEngels · 22/04/2014 15:42

Good luck to everyone worrying about scans...squizita, mabel, mrsg.

I've just signed up with my mw (online). Guess they'll call me back next week (told them I was travelling to the UK tomorrow for a few days). Still so early, but they were lovely last time I had my mc with scanning me and refering me to hospital to make sure I was okay. Much more helpful than the locum GP who I saw when I had my 1st mc (no EPU over here).

I felt nauseous today, so today I am DEFINITELY pregnant!

MabelMay · 22/04/2014 15:48

Thanks so much all.

seasides thinking of you for Thursday.

corpore I'm in LA. Tacos galore!

moomin yes ten times worse than exams!

Anyway I'd best get ready and off to scan. Oh gawd.

amicablemoomin · 22/04/2014 16:17

CallingAllEngels · 22/04/2014 17:32

I just told DH that I have good news and bad news.

The bad news is I feel sick.

The good news is I feel sick. Grin

MrsGiraffe12 · 22/04/2014 17:57

Yay. Baby is measuring well for 20 weeks. Didn't find out what we are having. Consultant went well too, and they have decided I'm allowed to VBAC which is fab as was crapping myself about another c section :-)

How is everyone else getting on xx

amicablemoomin · 22/04/2014 18:28

that's great news! Smile

CallingAllEngels · 22/04/2014 18:38

Fantastic MrsG! Have a lovely relaxed evening.

MrsGiraffe12 · 22/04/2014 18:53

Thanks all. I'm so pleased I'm allowed to try for a VBAC. Was scared about an ELCS as I've got DS to look after too so the being immobile / unable to lift stuff etc freaked me out. Now to find out info about antenatal classes etc and try not to worry about pooping in labour / tearing in labour x

fedupofrainydays · 22/04/2014 20:02

Great news mrsg
I have to have the same consultant chat in mid may. (Oddly before 21 wk scan) I too hoping they will let me do this the vag way!

Yay to feeling sick calling!!

Washed all my mat clothes today and broke the airer from the weight so now shoved them in the tumble dryer. Hope they don't all shrink!!

squizita · 22/04/2014 20:17

Oh super news MrsG! :)

bakingtins · 22/04/2014 20:37

Good news mrsG Smile

Penguinita · 22/04/2014 21:13

Great news mrsg!

Good luck to everyone else with upcoming scans. Keeping everything crossed for you.

MabelMay · 22/04/2014 21:58

Hi everyone.

Great news mrsG. for what it's worth, if you do end up having a 2nd CS, it's not that bad. I had a 22 month old when I had my 2nd CS and recovery really wasn't that tough and was able to do most things with him as normal. It didn't affect things badly at all. That said, of course VBAC always preferable if you can.

I think it's a bit late there in UK now and you've probably all gone to bed - but just to say - HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF - my scan was great! After horrible few hours feeling v anxious and taking it all out on DH and DCs, saw baby - moving around a lot. Heartbeat great. All limbs in place! Even seemed to wave. nuchal fold results good too (1.3cm) - and nasal bone in sight - so all looking great and I'm just so, so, so relieved! Smile

Thank you ALL for messages of luck and support - really helped this morning.

Can't wait to start telling people now. And also to let the kids start to think about the fact they might have a younger sibling in 6 months.

Feels like a big milestone. But, god, don't think I'll ever look at an ultrasound screen the same way after MCs. Sonographer was lovely though - and let me hear the heartbeat too.

Thanks guys! Good luck tomorrow squiz

JBrd · 22/04/2014 22:17

That is great, mabel happy days Smile

OneLittleToddleTerror · 22/04/2014 22:27

Hearing what quiettiger and mrsg mum been through made me feel lucky I have had only two MCs. Other than my parents and DH only on friend knows about it. I found it very difficult to open up on this because most seem to think babies are as easy to conceive as dtd once. And that includes my mum. She just couldn't understand how it took me so long.

I'm glad to hear all the good scan news. Mine is in two weeks and I'm very anxious about it. I think all of us here do. I foolishly took DD to a farm during Easter break. Only when I saw the sign outside the goat feeding barn warning about pregnancy and young goats was I reminded it was a very bad idea. Now I am worried I caught something I didn't feel? I would know if I catch something right?

jbrd is it possible to find the amnio success rate of your local consultant? I remember someone mentioned it is available on MN.
