Went for a mammoth shop today - Ikea odds and ends, including washcloths, Mothercare for sleepsuits and hats, bath, changing mat, steriliser and bottle set 'cos it was half price, and sheets which (I hope) will fit my co-sleeper cot. Oh, and breast pads, a front-buttoning nightshirt and nursing bras. Don't think I can bring myself to do any more in person - will need to be online from now on!

merk, house chaos here too- loads of stuff we need to do, but have created safe pathways through it all so I can function at least - most important is path between sofa/bed/biscuit tin

merk I am having general baby fear and had a melt down in mothercare on Sun over prams and wether baby needs vest things under his sleep suits and if he will be to hot or cold.

hav calmed down a bit today and bought said vest things (in case) and a cute 'going home' outfit in 2 sizes!

not even got round to worrying about pushing him out yet!

merk I think it's more likely to be me having the bad birth given my problem free pregnancy so far!

Although Dh has just joked that my easy ride is coming to an end given that I've just wriggled for ages on sofa trying to get comfortable!

Puppy I had the vest uncertainty too. Evidently they need a vest under a baby grow, but a lot of the confusion comes from the fact that everybody calls them different things; onsies, vests, babygrow, sleepsuit etc etc
I woke in a panic the other night worrying about whether the frilly bits around the edge of a nappy should be tucked into the nappy or not!

Thunder, glad to hear you can get to the biscuit tin! I am eating like a horse, (craving sugar), DH is getting scared on my behalf about how big she is going to be and whether she will "fit out of my bits" as he put it

Vests??? Frilly bits??? Cue imimant meltdown!!! Did make a trip to the mothercare superstore on fri but left with nothing due to feeling completely overwhelmed with choice!

Oh and now you've reminded me about sugar..and that I have cola bottles in my bag..

I haven't really slept yet tonight. Which makes perfect sense for someone who's been off work too knackered to function. Grrrr

I am avoiding worrying about how the birth will go as I figure I've so little control over it, I'm not sure what to worry about first. Due date is just over 6 weeks away tho- argggg I've got so much to do!!

Just repeated my usual error, forgot to do a wee sample with FMU when I have the first midwife appointment of the day. Going to spend the next half hour drinking water in the hope of being able to pee again but the chances are small. And I can never pee under pressure once I'm there especially as holding a sample pot down a dirty hospital toilet is not my idea of fun Grr, have not have my wee checked for nearly 5 weeks so it is extra important, especially with the swollen hands. Must stop booking early midwife appointments!

On a plus note, I am seeing an antenatal chiropractor later today and am quite excited that he may be able to help with the pain in my hips/pelvis. Am also secretly hoping he has a table with a hole so I can lie on my front for a little bit

I have my appointments at my community hospital and it's absolutely spotless there although I still don't like the pee pressure. My lot don't want fmu, they want wee after a shower/bath to make sure the sample is clean.

I can't stay in bed today, no- had a day off yesterday and really must get my sorry self back to work. Yawn.

Yeah my previous midwives were at the community centre and that was lovely. New hospital is a bit old and grim... Potentially might be swapping hospitals for the birth to be the same as Charming as the birth centre at mine hasn't opened yet

Hey Berries, haven't said much in a while but I'm still here keeping up to date with the posts

merk I know what you mean about the stress pee - I didn't bring a sample to my last appointment and ended up having to do it at the Drs - first time I have ever been unable to pee due to pressure! I did it in the end by consciously relaxing, but then handed the midwife a damp-labelled bottle (Had to rinse it as had peed on it - my direction is unpredictable!). She said she didn't mind…

28 week appointment next week, must also book my whooping cough vaccine…
