You must have sick leave tho?

CatsCantFlyFast · 10/03/2014 21:16

Could you drop one more day perhaps Tally?

Thunderpantsarego · 10/03/2014 21:23

Gahhh!!! Channel 4 has stopped working!

Tallyra · 11/03/2014 06:31

I think you might be right you two. Woken up this morning feeling like crap again. I'm going to see if I can maybe reduce my hours and sleep longer.

Tallyra · 11/03/2014 06:31

Boom, how the hell are you still working? And Kat, how are you??

PoppySeedBun · 11/03/2014 08:05

Tally sounds like a good idea to try and take it easy
thunder merk hope that if babies are staying put for now, they at least cause a bit less trouble

sid does that mean your stabby pain has sorted itself out? Hope so!

Starting to feel more tired here too (34 wks this week), but everyone around me at work seems to be sick at the moment, so just desperately hoping I don't pick up any of that. Only three weeks left and work and I can't wait for a break.

Bunnygirlie · 11/03/2014 08:27

When did/are you finishing work? Not something I've thought about yet but girl at work who just announced has told her boss she will finish 1 week before due date and I think she's nuts lol

BlearyeyedLol · 11/03/2014 09:06

Bunny I was having contractions at work. Finished on Friday and had baby on Saturday Grin
But I felt fine and have a 5 min commute plus I manage the place so can take things a bit easier
For me it meant more time with baby and less time at home getting anxious!

Thunderpantsarego · 11/03/2014 09:41

Bunny I was due to finish at 38 weeks but brought it forward to 37 as I was so tired!

tally, GOOD! Look after yourself

Hello poppy! How are you doing? Feeling well other than the tiredness I hope

PoppySeedBun · 11/03/2014 11:14

I'm off from 37 weeks as well. Luckily, work benefits are pretty good, so planning to take a year off, and it also neatly coincides with end of year. Glad I went for that now - starting to get more back pain in the afternoon, and hip pain if I've been sitting too long. Also have a 1hr tube commute that I will be very glad to stop. Smile

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/03/2014 11:29

Poppy I didn't realise you were a fellow Londoner (although strictly speaking I'm not!) We are not as outnumbered as I thought!

Tallyra · 11/03/2014 12:16

Bunny, I think she's crazy. My boss worked up until a week before and says it was almost impossible as she was so tired. I don't even have a demanding job and I'm having trouble at 34 weeks!
I spoke to boss this morning and I'm going to come in an hour later to try and help with feeling so sick when I get up. Thanks for the encouragement girls, I probably wouldn't have said anything without you.

Boomgoestheweasel · 11/03/2014 15:07

Hello all

Sorry for absence, I've been running round like the proverbial blue-arsed fly this last week or so. Last day at work tomorrow WOOOOP! I'm so ready, Tally I'm not even feeling poorly but my energy is just non-existent. Really feel for you, glad you've managed to sort out some extra lie-in time. I need a year off before these babies arrive!

Merk haven't you had Merklet yet??

Hello poppy how are you doing?

Kitty your photos are lovely Grin I hope mine turn out as well! I didn't get any dressed ones and Mr Boom didn't come with me as I'm getting them done as a bday present for him. Went straight for the birthday suit so I hope I like them when I see them and don't wish I'd kept clothes on... She said she should be done editing etc by the weekend so hopefully I can look through them before we go to the lakes. I actually really enjoyed my session, would totally recommend it - it was very liberating really! Although maybe I should wait until I see the end result before gushing too much, I might look like a naked spacehopper. Feel reassured that she said she really liked some of the shots though, I'm hoping they come out ok.

I've tried to stop sulking about the stupid back to front baby positions - just going to do lots of yoga, swimming and have booked moxibustion for Thursday morning just to see if it can do anything. Will try all avenues at this point.. thunder I'm too lazy to scroll back, did you think thunderbaby had gone breech?

How are all the first trimester-ers holding up? Hope sickness and tiredness isn't too bad and you're still managing to enjoy being pregnant (on the whole at least!)

Right, off to meet my NCT class for a coffee, I do feel sooo middle class!

PuppyMummy · 11/03/2014 16:05

im hoping to work up to 39 weeks! ppl also keep telling me ill never manage it which is makin me want to do it more!

will hav to see how I get on!

caved and bought maternity tights today, my folded down normal ones r now far too uncomfy!!

also had the anti d. she did it whilst takin blood so it went straight in rather than an injection! didnt hurt at all so I was very impressed!

Brodicea · 11/03/2014 16:09

Hi all, sorry I've been away - it's been DH's birthday so lots of social engagements / days off. I'm also volunteering at the mo and don't have access to internet for skiving on mumsnet Smile like I used to in my old job and during my days of unemployed leisure. I have some paid work at the end of March and am dreading it though as I knacker so easily at the mo.

How exciting about your pictures boom! I hope they turn out well! I kind of wish I'd sorted something similar, but I am also horrified as I have put on a fair bit of weight and look like my fat auntie - i.e. not so sexy. Dh still loves the boobs though, probably more than before if he's honest.

My third trimester has seen: cankles, extreme tiredness, inability to walk up hill, morning sickness (though not every day), heartburn, huge appetite but no room for food, stabbing pains in my burger and movement-based paranoia (i.e., how much has she moved???). Looks like all us third trimester berries (and probably first too!) are pooped.

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/03/2014 16:15

Boom I snorted at the naked space hopper analogy Grin bet the pics are lovely
No merklet yet but if she gets any lower I think she may exit out of the soles of my feet!

BlindKitty · 11/03/2014 16:31

tally was kat in here? Didn't see her post. Kat, if you're reading this please come back!

boom glad you enjoyed your pics. So are we going to swap or are yours for mr boom's eyes only?!?!

So just touring a couple of birthing centres. VERY impressed with one of them. They don't even have proper beds (apart from the double you pull down at the end for you and your husband to have some quality time with your baby before you leave) to keep you in a better position and every room has a birthing pool, etc. In fact, it was more like a hotel!

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/03/2014 17:17

Blind that's what my birth centre is like. Heaven

Tallyra · 11/03/2014 18:27

Sounds like a fantastic place!!!

No, I didn't see Kat. Come back Kat, how are you?

BlindKitty · 11/03/2014 19:03

merk have you changed centres then? The great thing is I don't even have to discharge myself from my current trust so I can just decide on the day. The perfect one is unfortunately the furthest away!

Hello, lapsed berry returning to the pav, if you'll have me. I did the bad thing of only checking fb, but will endeavour to check in here too.

I'm thinking of stopping work at 29 weeks as it's half term. Is that mad? I'm soooo tired already and my classroom is a suntrap, so will get unbearable in the heat. I've stopped doing 13 hour days, now just the 10 most days. Ofsted are due after Easter too & I could do without that. I'm also struggling emotionally. I am conscious that it would mean going back before charmlet is a year, but I would only have to work half a term then have the summer off paid....

How is everyone this evening?

BlindKitty · 11/03/2014 19:22

Hey charming! If you're struggling emotionally maybe it is a good idea to steer clear of the stress. Interestingly my friend is also a teacher and has been signed off with stress until her mat leave. Although its more to do with school scandal (nothing to do with her) and its sent her blood pressure through the roof

OP posts:
CharmingCats · 11/03/2014 19:33

The emotional thing is to do with my mother, but work is not exactly stress free.
Lovely pics, btw kitty x

Bunnygirlie · 11/03/2014 19:54

Hi everyone!

Glad you got it sorted tally Hope you feel better!

So just another 27 weeks then, Gawd I'd like to finish now! Lol

Hey boom I didn't half snigger at naked space hopper! Are you orange with 2 strange handles?!? Wink and wtf is moxibustion?!? Sounds dangerous!

I'm ok thanks boom still gaggalicious and very moody but praying that will pass in a few weeks (11 weeks on thurs). Can't say I'm enjoying it at the mo, might feel better if scan goes well and we start telling people.

Good to see you charming sorry to hear you are struggling.

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/03/2014 19:54

Kitty my new birth centre is run by the same trust so luckily I didn't have to officially swap, just make sure they had a copy of my notes
Hey Charming. I would say follow your intuition regards work, however from somebody who has been off from about that time, it does get boring and it makes it drag a bit. Could you go part time, (even 1/2 a day a week or something) or is that nt an option? Hope you're otherwise ok
