Hello all. I am 9+6 today after 2 mcs, 2mmcs and 1 chemical pg for good measure. i had a scan at 9+1 and everything was looking good but I have another scan next Monday ahead of having the Harmony test and am now worrying they won't find a heartbeat then, just to add onto the worry i am having now about downs or other chromosome issues - am 43 so is a major stress. any words of wisdom???

ChristineDaae · 21/01/2014 19:21

Can I ask a question for any second timers? With DD I was induced early so no clue about the whole 'going into labour'

Tmi alert by the way....

Today when I went for wee there was lot of (for want of a better word) snotty looking discharge. Is that the plug??

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 21/01/2014 19:25

Yay! sounds like it! at least things might be moving! Smile

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 21/01/2014 19:26

Liss what will be will be. Try not to worry about it until it happens. x

thepiggotupandslowlywalkedaway · 21/01/2014 20:01

Christine, my plug looked like a really, really big pinky lump of snot, so, yes, could well be! It went one evening and 24 hours later I was looking at a newborn baby and thinking 'what do I do now?'. Good luck.

Saggy, glad you had a good scan.

MrsG, just lots of sympathy.

We've now got a huge double buggy cluttering our house up. It's a bit of a shock after the neat singles we've been using up to now, and I keep looking down at it and thinking, 'shit, this is going to be full of babies in less than three month's time'.

Pixielady83 · 21/01/2014 22:56

thepig love that- full of babies! how exciting! what double did you go for?

christine that sounds good! no plug experience here I'm afraid my first indication of labour last time was my waters going. fingers crossed things start happening soon.

liss so sorry for your losses. Best of luck with this pregnancy Thanks

cyber I'm sorry about your cat, no wonder you feel emotional Sad that's very sad.

Day 2 of maternity leave and I have filled several charity bags and ticked lots of jobs off my list already! feels good Smile and found out today another close friend is pregnant! that's 5 of us due in the next 6 months Smile just wish we all lived closer, we are all over the country. We are planning a big baby meet in the summer! Smile

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 21/01/2014 23:01

I too am on day 2 of mat leave. 2 days since I stopped being a vendor of cheese. Smile
And what did I do today?... Spent half an hour drooling over the cheese shop at Liverpool St Station! Confused Blush Smile

Pixielady83 · 22/01/2014 08:24

ha saggy it must be a true vocation if you've finished work and still can't get enough cheese Grin who can blame you. I really want a lush cheeseboard with all banned cheeses in pregnancy lined up post delivery! although if its anything like last time I just didn't fancy any food apart from v plain for ages. I was so disappointed, didn't even fancy the bubbly I'd been saving for celebrating the event!

Lieslvontrapp · 22/01/2014 08:31

Christine hope that is your plug and things will now start happening for you!

welcome lissbug! Sorry for your previous losses and as saggy says try not to worry about test results.

Hope everyone else pre 12 weeks is doing ok and taking one day at a time. Remember until you're told otherwise 'today you are pregnant'.

pixie sounds like a productive start to mat leave. First on my list for today is Murray v federer in the tennis!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 22/01/2014 08:55

I had a call this morning at 7.59am!! from the local screening midwife about my scan next week. She must have read my mind, because she is going to arrange a meeting with the correct consultant the same day, to discuss delivery and anything else I might need to know. And she will finally get the stupid ongoing GTT saga dealt with. All in one big visit. Tidying up all my loose ends and dealing with all of my stressing in one go! Grin
Im slightly concerned that this week is going TOO well! Hmm I always get panicky when life is nice to me! Confused

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 22/01/2014 09:00

Sending out sticky bean vibes today for all of the newbies,
sickness vibes for all of the symptomless ladies,
anti sickness vibes for all of the vomiters out there,
let time pass quicker vibes for everyone in the middle,
great scan vibes,
self mending SPD vibes for all the creakys out there,
and most importantly, get the hell out of the womb vibes for Christine. Grin

Does that cover everyone?
I'm going back to bed now, see you all at teatime! Grin

ChristineDaae · 22/01/2014 10:09

Hi all, just back from the midwife. She attempted to do a sweep, couldn't even reach the cervix. Baby is still not even close to engaged, she basically said just accept its going to be a while... Which wouldn't be so bad if bump wasn't measuring at 43 weeks, PGP getting worse by the day and I'm not getting more than 20/30 min sleep at a time because I'm so uncomfortable! I know I should be so happy I have a healthy baby but in reality I'm sat here crying like a total idiot.

bakingtins · 22/01/2014 10:26

(((HUGS))) for Christine Second babies often don't engage until you are actually in labour - mine didn't. I think if your plug has gone (and it sounds like it) then your body is prepping for labour. Hopefully not too long...

saggy glad they are getting their act together for you. Joined-up care from the NHS?? What next??

liss welcome! No words of wisdom really - I was scanned pretty much weekly in first trimester this time and was still a complete wreck before every one. If you've had a good scan after 8 weeks then the stats are very much on your side.

cyber I'm sorry about your cat. We lost a cat and our beloved dog in September just before I got pregnant and coming on top of 3MC in under a year it was just the final straw. They become even more important when you've been through the mill emotionally. We're going to look at another dog on Saturday so hoping to have furry friends around the place again soon.

christine start with sex the semen thins the cervix and the orgasm will start the uterus contracting xx

fod27 · 22/01/2014 11:03

saggy I know that feeling! I spent last night googling what can be missed in the anomaly scan - think we start to look for problems when we've got this far, but I honestly believe we will all feel this easy until we are holding our little ones. So pleased you have a "3 birds one stone" day - although I know it's usually 2, If anyone deserves to enjoy the smooth it's you xxx

Pixielady83 · 22/01/2014 11:23

saggy that's brilliant, she sounds like a good un that midwife!

christine I can't imagine how frustrated you feel.. I really hope things happen soon. If you can get out for some treats do it. Cake time? Cake Brew Thanks

Sod it, I think at this stage if I were you I'd be having Wine to cheer me up as well! (and I'm sure I read somewhere red wine can induce labour...)

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 22/01/2014 12:24

Dragging myself from my slumbers to say...
FFS DO NOT TAKE CASTOR OIL!
Apart from the sheer volume of liquid shit that can come from one crappy pg woman, which is never good in labour, there's a chance it will encourage the baby to pass meconium. which is also never good. Sad
Sorry Kat, rant over. Smile

Sorry! Blush I went off half cocked again!
I just get a little Confused at how close I once came to doing it myself! Blush

Pixielady83 · 22/01/2014 13:16

haha saggy you can't even leave us unsupervised to have a sleep Grin if its not digi tests, its castor oil! I didn't know that by the way!

thepiggotupandslowlywalkedaway · 22/01/2014 13:24

Pixielady, we've got a second-hand Out n About nipper. I'm looking for lovely cosytoes to make them all snuggly now! Enjoy your leave, and I'm very impressed with the way you're whizzing through your list!

Saggy, that is cheese dedication indeed! That meeting sounds very promising, and hope it delivers everything you want. Don't worry, some weeks are just good weeks, so enjoy!

Christine, how annoying. It always seems to be the very beginning and the very end of pregnancy that drag on and on and on. Come on baby! Engage!

Pixielady83 · 22/01/2014 13:56

ooh thepig I like those, dead easy to fold too. When we started TTC DD was 18mths and that was what I had my eye on as a double. Still feel a tiny bit sad I won't need a double now even though I don't have room in my house to store one! (and shouldn't tempt fate by saying things like that... don't really want a surprise after this one!)

I am chuffed to be getting through my list, it is literally the first time in years I've had the time and space to sort things without DD under my feet! makes a huge difference!

fod27 · 22/01/2014 14:24

Any 30 week plusers finding themselves tired and having afternoon sleeps?

Lieslvontrapp · 22/01/2014 14:54
