Morning - made me laugh aoife cash for M & S snacks - did you ask her in the end? Also think your idea of maternity leave is perfect - I said the same thing to myself as I'd had 2 miscarriages and felt I needed a break whatever the outcome - fingers crossed that all goes well and you will be on maternity leave with your baby

kjh5 thank you and good luck for the last 10 weeks - whoo hoo!!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 06/02/2014 09:16

hoping to hear at least 1 lot of new baby news today. Smile
Go Christine!
Pixie how you doing??

Pixielady83 · 06/02/2014 09:48

I'm fine thanks saggy still got period pains but no BH this morning and not as bad as last night. Although I was aware of them in the night weirdly enough I had the best sleep in weeks which was totally amazing! I can't go into labour yet, still got lots to do and I'm looking forward to vegging on sofa watching winter Olympics from tomorrow!

Finishing off hospital bag and sorting out the chaos that is our bedroom today though just in case but definitely not getting my hopes up.

Hope christine is doing ok!

LondonJen · 06/02/2014 10:37

Good hiberntation plan Fedup!

Very excited for you Christine! Not long now!

Thanks for sharing Pentagon, I really appreciate it. I am positive about today. Thinking about 7-10 weeks freaks me out a bit. (So don't obv, I am trying to be in the moment, honest!) I guess really anytrhing could happen with my symptoms and it still be okay.

Aoife that is lovely. We can only manage to keep it quiet as parents are all up North so it's easier to hide!

Pgchimp, great advice. I put 1st Dr's appt in at 6 weeks in the hope that wouldn't have so long to wait for booking appt. I work for myself from home and things are quiet at the moment which is not helpful when I need distracting!

Hope everyone else is feeling good today.

fod27 · 06/02/2014 12:01

saggy Thankyou I have contacted Garden with my info ;)

Christine breast and push and breath

GuffSmuggler · 06/02/2014 12:02

pixie I'm 36 weeks to and so don't feel ready yet, arrrgghhhh, there's still so much to do. I haven't even packed my hospital bag yet but think perhaps I should.

I never got anything before I went into labour last time so would serious freak out if I was having symptoms like you, sounds like your body is just getting ready though which must be a good thing.

Hope christine is currently pushing a gorgeous baby into the world!!

HopefulHamster · 06/02/2014 12:28

Hi all, after my general achiness a couple of days ago, I had bleeding last night. I had a blood test today at my hospital (for fert. treatment) so not sure what will happen next, but suspect this is the beginning of bad news :-/. Had just started to believe it too. Oh well.

kjh5 · 06/02/2014 12:32

ooh how exciting for Christine hope we have a new thread baby soon!

Fedup time seems to drag at the beginning but if you just concentrate on taking it one week at a time, you suddenly look back and realise you're heading into the third trimester and you managed to get through all those weeks of worry and stress! The first trimester is definitely the hardest though. Like everyone else says, the easiest way to get through it is set yourself mini goals and try and keep yourself distracted. I planned something to look forward to every weekend if I could so I was focusing on that rather than on whether or not a lack of sore boobs or a dip in MS meant I was going to MC again! ;)

kjh5 · 06/02/2014 12:37

Hopeful how far along are you? Has the bleeding stopped? I had bleeding throughout my first trimester, some heavy, some light. It does not necessarily mean you are MC'ing. I think quite a few of us have experienced this to some degree and we're all still here xx

Aoifebelle · 06/02/2014 13:04

Hi hamster, not surprised you are freaking, but maybe a bit early to give up hope completely? Keeping everything crossed for you.

HopefulHamster · 06/02/2014 13:43

I'm five weeks, I think because of what happened before it's just sucked the hope out of me. I am cramping a bit as well. It has reduced to spotting now, so maybe 10% of me is still hopeful!

ChristineDaae · 06/02/2014 13:52

Hi ladies, so...the induction...
Stubborn ass over here was in labour from 2am but was all 'I'm not having pain relief thus early, it's only the gel doing its job'
Fast forward to 5.50, quite a lot if pain, thinking grow a pair Christine, you're not wimping out this early (bad experience if pain relief with DD)
Midwife comes in to break waters... Turns out I was fully dilated and poor DP got a frantic phone call and made it with a whole 5 min to spare!
We have a beautiful little girl, born at 6.45 weighing 9lb11.5oz Grin

Yay Christine congrats!! :)

Handsfullandlovingit · 06/02/2014 14:03

Christine well done and congratulations! Is she very beautiful? Hope you are feeling in one piece. You are hard core and should be dead proud of yourself.

hopeful I do hope things calm down. I have a friend who bled her way through two successful pregnancies.

kjh I like the weekend at a time approach. I'm singing, skiing, skiing for the next 3. I'll be 8 weeks shortly after that.

pixie how are you doing? You can have my Mary Poppins hat. It doesn't work for me!

kjh5 · 06/02/2014 14:19

YAY Christine!!! She's finally here! So excited for you, glad it was over fairly quickly Grin

You'll have to let us know about a name once you've recovered.

Hopeful can you get booked in for a 6week scan at your nearest Early Pregnancy Unit? I had reassurance scans at 7weeks (due to spotting) 8 weeks and 9 weeks (because of bleeds) and they had no problem scanning me at any of those points. You may not learn a lot at 6 weeks but sometimes you can see a heartbeat that early and it might be helpful to have some information rather than worrying about what may or may not be happening?

Handsfull sounds like you have great distractions built in over the next few weeks :) helps to have so many exciting things to look forward to!

I have bitten the bullet and brought my Mat leave forward by a month - finally admitted to myself last night while I was trying not to cry at work because I couldn't walk I was in so much damn pain from the SPD that there is no way I can cope with another 8 weeks of night shifts. So four weeks until I leave! Still waiting for Manager to sign off on it but don't forsee any problems. Now I just need something to keep myself occupied for 6 weeks of sitting at home on my arse trying not to die from boredom!

Pixielady83 · 06/02/2014 14:28

hooray christine so pleased for you! that was quick! Smile Smile Smile kudos for no pain relief, wow! She is a good weight too! really glad she's here ok, loads of congratulations! Thanks

hopeful really hope things settle down and you can get some reassurance soon. It must be so hard not to think the worst.

guff I'm starting to feel more prepared but was panicking a bit last night in all honesty. It's more that I don't feel mentally ready than logistics I think which is a bit daft as we've been hoping to get to this point for the last 2 years!

handful you've shattered all my illusions now of perfect bedtimes and toy soldiers marching into toy boxes by themselves Wink All BH and pains stopped now, probably for the best as baby is measuring small and needs more cooking. Met DH for a big lunch including chocolate brownie and ice cream so doing my bit to help baby put a bit more weight on!

Pixielady83 · 06/02/2014 14:30

kjh forgot to say- you've done the right thing, you'll honestly feel so much better in no time once you're off. I'm finding plenty to do, have only had one day where I missed work a bit and this is my 3rd week off!

Aoifebelle · 06/02/2014 14:39

Woo hoo Christine, and a whopper to boot. Sounds like you toughed it out big stylee.

sounds like you might be next pixie, is that about right?

Pixielady83 · 06/02/2014 14:43

no liesel's next! I think I'm 4th in line!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 06/02/2014 14:58

NINE POUNDS ELEVEN AND A HALF! On no pain relief! Go Christine! I really don't think you need to grow a pair! Grin
KJH join the long wait and bored stupid club! Wink

Pixie it sounds like you and Liesl might get a photo finish!
Hamster just remember it's not over till its over.
Fod you've lost me again! what have I done now? Confused Grin
Well I've done my blood sugar again this morning. It's not good! Sad The quicker Ryvita comes out (safely) and this all goes away the better!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 06/02/2014 15:03

It struck me this morning, it's a year on Saturday since my MC. How time passes and things change. I feel a little sad that that wee being is now such a distant memory. It was such a horrible thing to happen at the time it felt like the world was ending, but so much has happened in the past year, it barely registers anymore and much more horrid stuff seems so normal. Sad
Life is a funny thing!

Pixielady83 · 06/02/2014 15:13

Thanks for your little one saggy it is a very strange thing thinking of what might have been isn't it. For a while now I've had a strong feeling that it wasn't the right time for us (even though there will only be a 6month difference all being well in the mmc due date and this one coming) which is strange but weirdly comforting. Sorry to hear your blood sugar is messing you around, not nice to have to worry about that on top of everything else. I know I would be rubbish if I had to try and think about sugar levels etc, there's so little I'm keen to eat that isn't really high sugar at the moment Confused

JBrd · 06/02/2014 15:27

Yay, Christine congratulations and well done! Good things come to those who wait Thanks

BobaFetaCheese · 06/02/2014 16:03

Well done Christine!! 9 11.5 hope you're both snuggled up!

Saggy, sending you a big hug for Saturday. And hope your blood sugar stops messing you around!

GardenWorm · 06/02/2014 16:09
