dmt sorry it's not looking good really hope it is a good outcome for you Thanks

fedup I remember you! so pleased to see you back, really hope all goes smoothly.

welcome handful too Smile

hi total how are you feeling? not long now hey! I remember that 'will we ever have everything ready feeling' from last time. with amazon next day delivery and 24hr supermarkets you really don't need to stress. I found we actually enjoyed little outings to pick up bits we needed last time, I remember things like going to the supermarket with DD in tow felt like a massive achievement, and this was with DH's help hehe. Having said that, some friends of ours have deployed the opposite approach of having next to nothing ready and that looks like it has been v stressful so there has to be a happy medium!

All night long heartburn last night - resorted to trying to sleep sitting up. Feeling quite sorry for myself this morning as got to entertain DD all day too and still feel shocking. Gaviscon advance isn't even touching it. Sniff. Sad

fod27 · 05/02/2014 08:49

pentagon that's be great! You will have to tell me wfere to find you though - hope your all well

fedup hiiiiii!!!! I remember you too! Great BFP news! Just excellent hope you feeling well

fedupofrainydays · 05/02/2014 09:27

Felt sick this morning so really pleased. I want to be hurling down the loo.
Thanks for the welcome (back)! :)

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 05/02/2014 09:35

Ugh! just had to do my first finger stab/blood sugar tests. Confused Sad No more chocolate for me!

squizita · 05/02/2014 09:39

Pixie sorry to hear you're feeling rough and had a bad night.

DTM really, really hope it is just a scare. So hard to hope, though, when you're in the middle of it all. FX for you.

Fedup Glad to hear you're feeling sick! I just upchucked and felt terrible but psychologically good. I have found beef hula hoops cut the feeling so everyone in the office is looking at me like "err you minger, beef crisps at 9.30am" Grin

Quick question for you more experienced ladies: it was impressed upon me to carry my pregnancy notes everywhere with me but they're a big wedge. An tips? Apart from buy a new handbag? Considering decanting them into a polypocket so I can fold them easily.

JBrd · 05/02/2014 09:50

Hello fedup! Good to see you here, too.

DTM Don't give up all hope just yet - you had a good scan, you said, that means a lot! How far along are you? Remember that with every positive scan, your odds for a successful pregnancy improve. Fingers crossed for you!

squiz Sounds like a perfect reason to buy a new handbag to me Wink Treat yourself!

squizita · 05/02/2014 09:50

...also quick paranoid question. The therapist at St Mary's is an actual psychiatrist. One of my friends scared me half to death by saying if you're seen by one when pregnant social services will assume you'll be an unfit mother (think friend was a lot more mentally distressed than me when pg) and now I've got myself nervous. My notes make it quite clear I am specifically anxious about medical appointments regarding pregnancy and in day to day life am slightly normal.

fedupofrainydays · 05/02/2014 10:29

squiz you only need to take the notes unless you are travelling far from home.. Or v close to due date! Well that's what I did....

Yes - I find monster munch and wotsits a life saver despite a bit weird for breakfast!!!

JBrd · 05/02/2014 10:36

squiz Please don't worry about seeing a psychiatrist! Your friend is talking rubbish - all they want to do at this point is to ensure that you can cope with the pregnancy! You have a history of mc, and that's enough to make anyone anxious. As we all know all too well, nothing in pregnancy compares to normal day-to-day life.
If you worry about this, then that would be one of the first questions to ask, so that they can reassure you.

LondonJen · 05/02/2014 10:40

David I just wanted to say sorry to hear that and thinking of you xxx

Aoifebelle · 05/02/2014 12:39

Right, how about this for a proposal. I am now on my third pregnancy, but still no kids. I think I deserve mat leave, no matter what the outcome. I have 10 years unbroken service and if it goes Tits up again I will need the break. Personally I don't see how they can refuse. Whaddya reckon?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 05/02/2014 13:14

Aoife that sounds like a plan. Grin
Squiz I took mine most places, but I did indeed buy a new handbag. Grin What more excuse does a woman need? Wink

NerdyBird · 05/02/2014 13:45

Hello

I had my appt with the midwife yesterday. It was a different lady to the one who booked me in, and there was a student there as well. I told them about the spotting and discharge and they didn't seem too concerned and said to go back to ante-natal people if it happens again. They did blood pressure and wee checks, all fine. Blood results from booking in were all fine too. They didn't weigh me but I suspect I've put on 3-4kg. The MW felt my tummy and said my muscles were quite strong and the uterus wasn't as high up as she'd expect. I wonder if that's why my bump is small. She did check the heartbeat, and I could hear it swooshing. There was a noise she said was a kick, too.

fedup am so glad to see you back here. Really hoping this one works out for you.

squizita glad you had a good scan. I wouldn't worry about what your friend said, it sounds like rubbish to me. You can ask the psychiatrist about it too.

david hope all goes well for you too

Thanks as usual to everyone for your reassuring messages. Just need to get through anomaly scan now!

MrsGiraffe12 · 05/02/2014 14:44

Just popping in to catch up with everyone's news.

As there is so many of us I can't comment on everyone but just letting you know I'm thinking of you all :-)

As for myself.......today I'm still pregnant, 9+5 and counting the time till my NT scan......only 20 days 20 hours and 35 mins lol x

Emki · 05/02/2014 14:48

Hello ladies

Had a brief scan through the thread and saw great news from fedup so pleased to see you back - I have everything crossed for you!

penguin read your post too - yes sleeping is very uncomfortable - I have a pillow between my knees but still have constant aching hips - fraid i'm going to get bed sores! Husband also informed me the other day that I had started snoring ... ahh lovely! so as well as constipated and all that that brings (windy pops) i'm now snoring too - I'm just so attractive at the moment.

Just wanted to check in and say hi and also ask if anyone else is incredibly tired! Maybe its this crazy weather ... but my legs feel like lead! I'm 24 weeks now - shouldn't I still be full of energy? I'm a teacher, and I start the day okay - standing and walking round the class - but by periods 5 & 6 I have to sit down - is anyone else like this or am I just a light weight?

Will read through thread and catch up this evening when I should be marking ... but need to catch up with you all as work has taken over and I've missed what has been happening.

Hope everyone is doing well xx

kjh5 · 05/02/2014 15:07

YAY Fedup so happy to see you back :) Here's hoping for a sticky one this time round for you, sending you lots of positive pg vibes xxx

Christine Fx it is not too much longer for you!

So nice to hear from the grads as well :) Nice when people pop back in!

Emki I've been feeling knackered this entire pregnancy so you are not alone. At 25 weeks I honestly had no idea how I was going to carry on working - and my job is sedentary. But I just push through one night at a time - and I'm lucky that I can work from home if I need to (although I'm finding that more stressful than being in the office!).

It must be so hard with teaching but (as my boss reminded me the other day) YOU and your health are the number 1 priority, so anything you need to do to make things easier on yourself is perfectly ok.

29+2 today and I've hit a wall - totally drained. Third trimester is no joke, I want to hibernate for the next 10 weeks...

Aoifebelle · 05/02/2014 16:13

Arghhhhh. tube strike error. Stuck on bus going nowhere fast and the hunger has just struck and I have nothing to eat. I literally feel like I have a void where my stomach should be. The girl next to me has a bag of m&s food shopping. Seriously contemplating offering her cash for some edibles.

LondonJen · 05/02/2014 16:18

Aoife I like your maternity plan, well deserved I think. I was just about to post about how much food I just bought perhaps I best not?!

LondonJen · 05/02/2014 16:26

So (sorry Aoife) just had to stock up on crackers, hula hoops, crumpets for inbetween meals as woke up feeling the full on will-be-sick-if-I-don't eat form of hunger that was s big symptom of my first (unsuccessful) pregnancy. I am very happy to be feeling so pukey and in need of fuel every 3 hours :)

For those of you who have experienced symptoms like this early on did they continue weeks 8-13? With my mmc I thought the symptoms waned at 9 weeks (mmc at 10) but have looked at symptom diary I kept and actually I have written about some going around 8 weeks. At the time I googled this and had a choice of bad answer, which it turned out to be, or good answer, placenta is taking over which I really hoped for. I know everyone is different but did you feel your symptoms lessen in the last trimester when it was successful or did you continue with full on symptoms?

Pixielady83 · 05/02/2014 17:02

aoife I like your thinking with the maternity leave Smile and the snacks for cash also Grin

london my sickness got worse with all of my pregnancies at wk 8. With first it eased at 11 wks then cleared completely by 14 wks. With mmc again eased at 11wks. This time I can't really remember as it wasn't as bad as mmc pregnancy (ironic huh) but def better by 14/15 wks. in all pregnancies mine has always been a lot worse when I'm tired. For me there really wasn't any symptom distinction between my mmc pregnancy and my others unfortunately, sorry that's not very helpful is it... I think my body honestly thought it was still pregnant even though baby had gone at 8/9wks.

squizita · 05/02/2014 17:03

London I wasn't sick until week 7-8, now a week later blurgh. Apparently it peaks this week and then tails off... or so they say. Most women ('they' say) start to bloom after week 13 or 14 and not puke, as the placenta takes over. Mine stops and starts: yesterday I polished off lunch and dinner, today I vommed up lunch and am frantically chewing gum.

The non-scary diaries I would recommend are here on mumsnet and the NHS choices one. I'm sticking to them! :)

Pixielady83 · 05/02/2014 17:04

I'm getting tightenings this afternoon and needing the loo almost constantly as baby is pressing down so much. Feel like I've got period pains on and off too. I can't remember if this happened last time. I'm sure it doesn't mean anything, probably that I'm in for quite an uncomfortable 3/4wks to come but it has freaked me out a bit, really don't feel ready yet!

squizita · 05/02/2014 17:06

Aoife I went begging for crisps and chewing gum round the office today. Everyone was shocked as I have a reputation as a stern "food is for mealtimes" type at work! Grin Someone commented on my lunch being bland carbs ... trust me, they would NOT want to stand near me shortly after a chicken curry or tuna melt LOL!!

squizita · 05/02/2014 17:08

...OK think my colleague just guessed. She started talking about supervising a school event and me needing to sit down so she'd put me on a quiet duty because "you've had some hospital stuff lately". She's very trustworthy thank goodness!!! :)

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 05/02/2014 17:20

FGS! I've had a flipping headache all day. Sad I came home, had lunch, closed my eyes for an hour and have just woken up! Confused
I NEED that 'last weeks' energy! I need to clean the flipping house!
