Thanks baking and liesel I'm hoping it's nothing and I'm being a complete hypochondriac.

Good luck for today squiz Fx everything is ok

Pixielady83 · 04/02/2014 09:32

hi ladies just checking back in after a week off.

kjh hope things are ok, let us know how you get on. I have a friend who started contracting around 32 wks, had steroids etc but then went on to go overdue so it doesn't necessarily mean it's all going to kick off just yet. Important thing is to get fully checked out.
Welcome new ladies, so nice to see so many! good luck with the first weeks of symptom ups and downs, it feels like an eternity but it does pass Thanks

I'm 36 weeks and it's my birthday! had a lush weekend away in the lakes and ate far too much (still suffering indigestion today!) but loved the break. Second year running of pregnant birthday, next year I will be drinking a lot of champagne (hopefully) to make up for missing out on my 30th and 31st! feeling very grateful to be 30 wks more pregnant than this time last year though.

Really focused on enjoying the next few weeks rather than wishing to go into labour early as I have been recently. I don't get any unbroken sleep due to SPD now which is wearing me down but at least I can get some rest on days DD is at preschool.

Hope all the Feb and March ladies in waiting are doing ok- christine liesel guff rock saggy sorry if I've missed anyone expecting imminently!

fod27 · 04/02/2014 09:42

saggy sorry I meant to say that we should organise a mumsnet fb page, complete with scan pics, videos etc like the other grads have done - what do you think?

LondonJen · 04/02/2014 11:25

Blackholes and Pink lovely to hear of new arrivals :) And pleased to hear time goes quicker after 12 weeks Penguin I need to believe that!

I hope everyone who had a tough time yesterday is feeling a bit better. Handsfull and Baking you have made me think that the fact I never had a booking in appointment or received any communication whatsoever from the hospital after asking my dr to refer me for booking/scan in last pregnancy may have been a blessing in disguise. My first experience of midwives/hospital/drs was during mmc bang on 10 weeks. Sorry that doesn't help ease your hard time and maybe sounds a bit selfish. It must be very hard and you have my admiration as I am a bit eugh about just going to the drs to tell them I'm pg. This time I will be asking EXACTLY who I need to contact if I hear nothing again as last time I just got the run around. Rant!

Fingers crossed for your scan Squiz.

Kjh5 and NerdyBrd I hope you find reassurance from the medical peeps.

Happy Birthday Pixie! Your weekend sounds lovely I am quite jealous.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 04/02/2014 11:49

I think that sounds like a brilliant idea Fod. Shall I have a look at starting a group when I manage to prise the laptop off of DS later? Smile

HopefulHamster · 04/02/2014 11:56

Can I ask a slight panic question - did anyone have a dodgy tum rather than sickness in early pregnancy? Keep feeling like I need the loo, though no obvious tummy bug, and worried it means something bad, as whenever I get my period I normally get bowel issues.

I don't have any cramps though. :-/

LondonJen · 04/02/2014 12:32

Hi Hopeful, I can only tell you that I have needed to go more often though not had a dodgy tum as such. My guts are always growling and a bit painful at times like trapped wind x

Alb1 · 04/02/2014 12:37

Hopeful, pregnancy has made me develop really bad ibs so maybe it cud be somethin like that? Makes me stomach hurt quite a lot but not cramp...

Iv jus had really bad nausea up to now n then today suddenly being violently sick, at 10 weeks I was really hoping I'd escaped actually being sick, but no such luck

Pixielady83 · 04/02/2014 12:41

hopeful I have found my tummy has been upset at various points in the pregnancy, I think its the effect of hormones. Try not to worry unless you start to feel really ill Smile

Tomkat79 · 04/02/2014 12:41

hamster are you taking pregnacare vitamins? Finally realised they have been the cause of my shocking gastro probs for the last 20 odd weeks! Have switched brands and a lot better.

kjh5 · 04/02/2014 12:44

Thanks for all the good wishes and reassurance, just got home from the hospital, it turns out I'm the unfortunate recipient of some rather painful, rather strong braxton hicks, but that is all it is. Cervix is closed for business (thank goodness) so all is well and I don't need to worry about anything.

Feel a bit Blush about panic earlier but MW did say sometimes its hard to tell the difference between BH and early labour and I did the right thing going in esp I was such a prem baby myself.

Blood pressure was ridiculously high when I got there so she took it again before I left and asked if I'd hooked DH up to the machine when she wasn't looking as it was like measuring the BP of two different people.

Anyway - thanks for all being lovely,

Hoping Squiz is ok and everyone else is doing alright today!

jmf294 · 04/02/2014 12:54

Just wanted to come back to the thread to say hi and a bug welcome to the new ladies on the thread.
A special big hello to Aoife- I had often thought about you last year and wondered how you are. Have everything crossed for you that you are going to receive the most amazing 40th birthday present in Oct!

We have a grad Facebook group- one of the other ladies will be able to tell you how to join.
My little Alex is now 10 weeks old- not sure where the time had gone but he's just so lovely- I feel very blessed.

Good luck to all those with upcoming due dates- not long to go now. Xx

Aoifebelle · 04/02/2014 13:30

Ooooh another graduate. Hiya jmf. We will make it onto this mythical fb page ladies, you mark my words. So glad to hear you and baba are doing well. Not quite the 40th I had imagined, but would be the bestest present ever.

kjh sounds like you did exactly the right thing. Braxton hicks is two words on a piece of paper, how the feck are you supposed to know what they feel like. Could have been worse, you could have called an ambulance.

Pixielady83 · 04/02/2014 14:24

hi jmf glad to hear you and Alex are doing well! ooh this grads group sounds very exciting, would love to see how everyone is doing (and lovely baby pics! Grin )

kjh glad you're ok Smile definitely best to get checked out.

I have a line full of tiny baby gros! tis very exciting (and not a little scary! how was DD ever that small?!)

BobaFetaCheese · 04/02/2014 16:01

Another grad popping by (will put my namehange on the stats later on today) to say hope all is well Squiz

Happy Birthday Pixie! I've spent my last two pg as well, it's an odd feeling!

squizita · 04/02/2014 16:37

hopeful my digestion is all over the place! Think its hormones.

Scan and booking went well. I will have special RMC experienced midwives and docs, and extra scans. I self referred (when it was raised) to the pregnancy psychologist for appointment related anxiety.
Scan was an outside the fanny one. WooOO! And we saw a textbook 8-weeker looking like a cartoon of an embryo. What a relief.

bakingtins · 04/02/2014 16:40

squiz that's fab! I have been anxious on your behalf all day. Grin

bakingtins · 04/02/2014 16:42

KJH glad you are both ok. Take it steady for a few days!

Pentagon · 04/02/2014 16:44

Great news squiz - so happy for you!

Happy Birthday pixie! Is it actually today? It sounds like you had a great weekend! DD1's 3rd birthday was on Sunday but our weekend wasn't too good Sad

kjhyour blood pressure must have been high because you were so stressed/panicky. It's happened to me too. So glad everything is well!

LondonJen · 04/02/2014 16:46

Great to hear Squiz, really pleased for you & your text book 8 weeker! x

LondonJen · 04/02/2014 16:47

kjh what a relief that must be. I am quite sure I would not know the difference x

Aoifebelle · 04/02/2014 18:01

Woo hoo squiz. A no fanny scan, milestonetastic. I wonder now you are in virgin territory (so to speak) will your anxiety decrease? Such great news.

pgchimp · 04/02/2014 18:09

good news to gear from squiz and kjh.

All these newbies suggests a berg busy Christmas ABC hew year period for some!

Can I ask a PGP question from the sufferers on here? I have really bad hip pain but only when I am trying to sleep. I can get to sleep hut then wake up between 2 and 4 and really struggle to get back because of the pain in my hips. New mattress topper, pillows between legs and under hips don't seem to help. once I get up though, after some initial stiffness, I am fine and can walk around fine all day. is this PGP? Thanks

fod27 · 04/02/2014 18:22

Sounds like a fab idea saggy!!! Ooo getting excited now ;)

Pentagon · 04/02/2014 18:37

saggy, fod you must join us after you graduate though because we want to meet you and your babies!
