I don't know anything about Dopplers Alb, apart from they can make people panic when nothing is wrong! Nerdy I hope tomorrow is reassuring.

I just went to log bfp at doctors. I think some of the trauma of the mmc, erpc with ghastly anaesthetist ("are you here for your abortion?"), infection and long stay in a shoddy hospital got to me. I was shaking and couldn't stop crying for about 5 minutes. Poor guy, he was really nice and reassuring. The midwife will get me an early scan, because blimey, if anyone needs reassuring it's the madwoman blubbering at her gp. And now DH won't answer phone, so I'm telling you guys.

We must all wash our salads carefully, apparently.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 03/02/2014 17:05

Nerdy im 35 weeks on thursday. I can still wear my normal loose tops and was mooching about the house in normal trousers up to a month ago. Try not to worry. and be a little smug like me Wink Grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 03/02/2014 17:10

IRT dopplers, there's a lot of negativity about them on MN . As several midwife members have pointed out, there's more to it than hearing a heartbeat and other stuff that needs interpretation. Its worse at later stages apparently, when people miss something because they've heard a hb and end up in horrible situations, but in earlier days it can be distressing to not find a hb and then you panic. Its also quite easy to mistake your own hb or placental noises for a hb apparently.

Alb1 · 03/02/2014 18:10

Yeah I plan to get rid of it once I can feel the baby move, was jus hoping for a bit of early reassurance, but so far it's jus a waste of money, think il jus try again after the 12 week scan cos iv tried all the tricks n copying those whov made videos on how to find the hb n it's jus not workin, an I'm sick of listening to my own hb lol.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 03/02/2014 18:22

Aw David - sorry! Fingers crossed for you xxx posifrickintivity Flowers

handsfull - you poor thing, no wonder you felt so upset being back there- what a hideous thing that anaesthetist said Sad xxx

Well I thought I'd pop back to say hi and see how everyone is doing, as well as reassure some of you that there are lots of happy endings from this thread... As other grads have done. I really will bow out again now though. Good luck all x

Aoifebelle · 03/02/2014 19:18

Oh dear handsfull. It is really tough to have to go back to places and people that hold such sad memories. I am putting off making a gp appointment to get things rolling. Just think there will be a point you get past and it will all be new and fresh territory with no sad memories.

Penguinita · 03/02/2014 19:35

Hi to all the newbies! It is really fabulous to see you all here, there was obviously plenty of DTD going on about a month ago Grin I really feel for you all though, those first 12 weeks are soooo tough. Hope the lovely ladies on here can make it a bit easier for you.

Alb I got a Doppler but only at 14 weeks and even then it took me 10 mins each time to find the hb (when I could find it). Little bub is really far down at that point so make sure you check right down below your knicker line.

I'll be 24 weeks tomorrow, 60% down, 40% to go. Every day was an eternity until 12 weeks, now time is just flying and I'm wanting to slow it down as I'm not ready yet! Smile

Penguinita · 03/02/2014 19:42

Hi, thanks for popping in to cheer us all up and wish us luck! Glad that motherhood is going well Flowers

IBelieveInPink · 03/02/2014 20:19

Squiz. Jbrd, Aoife, lovely to see you back here. The girls said you were back and had to pop in to say heeeeeey, and wish you the very best of luck. I do hope all goes well for your pregnancies.

Mini pink is 12 weeks this week. After the LONGEST pregnancy ever you wouldn't believe how quick it's gone! Hope you are all getting on okay - one day at a time xx

Aoifebelle · 03/02/2014 20:36

Hiya IBIP, lovely to hear from you, so are you and blackholes and co conversing on another thread. It is so weird how events take you through different doors on mumsnet and into parallell worlds. I feel like I have come back to a reunion of a club that none of us wanted to be members of, but we are determined to make the best of it. Hope you and the baba are well.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 03/02/2014 20:44

God my brain is so frazzled from sleep deprivation I didn't even twig that some of you had sadly left but then returned- that's just amazing news xx

There is a grads thread but I haven't been on it really- just once or twice in the early days- so will try and get on there more xx

BlackholesAndRevelations · 03/02/2014 20:46

thank you xx

IBelieveInPink · 03/02/2014 20:46

We had a thread that a few of us were on, but have now graduated to a Facebook group! But is nice to check in and see how you ladies are all doing. :)

ChristineDaae · 03/02/2014 21:22

Evening all, still no movement from mini Christine Hmm Soo lookjng forward to joining that fb group of grads!!
Glad all of you in the early days are doing ok. I probably would bother with a Doppler early on, I honestly think that you will cause yourself a lot of worry more than comfort.

IBIP and blabkholes hello!!!!!!! Awww I love hearing baby news! Glad to see you and your babies are doing so well ;) it'd be fab to graduate to a fb page! Think of all the pictures!!

saggy think we should sort this out

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 03/02/2014 22:26

Sorted what out? Confused

JBrd · 03/02/2014 22:38

IBIP and blackholes - how lovely of you to pop back in and even lovelier that you remembered me! Feeling genuinely touched, it is so lovely to get all this support and cheering on while no one knows in RL
I so hope that I can join you on the grads thread in 8 months!

I have only told one close friend and am planning on tell another one next week when we meet for dinner. They are my NCT friends and have supported me through all my miscarriages. Not planning to tell anyone else, not even family, until I know that this is going somewhere.
My problem is that we'll be having a big family-do for MIL's 70th just when I'm going to be 12-13 weeks. Weekend away in a country house type of do. So either we will be able to add to the happy spirit of the party, or I will be shutting myself away upstairs in a room and wallow in my misery Sad

Had a wobble today when I picked up my 4th set of maternity notes from the GP. I had planned to re-use the ones from last time, but then remembered that I had actually made it to the booking appointment with that pregnancy, so the mw scribbled all over them. I cannot believe that I am going to have to fill these in for the 4th time. How is this possible! Statistically speaking, I am a freak - so few people apparently experience more than one mc. Whoever came up with that clearly has never been on MN.

NerdyBird · 04/02/2014 00:16

Pinky pale brownish discharge today. Was ok earlier in the day but checking when getting ready for bed there it was. I will obv tell midwife tomorrow, but I'm getting fed up of this now. I can't have a morning off every week for this, I just wish it would stop!

kjh5 · 04/02/2014 07:21

Morning all - just logging on to tap into some Mumsnet wisdom. I've woken up with some pretty painful period-like cramps with a definite contracting feel to them, and I've got myself in a blind panic! I'm pretty used to the odd cramp here and there but this feels different. I can feel the bubba moving around quite a bit having his usual kick about but I'm trying very hard not to get hysterical here. Called hospital and they said come in and get checked at the day assessment unit which opens at 9. Anyone about to tell me this is normal at 29 weeks and I'm being an idiot?

Aoifebelle · 04/02/2014 07:34

Hey JBd, I totally get how you feel about the notes. I am not looking forward to having that folder again. I am hoping it is a different colour at least. Also not looking forward to being asked over and over again about previous pregnancies. I am pretty sure there will be some shouting along the way. JUST READ THE FECKING NOTES. Sounds like we are in similar boats, I even have a family do at the beginning of june, my GIL 90th b'day. I will keep my fingers crossed for both of us.

Nerdybird it is good you have the midwife today, hopefully she will be able to reassure you. I had a friend who had one mc, and then bled thrugh her next 2 pregnancies, she said in the end she got used to it. Has two lovely kids now.

Squiz hope all goes well today. Sounds like you are getting really good care so hopefully you have tipped the odds in your favour this time. Please let us know how you got on. Will be thinking about you.

bakingtins · 04/02/2014 07:34

kjh hope you are ok. Try not to panic. I had this at 32 weeks with my first and turned out to be due to a UTI giving me "irritable uterus" I was having contractions which they measured on a CTG machine but they didn't open my cervix. They kept me in for a few days till it settled down so take an overnight bag. It was pretty scary, much talk of giving me steroids to mature his lungs etc, but it did all settle down and he sat tight until 40 weeks. Good luck and keep us posted.

bakingtins · 04/02/2014 07:44

jbrd know just how you feel about the forms. The number of times I've filled them in only to chuck them in the bin a week later Sad The MW spent most of my booking appt laboriously typing the info into the computer anyway, don't know why she couldn't just ask me the questions at the time and let me type it would be much quicker
Let's hope it's time well spent for you this time.

nerdy I have had bleeding and coloured discharge in every single pregnancy, including my 2 successful ones. I know it feels awful, but if it's just a tinge to your CM it's probably fine. Hope the MW can reassure you.

Lieslvontrapp · 04/02/2014 08:08

Welcome david! Congrats on your bfp. Hope it's a sticky one for you.

Hi to blackholes & pink! Nice to hear you're both doing well with your babies!

kjh no idea what your experiencing but you're doing the right thing by getting checked. Let us know how you get on.

Sorry to those that are having to go through booking in with lots of bad memories. Thanks

So christine you must be on the last wk of your final 2 wk wait now! I'll dig the stats out in preparation.

V nervous. Having a light day in terms of symptoms (still there, but not so apparent - which does happen with me) and booking in today. Erk.

Never got as far as booking in before so quite nervous. Scan afterwards, got to repress the superstition thinking it will jinx everything to have them together which I'm more nervous about. Going to ask about my prescription/dental card: convinced my GP didn't apply for them (they did the 1st time, had to send them back, but I got a bossy-but-inexperienced doc for my referrals this time and I bet she didn't get it right).
