Welcome Jen, this thread is great for support!
All - so happy for you that everything is well.

congratulations allis - you must be relieved - this is a good day and keep that positivity with you for as long as you can.

I've been lurking recently, popping in and out - but its been crazy at work so haven't had time to contribute.

Welcome to newbies - congrats on our BFPs and here's to smooth and uneventful pregnancies.

I've reached the 24 week mark - phew - blimey this is a long pregnancy but I'm finally beginning to enjoy it - the little one moves about quite a bit so it is giving me lots of reassurance.

Hope everyone has relaxing weekends xx

squizita · 01/02/2014 09:20

Hi - quick 'practical' question. As I'm on a repeat prescription i was rather expecting my NHS card for free medication to have come through. In the past they've always come through about week 6 and had to be sent back the next week sadly. I'm now coming up for week 8 and my booking in is next week.
I'm more than happy to spend my fortnightly £7.99 (let's face it in America I'd be spending my life savings on the same meds) but was just wondering if my useless GP admin team had forgotten to send something off.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 01/02/2014 09:38

Squiz id jyst tick the exempt box and hand it over. I didn't get my card for aages!

Aoifebelle · 01/02/2014 09:44

Hey squiz, was wondering how far on you were. 8 weeks! Congrats. I think i may copy you and leave the booking in til later. Hope you are feeling well.

Pentagon · 01/02/2014 10:13

I've just read the last 15 pages of this thread after being absent for a couple of weeks. I was wondering why all of kat's posts had been deleted and then saw what happened - I am shocked. Some people have no shame. Kat I hope you're still reading and find a way to come back to us

Too much has happened to name check everyone but a big welcome to all the newbies and congratulations on all the good scans (so many! such a joy to read) Aoife, JBrd and squizI am especially happy to see you again on this thread - all the best for your pregnancies!!

baking you're 22 weeks, yay!! Where has the time gone?

christine good luck, not long now; and liesl you're next! Then so many babies due in March - it'll be an exciting month!

We're OK, Elsie is 3 months old, sleeping well and a good baby on the whole. DD1 was a bit of a nightmare for a while but she has got a lot better recently - and she's potty trained now (yay! at last!) just in time for her 3rd birthday which is tomorrow.

big hugs to you all! x

LondonJen · 01/02/2014 10:52

Thank you for the welcomes :) Reading parts of your stories here is inspirational. Getting through anxious times when it's not easy to keep sane is what I hope to be able to do too.

I am already driving myself bonkers and I am only 4 weeks in. This last week I have had so many symptoms. I did with the first pregnancy as well and then those symptoms started to wane around 9 weeks (mmc was at 10 weeks). A little part of me hoped that my next pregnancy would be different so that it felt quite distinct from last time but so far I am having the same full on experience of physical symptoms so I am already fretting about the next 8 weeks and the pattern repeating. But I am fortunate to have fallen again so soon and that is what I need to remember.

Deep breaths! I am pregnant today. I love that! Trying hard to stay in the moment. I'm planning to distract myself with some beginners making kits -today my sock monster kit arrived! Next week, knitting!

fod27 · 01/02/2014 12:10

Welcome london stay positive, lots of fab women on here that offer lots of hand holding xx

Ok ladies - 34weeks in I've been having a dull ache like pain in my lower back and it's slowly making it's way round to the front - currently going through the - is it labour isn't it labour ohhh crap phase!

HopefulHamster · 01/02/2014 13:44

Hi all,

I have tested positive after fertility treatment and am absolutely panicking - about 4.5 weeks now. I had a miracle natural pregnancy last year and miscarried around 7/8 weeks (I think I have blocked out the exact details), so it was very early but I still found it very upsetting.

I like this thread and the motto 'today we are pregnant' but I am finding it hard to take it to heart.

I am panicking because I have no symptoms today - I feel totally a-okay normal, and this is how I felt before my miscarriage. The days previously I have been very tired and had sore boobs. Today, nothing!

I know this might be normal given the stage I'm at, but I'm panicking. Just sheer dread running through me :(.

slight namechange so this info won't be found if people I know recognise me on the other name! I'll change to my proper name if I ever get to 12 weeks.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 01/02/2014 14:03

AARGH! it might be! Christine will be well pissed if you lap her by 7 weeks! Confused

Seriously though, it might be anything. If baby is engaged that can feel weird, it could be spd related, you might just be sitting wrong. Wait it out and see. If you are at all worried about anything, ring L&D. x

LondonJen · 01/02/2014 14:05

Hi Hopeful

Congratulations on your bfp. I empathise re your anxiety. I just tested poistive myself after mc in Oct. Yesterday I didn't like how normal I was feeling as symptoms were being very quiet but right now I am just sitting watching a film and the room is spinning!

I like to think that the hormones are not continually increasing at such an intense rate that I am able to pick up on it through physical symptoms but rather doing it in spurts and then having a rest inbetween! That helps me when my boobs seem to not be as tender one morning. Or maybe it sounds a bit mad?!

I just really wanted to say you're not alone and I too love the moto. I am trying very hard to stay in the moment. I hope you can too. Can you distract yourself with doing something like baking or try to enjoy a film? I know it's easier said than done but I am hoping that if I can get the hang of distracting myself I will get better at doing that through what will hopefully be a long and happy next few months.

Big hugs x

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 01/02/2014 14:07

Hamster its totally normal. Read back through the thread, we all feel that way. It's that nature of the beast. Its very hard to relax after mc. Its why we all come here to unload. For me, seeing the stats list and the list of lovely new babies always buoyed me up. Smile
Today we are pregnant helps us embrace and accept that we just have to wait and to take things one day at a time. Smile {{have a hug}}

LondonJen · 01/02/2014 14:14

Hi Fod, thank you, already appreciating it. Sorry I can't help with your question but I hope you can get comfy whilst you're figuring it out!

HopefulHamster · 01/02/2014 15:03

Thanks everyone. I did start crying when 'She's like the Wind' came on after I posted, so maybe that's a good sign, as Swayze doesn't usually reduce me to tears :)

Handsfullandlovingit · 01/02/2014 20:38

Hello. Might I tentatively join you? I have had a bfp. Wibble. I have 2 small dcs and since ds was born I have lost 1 at 5 weeks and a rather awful mmc at 12 weeks in October. Baby died at 9.

My mission for this pregnancy is to treasure every moment and not waste what could again be a heartbreakingly short pregnancy worrying. I felt so guilty that I didn't spend enough time thinking about the last lost baby, rushing round being a working mum. This one may only be a ball of cells but I am loving it already and putting it in God's hands.

According to the mumsnet due date calculator this one may arrive 5 October, just before my birthday.

GuffSmuggler · 01/02/2014 21:11

Hi gang,

Am back after a bit of a break, trying to catch up and hope everyone is doing ok. Welcome to the new people, hope you have smooth easy pregnancies.

I see santa and pumpkin had their babies whilst I was away, such fantastic news, congrats to you both! Hopefully some more news soon christine....

So I feel like I'm heading towards the end of this long, rollercoaster of a journey - will be 36 weeks next week. Can't believe it, am getting more and more terrified about the birth and coping with a newborn but also so excited that I can just about begin to believe we're nearly there!!

bakingtins · 01/02/2014 21:28

Oooh - just bought a replacement pushchair chassis on ebay toddler plus heavy shopping bumping up our steps proved too much for the previous one how posifrickingtive am I being?

allisgood1 · 01/02/2014 21:50

Yay! Lots of newbies! I hope you all stay :)

squiz How are you my symptomless buddy?

I am feeling a ton better about things still. I have not felt sick today really but I fancy nothing to eat, and not eating makes me go queasy so I am all over the place. I really cannot think of one thing I want to eat! Lemon water is going down well though.

Question: I am drinking loads but not weeing. When I do wee, there isn't much. It doesn't hurt really but burns after. I have also been having some pain very low but they could be stretching too. Is something up? I have had a 200ml carton of apple juice and half a pint of water and wee'd very little just now.

squizita · 01/02/2014 21:56

All had a reassuring bit of food aversion. Out with DH, suddenly ravenous/queasy so we went to a noodle bar. Ate about 1/4 of mine and was completely full and queasy (NOT like me, usually I'm like "just back the chow mein truck up to my table and I'll open my mouth!!") then forced DH to finish it because it was really nice, just me not able to finish! He didn't complain. Grin I have been crazy thirsty some days and weeing loads others, I think the body retains water when it needs it/the hormones. But if it burns maybe see GP, you don't want an infection on top of everything.

Baking Exciting :) Posifrickintabulous!

SuzyBean · 01/02/2014 23:08

Hello ladies can I join you. I got my bfp a week ago and just about believe it enough now to join in!
I have one DS who is 4.5 and I had a mmc at 11 weeks in Feb 2013. So it's taken a year to conceive and I can't quite believe it's finally happened! I'm about 5 and a half weeks and getting lots of symptoms so I'm trying to feel positive.

SuzyBean · 01/02/2014 23:10

Ps Handsfull great to see you on here Smile

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 01/02/2014 23:22

Guff! where have you BEEEEN?
Welcome to the madhouse Suzy. Smile

Lieslvontrapp · 02/02/2014 06:11

Great scan news allis! If you've got a painful burning then sounds like a uti.

Nice to see you blackberry! Hope your ok and out of hospital. Hopefully you can take it easier and work from home a bit?

Welcome londonjen, hopeful, handsful & suzy! Sorry for your previous losses but congrats on your bfps.

Hi pentagon glad to hear you and Elsie are doing well!

Welcome back guff! Yep you're nearly there!

JBrd · 02/02/2014 08:29

Hello, fellow newbies! Glad to see I'm not the 'youngest' on here anymore, filling up quickly Grin

I'm 5 weeks today. Starting to think if I want an early scan or not... In two minds about it.
Of course I want to know if I have a live bean in there, BUT on the other hand, if it turns out I don't, I don't want to have to sit around and wait for things to happen, like last time. It was awful. My EPU here is so hands-off, they always want to try the natural route first.

Sorry for being gloomy. I just wish I had some symptoms, grrrr. All I get at the moment is a little queasiness in the mornings, which might well be self-induced.
