Hello ladies! Come and find me! Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
keepitgoing · 24/03/2014 20:42

sweetie the early ones yes. feed and down in 10 mins, bit of shuffling. later ones take longer and after 5 I usually have to bring her in with me to stop her thinking it's morning...

sorry E is off colour. hopefully will be just short term. fwiw kip poos every 3 days or so mostly now Shock which is normal for bf not sure about ff. if she is grumpy I usually think she's tired and try to get another nap in. wasvit just today? must be so hard with 2. but Envy of your mum being nearby x
oh, or she could be getting to the dreaded 4 month leap/regression... der der der...

SweetieTime · 24/03/2014 21:36

Keep it is good that kip settles well at the early feed

I don't think E is ill, she has only been like this for a couple of days so I am hoping it will pass. I cannot believe kip only poos every 3 days!! But if that is normal for her. Both E & F go every day at least once normally so not to go for a day is very unusual. We are very lucky that DTs are settled at night so it is in the day that we have the problems. I think it might be a leap rather than the 4 month regression as that only effects sleep doesn't it?

Shazzamattazzerly · 24/03/2014 23:15

Sweetie I hope E is feeling better shazlett is also crying a lot these past few days. She has also gone down to a poo every couple of days although today she did 2 huge ones but no leaks thankfully. I'm sorry you are feeling upset. It must be daunting if you are completely on your own. If both DTs need you at once it must be exhausting.

Keep Im sorry you are also up In The night but I must admit to being grateful that it's not just me. I'll be thinking of you tonight.

Onion good plan to go to bed early. Stupidly I'm still up and shazlett has been down for a couple of hours already. DP gave her a bottle so I'm expressing as I missed a feed. It won't be a full expression cause I can't be arsed. I'm too tired. We did nap today skin to skin. We both had our dressing gowns on and had them open so that she could lay on my tummy but still be warm wrapped in her dressing gown. It is very cute, has her name on it. It was a present from my friend.

We had such a lovely afternoon. Shazlett nursed well. Even 13 mins on one side which was amazing. She had a nice sleep as well. I'm going to make time every week to have a little time skin to skin. I loved having her little body cuddling into me.

In other news our offer was accepted on the bungalow today!

fairypangolin · 25/03/2014 09:30

sweetie my understanding is that the 4 month sleep regression happens because they have a leap in mental awareness of their surroundings. They are not able to switch off and when they wake up partially at the end of each sleep cycle they can't just doze off again the way they did when younger. So E could be experiencing the awareness leap without the impact on her sleep being obvious. Whatever it is it will pass although it is bad timing without either your DM or DH to help!

Ginestas · 25/03/2014 10:43

sweetie I rely heavily on my parents and I only have the 1 baby to look after! Ginster has started to only have 30 min naps in the day now. She used to go for hours! As fairy has said, it's like she can't get through to the next sleep cycle. She also has to be push chaired or fed to sleep and gets hysterical if I don't do this every 1.5-2 hrs. It's hard work but I'm hoping she'll eventually make the connection between being tired and sleeping - she seems to at night! It's exhausting and why parental help has been so important to me! I do love our awake times though and I got some beautiful smiles and a big throaty, unlady like laugh yesterday :)

shazz so pleased yesterday went well. I love my baby's skin too. I sometimes feel a little sad that as a winter baby I don't get to see it much!

keep we have poos every 2-3 days too. There are frickin massive and normally explode out of the nappy!

motor hope all is still well with you and mini m.

Things are so hectic that I rarely have time to MN now, so apologies for the long silences. Hope those expecting are all well! Enjoy your bumps - I'm already nostalgic for mine, even though all I did was moan at the time!

keepitgoing · 25/03/2014 13:16

gin glad things are a bit easier. kip was Queen of 30 min naps for a bit but recently we've had some longer ones and a few, wait for it, in the COT. I think if she's too tired or I time it wrong they are 30, but if the stars align I get 90 and then a v happy baby

sweetie how is e today?

shaz any better night?

have been to our music class this am Grin

SweetieTime · 25/03/2014 20:52

Keep much better day today. E has been very sleepy today so I do think something is going on but at least she hasn't been so unsettled. I spoke to a friend too who reassured me as I felt quite low yesterday about things.
How was the music class, what did you do? We do singing at Childrens Centre. F seems to love it and had a tambourine this week!!

Gin we are so lucky to have help, I can do it myself but it is so much easier with another pair of hands. I also find it lonely on my own, I am not good in my own company. Glad you have the RL support too.

thanks for you support, it really means a lot

Shazzamattazzerly · 26/03/2014 07:32

How are your eyes Sweetie? Glad you have a supportive friend.

We had 2 wakings after going to bed at 8. 1.30 and 5 so not too bad. I'm typing this and she is twisting to see the screen. I swore that I'd keep her away from screens for as long as poss. That is proving to be hard as clearly it's all going in.

Im going to the milk spot today to have her weighed and to discuss feeding. I've got to get out of this worry cycle.

Hope everyone else is ok.

keepitgoing · 26/03/2014 12:00

good that e is on the up. kip is sleepier than usual too but maybe that's just from the crappy nights Smile our music class there is singing dancing and playing with instruments. love it. though the group of mums with 6mo still have crap sleep Shock except the ff one

shaz good luck with the weighing. I'm going to try and go too, we've not been in over a month. wonder what crappy advice we'll be given this time Wink

sweetie I know what you mean about your own company. I try and do something every day. esp when dh works till 9 or 10... else I'd go mad. do the twins entertain each other? that must be good. I find kip is not that into other babies yet. but does love the baby in the mirror Grin

Shazzamattazzerly · 26/03/2014 20:20

Keep shazlett loves the mirror too ! It really makes her laugh. It's so cute.

Your music class sounds brilliant. Do you have to pay for it ? I've only been doing free things.

The weigh in was good. Shazlett has gained 400 g in 3 weeks. The MW is so supportive and assured that she is fine and I mustn't worry anymore. I feel much more positive. She said that I should stop the 2 hr feeds and reconnect with shazlett's feeding cues. She thinks that she is only feeding for a couple of mins because she isn't hungry. If I let her get hungry in her own time then she will probably feed for longer. But she did agree with you all that as they get older they are more efficient at feeding.

Shazlett is already asleep so I think that I will probably be up a couple of times in the night. The MW thinks that she might be in a growth spurt hence the waking to feed at night. Ironic that I've been desperate to feed her often during the day but am less keen to keep up the schedule at night Smile

SweetieTime · 26/03/2014 20:33

Shazza eyes are no better. I rang the hospital to chase up my next appointment. Apparently I am on the waiting list but no appointment yet. I explained my situation and they said my GP needs to write a expedite letter to fast track me. So I spoke to them and they are going to do that.
Well done on the weight gain, hope you have an easy night.

Keep music class sounds great, I bet F would love it. E slept through music time at this weeks Childrens Centre. She was in the middle of the music mat and all the other kids sat around her singing and banging instruments - she didn't wake up!!!
DTs don't entertain each other yet, they don't really seem to look at each other but do touch each other a lot. F was sucking E head last night and E is always sucking F fingers if she ever gets the chance. E seems to wriggle close to him in the cot too.

I am not sure DTs will sleep through tonight as DH has to set of at 4am for a 9am meeting darn sarf. So I think him leaving will disturb them and they will want feeding. I can cope with feeding them both on my own, I have had to do it before. Although I prefer it when DH is here to help of course.

Shazzamattazzerly · 27/03/2014 04:07

Sweetie I'm sorry your eyes are no better. How awful for you. You are coping marvellously. Fingers crossed the GP writes the letter quickly and they get you an appt. with the DTs to look after it's imperative that you get some answers. The DTs sound so cute together. They must have such a bond.

I'm up for the 2nd time so far. I knew this would happen though cause she zonked out so early at about 7.15ish last night

Shazzamattazzerly · 27/03/2014 12:16

Pleased to report a 45 min nap in the cot. Disturbed only by DP forgetting she was in there and rushing in.

keepitgoing · 27/03/2014 13:49

sweetie that's amazing she stayed asleep. kip never would. perhaps that's the thing at night too she's just a light sleeper

yes shaz we pay for it. there's a free music class here but not as good. and packed!!

sweetie I'm so sorry your eyes are still bad. are you driving yet?

MrsHY1 · 27/03/2014 13:57

Ooh bugger I never look at this thread anymore and now realise I've missed masses!! Will try to catch up when I'm on hols. Smile

keepitgoing · 28/03/2014 08:42

can I just say that I am madly in love with my baby Smile Smile Smile

SweetieTime · 28/03/2014 15:43

aw keep that is lovely. I can't wait to meet her

Shazzamattazzerly · 29/03/2014 04:16

Oh Keep that is so cute! I know what you mean. Sometimes the emotion just overwhelms you doesn't it?

I hope everyone is ok.

All fine here. We are gearing up for the open house sale which is on the 5th. Apparently 4 potential buyers are signed up already. Fingers crossed they want to buy our little flat. It's all happening so fast I can hardly believe it. I'm excited though. I will be sad to leave da hood. I've made some lovely friends in the past couple of months. And also the fabulous Sarf London Yonis of course. I'll have to come to London to join a meet up. At least I'm nearer to Keep in the Midlands. And of course ever so slightly nearer to our friends in the North Smile.

Shazzamattazzerly · 01/04/2014 02:11

Just writing a quick post so that I don't lose the thread from my 'I'm on' threads.

How is everyone? I'm not sure if there is anyone left on this thread who isn't on Fb?

Anyway all good here.i hope you all had a good Mother's Day. I was lucky enough to have a super one. Mil stayed in the evening and she went home yesterday. My Olds come on Wednesday to help with final prep for Saturday. Gin how are you getting along for your sale on Saturday?

Shazzamattazzerly · 03/04/2014 18:37

Is anyone left out there or have we officially migrated?

Ginestas · 04/04/2014 21:32

I'm here Shazz! Still reading but struggling to find time to post...

Hope everyone's well.

Shazzamattazzerly · 04/04/2014 21:55

Gin! Lovely to hear from you. All good in the northern badlands? I think we have mostly migrated now. But I'm fond of this thread. Smile

chocolocodowninacapulco · 05/04/2014 07:50

I'm here Shazz! 20 week scan on Tuesday and really excited! How's everything going with the house?

keepitgoing · 05/04/2014 10:42

wow choco that's great. are you going to find out the sex? I bet girl...

all good here except I am flipping exhausted and keep crying. I must have broken my baby somehow her sleep is do bad. she can only settle via boob. last night dh spent 1,75 hours settling her... Sad somehow when we get up she is super smiley. I am not.......

Shazzamattazzerly · 07/04/2014 01:17

Oh keep poor you. It's exhausting. No wonder you are teary. You haven't broken her unfortunately we are finding out that this is normal it's to varying degrees but everyone who is ahead of us have told us that all their babies lost their sleep patterns at this age. Shazlett was sleeping for 7-8 hours every night and now I'm up at least 3 times every night. Was DH settling kip with no milk?

Chocco woohoo 20 weeks is fantastic! I just loved being preggers and really miss it sometimes. It almost seems like a dream now. Are you on FB? Whereabouts do you live?

Hello to everyone else.
