Bloody autocorrect.

MotorcycleMama · 17/03/2014 22:24

Thanks everyone, for wise words and support. Big thanks for popping in brooker - really appreciated.
I was given propesse at lunchtime, and now in significant discomfort, mainly in my back and pelvis. TENS machine is helping a bit, but Im not sure how I will rest/sleep as I am not comfortable lying down. Won't be examined again until lunchtime tomorrow - I think they are stalling as the delivery unit is full. Will keep you posted. X

Thinking of you Motor. After sweetie saying about photos I looked at shazlett's birth pics yesterday which made me nostalgic for a newborn so I watched one born every minute on iplayer! It brought it all back. Good luck. We are waiting for news of another Yoni baby.

fairypangolin · 18/03/2014 07:17

Hi motor hope your night went well and the baby is on its way!

Oh good lock motor. I wish I had checked this thread a few days ago as I could have said TAKE THE BLOODY EPIDURAL. DO NOT HAVE SYNTOCIN (I.e., the devil's own juice) WITHOUT IT.

keepitgoing · 19/03/2014 12:09

Motor popping in for news, hope all is going ok. thinking of you lovely

Shazzamattazzerly · 21/03/2014 08:08

Morning ladies

Congrats Motor! Gorgeous pic on FB.

Well shazlett was knackered after our pubby afternoon and slept for nearly 10 hours! She took ages to go to sleep though and was quite teary early evening. I'm trying to express now while DP has her for abit.

I'm feeling abit overwhelmed at the moment with trying to sell this place, sort out the mortgage, buy a new house and organise the teacher training on top of looking after shazlett. Especially as she is having a tricky time not wanting to be put down and always be with me. Still it's nearly the weekend so DP will be at home and that makes things easier.

Sweetie I meant to ask how are your eyes? Have you had anymore appts?

Onion how is ringlet of an evening now?

I hope everyone is ok. Another lovely sunny day here. I'm supposed to be going back into town to have lunch with a friend but that feels abit much and I'm teetering on the edge of cancelling. I feel bad to cancel but it's a 2 hour round trip for us and frankly that feels abit too much today.

Have a good day everyone.

OnionRing · 21/03/2014 13:32

It is overwhelming but also has it's own momentum. Get a good lawyer though as that makes all the difference. We paid more but got a local solicitor recommended by our estate agent and she was brilliant. She smoothed loads of potential hitches and discovered all sorts of problems that needed indemnity policies.

It will all be worth it in the end!

Ringlet is full of cold so we had a bad night. We are now both in bed, she's snoozing next to me. I can't wait for my lie in tomorrow though. I am convincing myself to spend any free time reading and resting rather than doing DIY but I am oppressed by jobs that need doing!

MotorcycleMama · 21/03/2014 15:32

Hi all,
Sorry for silence - everything is a bit upside down at the moment.
Minimotor is a gorgeous boy, born 20.56 19th March, weighing 7lb 12.
Induction commenced lunchtime 17th March with propesse pessary which kicked off quite painful, regular contractions but cervix was being very slow to dilate. To cut a long story short I was moved to the delivery unit lunchtime on the 19th March where I had epidural and then syntocin drip (thank you to all who advised requesting it in that order!). I dozed on and off throughout my labour (yes, really) and then the pushing stage lasted all of 20 minutes before he made his lovely entrance into the wide world. I was so relieved and delighted to find that the epidural and syntocin part of the induction was the most pleasant part of the whole process, and nothing like I feared.
Unfortunately Minimotor is now on NICU due to possible infection and low blood sugar. I am unable to visit him as I am being barrier nursed due to a possible infection (which I'm sure I don't have as I feel fine). I am expressing milk to be taken to him. I just keep hoping he will come back any minute and that there is nothing really wrong with him. He had been breastfeeding up til transfer this morning, and looked pretty well to my untrained eye.
DH is being a wonderful support. Life is all a bit on hold until DS is back where he belongs - with me.
Sorry for me, me, me. I will read back and be sociable when I get chance.
X

keepitgoing · 21/03/2014 16:04

congratulations motor! glad the induction was OK. I'm so sorry to hear he's in nicu, hope it's a very short stay. what infection do they think you have?
glad dh is being good Smile and well done on the expressing. must be so hard not to be with him but at least dh can be. x

keepitgoing · 21/03/2014 16:05

has your milk come in already?

MotorcycleMama · 21/03/2014 18:45

Hi keep they haven't even taken a sample to check if I do have an infection, they are just presuming that I do because I have diarrhoea. I have said that I feel fine and just think it is a side effect of the antibiotics they prescribed me as I had a raised temp through labour and after the birth. Very frustrating as they say I cannot see him until I have been symptom free for 48 hours, so I won't be able to see him for another two days at least. It is heartbreaking to be without him. On the plus side, I am top of the waiting list for a side room, which would make life slightly easier.
My milk hasn't yet come in, so I am just expressing colostrum in painfully small amounts, but it is important I keep doing it to ensure milk does come in soon. I am dreading it as I know the hormonal surge that accompanies it could be very difficult to bear in the circumstances.
DH has reported back that minimotor's blood sugar levels are back to normal which is positive.
onion you must use your lie-in to rest and read! I hope you and ringlet feel better soon.

chocolocodowninacapulco · 21/03/2014 18:55

Congratulations motor, so happy for you that minimotor has arrived and really hope you will be able to see him really soon, sounds tough xx

resipsa · 21/03/2014 19:44

Motor - congrats! Wow, you've done it. Sorry he's not with you but hope that's soon resolved and once he's with you the time apart will be swiftly forgotten.
PS Sleep while you can; seriouslyWink.

OnionRing · 21/03/2014 21:34

Good to hear from you and sorry he's in NICU, I hope it's quickly sorted and he's back with you soon.

OnionRing · 21/03/2014 21:36

And yes, sleep while you can!

keepitgoing · 22/03/2014 07:30

glad his sugars are normal now Smile ah yes the hormone surge with the milk is crazy. that was the day we were readmitted for jaundice... I was crying like a loon but also aware of being loony iykwim.
hope dh is cuddling for the both of you. and bringing pictures. it must be tortuous not being allowed to go there, xxx

sleep what is that Wink
