Hello ladies! Come and find me! Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ceara · 11/03/2014 18:08

foody wow, 26 weeks, a milestone reached. I can't believe you are managing to keep the sex secret.

shazz how exciting. Fingers crossed on your offer. Dormer bungalows of that age are usually generously proportioned and solid so can understand the potential you are seeing in it.

motor glad all went OK today, I hope it gets things moving along for you.

SweetieTime · 12/03/2014 19:32

I had lost you from my current threads. Just shows how long since I last posted Blush

Motor it won't be long now, I really feel for you as those last few days/weeks are really tough. You just want it all to be over and enjoying the newborn snuggles.

Shazza exciting times for you my dear, I hope the offer is accepted. I will be keeping everything crossed for you.

I have taken DTs for 12 week jabs today, they have been asleep all afternoon and have just gone to bed. It is really tough hearing them scream their little heads off. The nurses who run the baby clinic are very unsympathetic to poor little ones. I suppose they have to be to do the job.
Tomorrow we have to take E back to the hospital for her hips scanning for breachness or whatever. I am sure all will be ok and it is just routine. DH has the day off so we may go for a walk afterwards if the weather is as nice as it has been.

keepitgoing · 13/03/2014 12:41

sweetie I hope all is OK with the hips today, sure it will be

gah. last night after 2.30 feed kip wouldn't ho back down. she's always easy to resettle but I could tell she wanted to be asleep but couldn't somehow manage it. brought her in with me eventually but o don't sleep well. really hoping it's a one off. even though she wakes a couple of times it's always been quick to go back yo sleep.

go motor!!

Shazzamattazzerly · 14/03/2014 02:56

Hello ladies
I'm here, just preoccupied with bungalow, mortgage, teacher training and shazlett had jabs yesterday. And I'm trying to clean to get this place ready to market. Luckily DP is st home this week and e have been working together. Everything is changing at once. Overwhelming but exciting. Offer no2 is in on the 'ranch ' as DP calls it. So we are waiting......

Keep hope Kip's restlessness was a one off. How is tonight ?

Sweetie don't worry about e's hip scan. Shazlett had to have one as they heard a click. It was when she was tiny and it was hard to see her on a hospital bed even though it was only a scan. Goodness knows how the mothers have coped with babies in hospital. It's heartbreaking. Shazlett's hip was ok in the end but I had clucky hips as a baby and wore a special molded nappy so even if there is an issue the dr will sort it out. We also had jabs yesterday. I stayed in for these. I talked to shazlett and explained to her what was going to happen. The nurse was so kind and told us of a mum who asked her to show the baby the needle and the mum explained to him what was going to happen. She said that it was amazing and the baby didn't cry at all she let me do this with shazlett and didn't think I was weird. Shazlett did cry abit but only for a few seconds. I was so proud of her. I hope the DTs have a good night.

Motor fingers crossed. It is so exciting. In just days you will be holding mini motor. I envy you those magical moments. They are so wonderful. The whole thing is wonderful.

Onion you make it all sound so lovely. You are my relocation heroine. We are excited. Apparently there are a few interested parties so we have to fight for it.

Ceara you are right the bungalow feels solid. We looked at some new builds and they didn't feel that way even though they had an en suite Smile.

I nearly forgot our big news. Shazlett rolled over on Tuesday! She was in her tummy and I was already shocked cause suddenly she doesn't mind tummy time and was pushing up with her hands and her head was. 90 degrees. ( so don't worry all those whose HVs keep asking about tummy time. They get there in the end). Anyway suddenly she swung her hips and rolled over. I was so surprised and she looked thrilled once she realised how happy I was. I got my video. (Thought of you expat my fellow documenter!) and captured the next attempt. I couldn't have been prouder.

Anyway she is asleep now so must go back to sleep myself.

Hope everyone else is ok. Xx

keepitgoing · 14/03/2014 11:04

multiple wake ups but she resettled after short feeds. very farty so maybe it's that

motor how was yesterday's sweep?

keepitgoing · 14/03/2014 11:10

shaz great news on the rolling and Grin at explaining to the baby sceptical having said that I tend to keep up a running commentary yo kip not thinking she'll understand but I think listening is good

we joined the library yesterday and I got a v simple book on baby signing. might give it a whirl. kip was sitting on my lap nosying around as usual and the lady said oh she's lovely kip then right on cue voms up a load of cottage cheese!

on that note she was vomming quite a bit the last couple of days. mostly clear with cottage cheese, quite a while after feeds. guess it's stomach acids with old milk but should I worry? happy and normal other than that.

MotorcycleMama · 14/03/2014 12:30

Hi all,
Sweep showed subtle progress with cervix, but no dilation, so booked in for another tomorrow. Had very strong BH on and off through the night and was in considerable discomfort so thought maybe things were kicking off, but as usual, all quiet and calm now. I will try and bounce and walk as much as possible today, though have promised to make DH onion bhajis (great HF-W recipe) to go with Indian takeaway for his 40th birthday which is today.
I just went to visit a couple from our NCT class who had their little boy 12 days ago - it was lovely to have a cuddle (with the baby, that is..) They live 5 mins walk from ours, so will be good to have as companions.
Wow shazza - you don't do change by halves, do you? So exciting! Great news re shazlett's strength and agility.
Will be fascinated to hear more about baby signing keep. A recurring nightmare of mine is having a baby who can articulate though.. In the dreams, the baby is always hyper-critical "you clearly don't know what you're doing" etc!!
How was the appt sweetie?
How are you doing ceara?

keepitgoing · 14/03/2014 12:50

good idea to cuddle a newborn motor! am hoping they were contractions not BH. Grin Grin at critical babies. they sometimes look at you like wtf woman, entertain me better than that!! Grin

Shazzamattazzerly · 15/03/2014 03:20

Well done motor hang in there only a couple of days to go. Grin. Didn't cuddling a newborn start things off for you Keep?

How was your move Keep? Are you getting sorted? With all this sunshine at least you can show off your bronzed body.

It is all abit overwheimg chez shaz at the moment but at least it will be all the changes at once. Excitement about the ranch means that the fact that it isn't in London has been forgotten a bit. Having a great property to buy and do up has made moving exciting. Also this will be DPs first purchase so even more exciting.

Sweetie how was the appt ? We had 4 post jab toxic poonamis yesterday. 3 changes of clothes and a bath! The nurse had warned us that it would happen and to be careful whilst changing her because the poo contains the live virus. Gross.

OnionRing · 15/03/2014 10:45

I've never heard that before about viruses in poo shazz. I'm still crossing my fingers re the ranch.

motor I'm a bit sorry you didn't have the baby on DP and my birthdays. It's a fine date. Sounds like things are happening though... I cuddled a new born when I was about 30 weeks pregnant with dd1 and I started lactating! It was very odd.

SweetieTime · 15/03/2014 13:41

Shazza we have just had 12 week jabs and were told the same. We have had some very explosive nappies since so I have been super careful with hand hygiene. Twins didn't have any other symptoms post jabs so I am very relieved.

Motor hoping everything is moving very soon for you

Keep how is kip settling into the new house? is she still wakeful at night? do you think it is jetlag or sleep regression?

All these amazing rolling babies, they are really all coming on so fast now. I cannot believe it is only weeks since they were still inside us. Those days seem ages ago now.

E hip scan was totally normal so she is discharged. She is kicking away on the mat as I type so I didn't think there was much wrong with her. I think she is practicing to be some sort of dancer, cyclist or athlete the way she is going for it at the moment.

Shazzamattazzerly · 15/03/2014 16:57

Good news about E's hip sweetie. Having shazlett inside me seems so far away.

We are having a family nap. Well dp is napping. I've just fed shazlett and she is currently wriggling on me trying to get comfy.

MotorcycleMama · 16/03/2014 06:32

Had 3rd sweep yesterday, but still no progress. The mw I saw was very encouraging and reassuring though, which has made me feel less scared of induction tomorrow. DM coming today, and will stay as long as needed- I don't really want DH to use up his pat leave sitting around with me in hospital for (potentially) days waiting for things to happen, but I do want company.
I have become very vigilant and worried about foetal movements. Baby always hits the 10 movements in 2 hours, but the nature of the movements has changed considerably over the past couple of weeks. I'm presuming that is because there is less room, and his head is nearly fully engaged (mw could feel it when doing an internal examination with no effort at all yesterday). I think I am just scared of everything going terribly wrong at the final hurdle.
I look forward (fingers crossed) to joining you all in the chat about bringing up baby.
Whatever will happen to this thread??

keepitgoing · 16/03/2014 10:06

motor good luck for tomorrow if it doesn't kick off earlier. are you going to get an epidural if induced?

still going through sleep hell here, up at 11, 2, 4, 5.30, 6.30. we were out all day yesterday and she's so nosy and distractable now I think she didn't eat much in the day which can't help.

sweetie glad e's hips are OK. it does seem like ages since they were inside. I am quite nostalgic for my pregnancy in a way.

I hope the thread doesn't die. mn is easier for just random updates than fb.

keepitgoing · 16/03/2014 10:09

yes I cuddled a newborn the day before labour shaz Grin the move is going well thanks dh is being a star doing things after I go to bed 8pm last night. shameful I don't think it's jet lag sweetie. wish it was. she knows it's night but that long stretch of deep sleep has just vanished Sad

Shazzamattazzerly · 16/03/2014 13:02

Hi everyone

Gosh Keep you must be shattered. We were also up more but not quite so much. after going to bed at 9ish we were up at 12.45, 4.30, 6 then 7. I'm still worried she isn't eating enough. I'm going to go to the milk spot this week to get a weigh in and some more advice. It could be the jabs that are bothering shazlett. Her thighs are swollen and her bcg has swollen up into a lump again.

Good luck tomorrow motor. It will be unspeakably wonderful to hold your baby after all this time.

I know I haven't posted much but also hope the thread doesn't die. I'm so very fond of this thread.

OnionRing · 16/03/2014 13:31

I find it hard to keep up with FB and this thread but agree this is better for general updates. Will try harder!

motor I was plagued with fear of things going wrong until the last second. It was horrible but just another part of the anxiety we all seem to have. Monitoring movements is really important BUT they are so cramped up by this stage that they do change and become nudges rather than kicks. It's also often said that they go quiet before labour starts. I confess I used to poke ringlet quite a lot until I got a nudge in reply.

Hang in there anyway, you are very very nearly there. I'd say definitely get an epidural if you're induced as it is rather fierce, but I still hope it doesn't come to that.

shazz I hope you get reassurance that all is actually well with your feeding!

keep I feel your sleepless pain!

My parents are here this weekend so I am getting all sorts of random jobs done about the house. I also have my outside pots done and they are very bright and jolly.

ceara · 16/03/2014 18:19

motor very best of luck for tomorrow. Anxiety about something going wrong in the home stretch has plagued us all I think, so I won't say stop mentalling. But hang on in there.

I really hope things go the way you wish and your baby either hurries along of its own accord, or you are able to have your c-section (if that is the intervention you'd still prefer when the time comes, should intervention be needed). Either way, it is wonderful that you will be cuddling your baby very soon.

SweetieTime · 16/03/2014 21:29

Motor hope all goes well for the induction and it speeds along. it is very normal to feel anxious about the birth but try to concentrate on the positives. Those newborn snuggles are worth it. Try to take it all in and make sure you get plenty of photos. I am gutted we didn't take any until a couple of hours later and then no more until the twins were 3 days old. I think we just had so much going on it was too late before we realised Sad

keep is this the dreaded 4 month regression? I am dreading it happening here. Do you know how long it might go on for?

Shazza I need to get DT weighed too as it is nearly a month since they were last done. I am sure they are doing fine but I need to have it checked. Hope NNN is doing well, we need more photos.

I don't miss being pregnant at all. DH says I now have a spongy tummy. I am not sure if this is a compliment but I am going to start back at pilates just in case it wasn't!

MotorcycleMama · 17/03/2014 06:29

Thanks everybody. Sorry re the sleep regression keep - I hope it passes soon.
Can I ask any of you who had syntocin drip, do you think epidural is always advisable? I have had conflicting advice.
Will phone hospital soon to check if they can fit me in today.

BrookerC · 17/03/2014 07:42

Motor I've been lurking here checking on your progress. Just wanted to say the very best of luck today & I will be thinking of you & hoping for a quick & easy birth.
This is really exciting. Before you know it mini-motor will be here!
Hello to everyone else ?> & sorry for invading Smile

Shazzamattazzerly · 17/03/2014 07:52

Good luck motor. A friend advised me to have the epidural if I got induced and so I did. And I was the one that was hoping for a natural home birth! I agree take lots of pics. We were lucky and a nurse in theatre took a little video of shazlett on my phone at about 5 mins old. It's only about 15 secs long but I treasure it. Loads and loads of luck.

Onion getting random jobs done is great. They are always the jobs that bother me but aren't necessary for day to day survival. Yesterday I shampooed the stairs carpet ready for selling.

Much better night here both with feeding and sleeping. Maybe it was the jabs. I've decided to postpone the worry til after the weigh in.

keepitgoing · 17/03/2014 08:53

shaz glad you had a better night. conversely I am holding out that Friday's jabs here will hive a good night's sleep. sweetie some people seem to miss it, others it's a week or two but there's a thread on mn where they are still bad at 6m... I reckon the twins are good sleepers and chilled out babies so you'll be fine. kip is smiley and lovely as ever.

go motor go! hope they have a bed for you x

keepitgoing · 17/03/2014 08:54

hi brooker sweet of you to drop in. I hope things go well for you wherever you are in treatment cycle.

OnionRing · 17/03/2014 19:40

motor I had the drip and I had the epidural shortly afterwards. If it had happened also I would have made damn sure it was the other way round. I'd already been in labour for hours so I knew what a contraction felt like but the syntocin induced ones were mighty fierce and very close together so I could gather myself up for the next one in between.

Shazza I touched up some bits of ceiling in Ringlets room that nobody but me would ever have noticed. That reminds me that I need to tackle the carpet stains at some point.

Sweetie I'm just pondering that 5:2 diet... I have let myself put weight back on and I want to shift it before I go back to work.
