Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, 1st to early 2nd trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Ahh that's where you've gone wrong, angel, having an expectation! That's bound to make things go differently.

You got your scan date to work towards?

Yuk greasy puke Xmas Envy (that's nausea green rather than envy)

Uh oh....we're starting to run out of thread here, are we all agreed we're staying put?

Boomgoestheweasel · 02/12/2013 12:31

I am going nowhere Xmas Grin Was than an offer to start the new thread then thunder?

Angelina77 · 02/12/2013 12:48

Yes, 12 wk scan next Thursday :)

Tallyra · 02/12/2013 12:55

thanks for that useful info re bras everyone. they are so expensive I'm not sure if I want to spend out on them yet as my 'fat' bras still fit me quite well.

I vote for thunder to start the new thread this time Grin

Last time I started a thread I had a miscarriage on it Xmas Sad. Does that get me out of the honour? Promise I'll start any postnatal ones...promise....

Brodicea · 02/12/2013 13:18

Ha, cheers boom! Laugh away, it is much funnier in the light of day Xmas Wink I was really hoping I wouldn't puke as I had the weird delirious notion little mini sausages would come up - all was well chewed luckily!

Bazinga Boom, you are well endowed! Dh is loving my new boobs although he wouldn't admit it because he's too kind (I can tell by his boggling eyes).

Brodicea · 02/12/2013 13:21

Sorry to hear that thunder Xmas Sad

how far into 900 should we venture?

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/12/2013 16:34

Back at docs tomorrow for 24 week app. Am going to have to bring up the breathlessness again... It's getting worse and I'm worried its my heart
Anyone given charming the nudge yet?

Thunderpantsarego · 02/12/2013 16:50

Oh merk sorry to hear you're uncomfortable. Did you speak to the doc about this before? What did they say?

My appt isn't for another week yet so you'll have to let me know what they do!

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/12/2013 17:18

The doc I saw last week said iron deficiency and took a blood test. But it's hard to explain, its not really breathlessness (like I get when I walk fast or up stairs) its like an elephant on my chest so I'm not convinced he's right. Suspect my appointment tomorrow won't be anything to write home about as this is one of the 'shared care' apps so with the actual doctor and not a midwife. And it's nt even my nice doctor either

Thunderpantsarego · 02/12/2013 18:39

Have you had the blood test results back? Or perhaps that's going to be discussed tomorrow? I go for 6 weekly blood tests for thyroid and I ring up for my results 1-2 days later but obviously I know what I'm looking for and what needs to be done each time so this is a bit different. If they do want you to take iron supplements I would fully recommend spatone water rather than the tablets that clog up your system.

I don't think I see a doctor again- just midwives at the MLU here. I love going there- they're all so friendly and chilled. I'm sure it'll be a wee-dip and blood pressure for me with maybe a little dopple too. Smile

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/12/2013 18:42

Shit well done thunder, you've reminded me to take a wee sample! Should get my blood test results tomorrow, I have been taking a liquid iron supplement anyway so i would be surprised if that's the issue.
I swap to my new area when we move house in the new year and into midwife care so looking forward to that.

funkymonk · 02/12/2013 19:13

I have been away for a long weekend so apologies for not catching up on the thread before posting. I have had my scan bought forward to tomorrow as have been having brown cm on and off since Saturday. It seem to be getting darker (not sure what that means) and my sore boobs and bloated belly have gone. Did another test today and still getting a dark test line come up before the control line but I am very very worried. Can't believe that I'm likely having another miscarriage. I'm terrified of going tomorrow and have to sit at work beforehand and wait until 3.40pm.

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/12/2013 19:30

Hi Funky, sorry to hear you're having a worrying time. I had brown CM for quite a while between 6 and 8 weeks - brown tends not to be anything to worry about as I understand as its old blood. Obv you are going to worry with your previous mmc, but I should think this is just the effects of implantation and your growing embryo disturbing your womb lining. It's always hard with an afternoon scan too. Are you about 6 weeks now? Be prepared that you may not be able to see a heartbeat on a scan yet even if everything is fine. And as somebody said recently, I wouldn't worry about symptoms coming and going, that seems to happen to everyone. Anyway have a hand to hold, I will keep everything crossed but am sure its nothing to worry about

funkymonk · 02/12/2013 19:54

Thanks merk. Yes, 6 weeks today.

Boomgoestheweasel · 02/12/2013 20:36

Have another hand to hold funky. The waiting and the worrying before that first scan is awful. Merk has already said everything wise there is to say, but wishing you good luck for tomorrow.

funkymonk · 02/12/2013 21:33

Thanks boom. Can't believe you're already at 20 weeks!
Sorry that you've got a sore fanjo Merk and Tally fantastic stuff regarding your pink bubba!
I've just been reading about low dose aspirin and spotting and wondering if that's the cause. Will soon see tomorrow anyway.

BlindKitty · 03/12/2013 07:06

Guys I bought the 2 pack from m&s I think brod was talking about. They're ok and boobs loads more comfy than before. Dh is very upset that I now look so mumsy rather than have my puppies all squashed together in my underwear bras! The m&s woman said underwired bras can damage your milk ducts but then not exactly a solid source of info!

Re not lying on your back, when does that apply from?

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/12/2013 07:56

Guess who still forgot to pee in the pot and flushed all the FMU away in a sleepy daze before remembering I was at the docs today Confused

Thunderpantsarego · 03/12/2013 08:09

I was told it doesn't have to be fmu merk, at my lot they like it to be the wee after a shower to reduce any erm bacteria that shouldn't be there.

Hi kitty no idea about the lying on back advice Xmas Hmm

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/12/2013 08:50

Yeah my problem was I didn't have time for another wee before my appointment. Managed to drink a lot and squeeze one out though!
V thorough doc concerned about my chest and have to go back next week. He's ordered extra bloods and wants me to try an inhaler although suspects it won't help as my lungs sound fine. I was very impressed at how much time he spent on it. Anyway other than that thunder I got my wee dipped, blood pressure, dopple and a bump measure

Thunderpantsarego · 03/12/2013 09:18

Oo they measured you? And?? It says on my notes they don't do that til 28 weeks.

I can't believe you got to and through an appointment on one wee? I have at least 3 before I can leave the house and that's not different when I'm not pregnant

Brilliant about the thorough doc though, that's more like it! Guess nothing came from the first lot of bloods?

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/12/2013 09:21

First lot of bloods aren't back yet. I don't know what the measurement was but he said perfect. And I agree with you on Peeing normally but I only got up 15 mins before I left the house

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/12/2013 11:32

Inhaler not helping, its come on again. Also am getting a bit panicked about being alone when this happens in case I pass out or something. Grr

Tallyra · 03/12/2013 12:43

sending you hugs merk, it sounds quite scary. Sad
